      @@901cali Thanks for your video. It sucks everything keeps going back and fourth between open and close. My city actually never got to open any gyms, inside dinning or move theaters since the outbreak started. Not even limited capacity inside. Eventually my town got restaurants to open outside and that was fine. Then last week or week before they banned that from happening. The CDC and even Fauci recommend to do stuff outside and even eat outside. I'm confused to why restaurants here in California at least where weather has been pretty great can't just remain open outside? As long as other people are separated from you outside eating then you should be okay. I just don't get that part. People are still going to the grocery stores and certain malls where it's crowded which is all inside. Aside from that- I am on the fence about the vaccine. I don't think it will kill you if you get it. I just think they rushed into it too quick. I mean it took them 5 years to make the Ebola vaccine. Typically it takes that long or even 3 years to get a vaccine. The Government and American people don't want to go back into a 3rd lock/shut downs or even 5 lock/shut downs. They want this covid to end ASAP and get back to normal. I think there was a lot a TON of pressure to come out with anything possible. I won't be getting the vaccine even if it was offered to me. I would consider maybe possibly getting it in another year from now. I just want more studies done.

      @@901cali Also I have a friend that works in the city she commutes by her car. She is working from home and has been since March/April. She works for a tech company. I have other friends that work in the bay area as well. Most all are working from home. It's sad again about the restaurants as you mentioned....people come to work and then go to a restaurant to grab a bite for lunch. Then sometimes grab a coffee in the morning before work at a coffee shop. Here in my city more towards Marin are hurting as well.I am trying to actually do take out as much as possible to give them the business. I suggest if you can to do the same. Go pick up food or have it delivered to you. Leave a tip too as I always do.

    When I was 16 ( 1969), I was living in a small town in the NE of France. I met this young 23 years old American traveller from San Francisco who told me about his city. I fell in love, not with him but with the description and the pictures he left in my mind. I promised myself I would go one day to San Francisco and I did, 10 years later and I loved it. I know, this is part of the evolution of our societies and our environment but I am watching this nice video with a grain of nostalgia.

      @magaranita 3 роки тому +2

      @@mmaranta785 Currently Baltimore does not have a poop map: wmmr.com/2019/04/17/someone-made-an-interactive-san-francisco-poop-map/ Baltimore does not sit on the Hayward Fault zone as does SF. San Francisco has more Starbucks. Both are run by Democrats. SF is losing businesses just as Baltimore has seen in it's past. In 1950, Baltimore was America’s sixth most populous city, with nearly a million residents, many employed by Bethlehem Steel. But business begin moving away in the 60s and 70s. Which in turn led to people moving. Despite political rhetoric to the contrary, policymakers have often ignored the deterioration as fewer households meant a smaller tax base. Meanwhile, speculators bought cut-rate row homes and sat on them, waiting for a payday. And so between 2016 and 2018, according to U.S. Census estimates, Baltimore led all American cities in population loss. Not impossible to imagine SF going this route, as Cali continues to exhibit its appetite for eating itself.

    I'm old enough to remember when the major industry in SF, outside of tourism, outside of shipping (the piers) was banking/finance. Every big California bank had HQ in San Francisco and I see their old 1960s/1970s skyscrapers on almost all your videos. SF had the Pacific Stock Exchange. SF was the HQ of Chevron (555 Market). HQ of Pacific Bell. HQ of Del Monte. HQ of Southern Pacific Railroad. HQ of Crown Zellerbach which was a paper manufacturer. There was manufacturing in San Francisco. SoMA was a warehouse/manufacturing area right up until the 80s and 90s. Moscone Center opened when I was in sixth grade and that started SoMA gentrifying. SFMOMA came along in the 1990s. San Francisco will never be Detroit and will always be a center of commerce and innovation. When you have UC Berkeley, Stanford and all the other colleges and universities turning out graduates, they can't all move to Texas, and not all of them want to.

The sole purpose of the corporations is to maximize profit, but the result carries many more implications like the debt based economic collapse and a great reset to one world order leading to current day corporations demise though having served their purpose of innovating and rolling out high technologies and new economic models like phones, aps, robotics, AI, autonomous driving systems, and global cryptocurrency. This sort of profiteering and tearing up every culture on Earth in the name of profit and tech development isn't sustainable nor going to work out for it's been going so fast without considering how it effects everyone else who aren't executives and shareholders with little regard for the environment of Earth despite high tech electric cars now being common place. I've constantly had to apologize for just doing my thing. I suppose it's my fault for being successful, but if you think tech leaving means transplants leaving well ok lol. A lot of my friends growing up went into tech as well and they're making similar moves, a lot of the smart kids in the bay area went into tech. Sorry we were nerds I guess.

    • @bocaburgler
      @bocaburgler 3 роки тому +12

      @@whong09 nah, its not the nerd thing. It's the lifestyle, and the sheer volume of people that operate within a certain mono culture. It's about group dynamics, and like i said not giving back. The tech industry couldve said "hey we've made our home here in the bay, and would love to be apart of the community in meaningful ways" and build and support things that society could benefit from as a whole. Instead, the arts died, small buisinesses died, little movie theaters died, music venues died. yall ubered to and from work, or took google busses, and ate at work, then came home and ordered everything online while driving up rent to absurd levels. The soul of the city died. I make good money in the city, and a lot of my business came from tech but the group behavior was so sad and thoughtless. again not personal. and i too feel like a "nerd". people should give back to their community especially when there was so much opportunity to do so

    Love your thoughts. I used to live in the City years ago. Now a transplant to the East Bay. However I have always worked in the City. I went over a couple of weeks ago and it was totally a surreal moment out of the Twilight Zone. The stillness is deafening. Even your video captures the emptiness. It will also be interesting to see how all this plays out since tourism also been greatly affected. Tourism has been a stable revenue generator even in the worst of times long before Tech. The late 90s issued in the first round of rental increases to stratosphere levels with many people leaving in droves to other parts of the Bay. Hence why I left. Letting you know how old I am. Lol With the stability gone of two of its main revenue generators will be able to see the resiliency of the City and how the new business model or hybrid thereof will meet the challenges.
