About 95% of gas stations are closed and it's pretty wide spread. Can't run gas generators without fuel. It's a lesson for me and all of your viewers.
PS. Fuel trucks are far and few between. In 4 days I have only seen one line truck and it was just sitting by itself in a parking lot. Listen to Preppernurse1 the man has the plan. Lessons learned.
    Thank you.

That is what a lot of people do not understand. Several years ago, a friend in Louisiana had to wait for days for a propane truck to fill their tank to run their whole house generator.

I remind people of what happened to Iowa back in '93 when large areas of the state didn't have power for almost a month in addition to losing our water when the treatment plant got flooded

It’s pretty normal for taking 3+ weeks to get powers back on after hurricanes. Sometimes it’s longer!

@@scrapykat3028 We have small towns that have been hit with tornadoes since the end of February and still trying to recover from the damage.

    TL;DR:
Given the lack of regulatory enforcement, funds that should have gone into operations and plant maintenance at most US utilities are instead put into the pockets of class A stock holders and customers be damned.
Although after the winter fiasco, any Texan that didn’t prep with their own utilities you can’t feel too sorry for; they’ve had plenty of time to get their ducks in a row.

No need to complain if they didn't get prepared, they had enough time to get ready.

Power outages due to weather related issues are the number one reason to prepare for the emergency. People need to stop sticking their in the sand and start working on building that emergency kit because it takes time and energy to repair the damage caused by the wether related disasters.

You are so right! I will admit that I read your title and thought "He had better not be complaining that the power isn't back on after just four days!" Thank you! People who live in hurricane zones need to learn to be prepared. My son is in Texas from Kansas helping restore power and people are complaining. We lived in Texas in the winter of 2020/21. We were inconvenienced but we were fine. This gives us all an indication of how people are going to react when the SHTF.

Because the grid is being taken down and it has to stretch further, The wind turbines are probably not working the greatest.

Battery powered fans, solar generators, water storage, cooling rags and card games. Propane grills and camping stoves and you are good to go for a while.

The hurricane season starts and end at the same time every year. Some years are mild and some are momsters. THEY KNOW ITS COMING! They are warned for DAYS ahead of time. Prepare. Its just common sense.

JudithB Being prepared all the time for what ever, means we can relax a bit. I saw lots of folks down in Texas standing in real long lines in over 90s weather. Just imagine if shtf occurs?? I finally got the truck unloaded this am, animal feed, and 10 more landscape timbers. Got parts for the wheelbarrow, and tires for the metal wagon. I sprayed weed n grass killer around the pool, mailbox posts, water main and across the back of house. Getting ready to fertilize the garden and plant cucs and more beans. One row is coming up planted last week! Lots to do and high 90s, and ridiculous index temps. UGH!!

Power company used to hire contractors to prune tree limbs away from power lines on a 3-4 year (?) cycle...

A few years ago in the Beckey area their water was contaminated due to i think more than 1 broken water main from freezing. You couldn't even get a cup of coffee or use the restroom at lots of gas stations, my old house in Quinwood wasnt effected though

Part of the reason may be that the linemen are being attacked and many have said to hell with it and gone back to their own states.

Texas has its own grid and is independent from the rest of the grid. They seem to have frequent issues down there.

Taking a cheap shot there, bud?
A once in 50 year freeze like a couple of years ago had nothing to do with power interconnectedness. Neither does this hurricane.
This situation is because power lines got knocked down by falling trees etc....but hey, just go on ahead and keep zhitting on Texas, we don't give a phk

Some people are just careless. People don’t get why I prepare well I don’t get why they don’t prepare. I get ask questions by family members when they come over to my house. Next time I’ll ask them the questions.

Ed I grew up in cleveland, Ohio in the late 1960's-1980's and we rarely lost power but during summer vacation in Clay, WV. the power would go off a few times today cleveland, Ohio looses power often even more than Clay, WV. why in BIG part our unkept-up power grid!!!
