Well spoken bro , I am 30 now learning UX/UI design ,feeling weird but after listening to you i got some confidence...thank you! I hope my journey in future as good as you.
2 good books are: Designing with the mind in mind,a simple guide to understanding user interface design rules, and Usable usability, simple steps for making stuff better In addition to critical thinking, I would recommend a book on creative thinking
Great video! When I saw you made this video I was sure to watch all of it. I remember when you were first getting started! Thanks for book recommendations. I want to learn the fundamentals of design at some point because I think it’s a valuable skill for software engineers as well.
omg that's what i search about , i am in 30'y now , but I'm a bit confused about what design direction I want to go in. I have two options that I find difficult to choose between, is it packaging design? Or UX design? I need to decide this month! Time is running out and it's worrying me.
If you enjoy critical thinking, communication, and creative problem-solving, UX design might be for you. It’s a field where you’ll keep learning, so don’t stress about making a permanent choice. I hope this video helps-good luck!
To anyone who’s reading this understand that a lot of this advice doesn’t really apply now. The market is completely different and extremely competitive, the tech boom is over. You can read all the books you want but make sure you get a degree because that’s ultimately what’s going to get your foot in the door these days not a couple books or a bootcamp. I know this guy means well but he might be completely out of touch with reality regarding design. The competition is fierce, the market is so oversaturated that even average companies are being picky and good luck finding entry level jobs. These days it’s basically a lottery so you have to put yourself in the best position to win.
This is solid advice. While it worked for me, the market has changed, and competition is pretty tough. Still I think with strong skills, dedication, and a solid portfolio, you can land a job. I feel that if you design thoughtful experiences with clean UI and solid fundamentals, there’s a chance. I cover more on this in my last video. Also your location is a huge factor as well. Thanks for watching and for your insights on today’s market.
