Although my washer model was a bit different, the steady camerawork on this video allowed me to pause and see details that helped me successfully swap out my pump. Thank you.
Omg!! Thank you so much!! I’ve had this thing for 11 years and been dealing with for about 6 months now. I’ve never cleaned that filter. I feel like such irresponsible appliance owner. 😢😢 EVERYTHING was in that thing! I started the cycle again and if it finishes with any issues I’m gonna cry. Seriously.
i had a problem with an nd code almost every cycle i ran, after changing the drain pump , pulling and cleaning hoses and hard lines it turned out the small line going to the pressure switch had a blockage in it, after blowing out that line i have had no further problems, i watched probably 20 different videos on the nd code and thought you might like to let your everyone know this could also cause that issue, thanks for your videos they really help in alot of cases
Thank you so much for this video! I have had this exact Kenmore washer for almost 15 years without any issue. In the past week it stopped draining. After checking for clogged filters and such I figured it might be the pump. After watching your video and purchasing the recommended part (~$40), I was able to get my washer up and running again. Not only does it now drain but it is super quiet. It used to shake and be louder on the spin cycle but now it stays in one place and is quiet and smooth. I only wish it didn't take the removal of almost 20 screws and multiple panels to get to the part in question! Not hard, just annoying. (And make sure to organize your screws so you remember where they all go!) Thanks again!
egg cartons are great for this. I number by egg spots, then use that # on a notepad to write a description of where my screws went (for fixing cars too)
This video was absolutely perfect for helping me to be able to repair my 15 year old Kenmore WF338 front load washer. I reviewed a few other videos on line but this one was clear, super helpful to review when I was unsure. Thank you for saving me $250! In the end the nd code was triggered by the drain tube from the tub to the pump (just full of old soap and lint - less than a pencil thickness left. Cleaned it out, reassembled and 'viola - back in operation. AND, should the pump ever go, I've got you bookmarked! Thank you again, Bill in VT
Saved me so much headache. This has been giving me anxiety for months and I finally managed to fix it today. Have a different model but everything was basically the same except the location of the pump. Thank you so much!
Great video! My only comment is that I wish the step for reinstalling the door seal hadn't been done at 2x. It wasn't immediately clear how to seat it properly after swapping out the pump
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I don’t have the exact model, but this video still helped me change the pump, which ultimately was the problem. This video saved me so much money!
Thanks for sharing. I do not agree that 99% is the pump. The pump relay on the control board fails in many such cases. The relay on my Samsung washer is rated 100,000 cycles. Sounds a lot, but in about 10 years it reaches its lifespan because each wash consumes quite a few cycles of this relay. Someone posted a video showing opening the relay cover to polish contacts, better than replacing the relay. Just cover it nicely due to 110V AC for the pump.
Thx for the video. I've replaced heat coil, thermo, ect in my dryer. Talking front off washer is bit different and wouldn't have known the drain pump was up front. Successfull repair.😊
Great video, we replaced the drain last fall and it worked great. Another ND code recently, new drain pump installed. Still getting ND code. Cleaned ALL hoses in washer, still ND code. Any suggestions? New control board? Thanks
I want to add my thanks as well! I have a Samsung WF210/220, so a bit different than the model worked on in the video. But, with a few alterations to his model specific instructions I was able to get up and running once again. I does help to have a 2nd person helping when you do this project.
Sometimes it drains if I just leave it. But it still stops at ND and mine doesn't have that front filter also, my drain pump is in the back. I've cleaned out that tubes attached to the pump drain and I've even replaced the pump too. It's weird
Question for anyone who may have an answer -- I got to the point where I need to remove the 2 screws on either side of the plastic housing that are holding the metal plate in place. I got the screws almost all of the way out but both of them are now just going round and round, not unscrewing any more as if the threads are stripped. I can feel about 1/4" of the end of the screw on the bottom of the washer and it's not moving out of the hole. Any suggestions on how I can get them out?? Thanks in advance for your help.
Great video. We are getting the error message that the washer is not draining however I do hear it draining when it is running. I checked the filter and it is clear. I flipped the washer on its side and removed the draqin hose to fully flush it and ensure no blockages. I also removed the pump and the large balck connecting hose from bottom of washer to pump and washed that as well. Reassembled everhyting and ran a cycle. I hear the water being discharged but still getting error message at the end of the cycle. However when opening up the washer door it is dry and when I re-check the filter it only has a slight amount oif residual water. Is there anything else to check or is it possibly a bad sensor or board going bad? Thank you for any advice you may have.
@@JnJShiffler thank you. I will take a look at it again and see what I can figure out. Would be great to not have to run to the washer every 20 minutes to turn it off and reselect rinse and spin because it does not fully complete the cycle.
Finding myself replacing the pump ones a year??? Pump still works If I drain from valve just a little bit I will finish the rest of the drain and sometimes it will work with no problem
Hi! I have the same model washer as in the video and it is giving me the "nd" message, but each load is giving at a different point of the cycle (sometime it gives the message between wash and rinse, and sometimes between rinse and spin). After turning off the machine and do a rinse+spin cycle or spin only cycle it will finish the load with the machine draining the water. Any ideas why the machine would do that? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
So I run the cleaning cycle, and regular loads. I’ve checked the pump filter. I’ve pulled the drain hose out of the wall and there is pretty good flow of water coming out but here’s the rub. About 10 min left in the self cleaning cycle (out of an hour and a half full cycle) it stops and I get the ND code. Seems it could be an intermittent problem. What would you recommend if the pump is working but I still get the code
my Samsung washing machine won't drain, but it didn't give me any error code, I can hear the motor of the drain pump working but the water won't get down, I tried to empty it using the emergency tube but it didn't work, any idea what happened to her?
Wish there was information on troubleshooting the main control board. Samsung will not provide any technical information, pin readout or document assistance. It would be beneficial to have test points on this component so analysis of proper function can be determined. Unfortunately, Samsung doesn't believe in sharing this kind of helpful information, especially with end users. They want you to schedule a visit by a "qualified Samsung technician". In our case, the pump will function when manually given voltage but will not function otherwise. This leads us to believe a defect in the main control board but cannot confirm. Was hoping this video would address some more details regarding the "not pumping" condition but it seems this was out of scope for this video.
a comment above discussed a worn relay contacts that can be cleaned up. I agree, there's no troubleshooting here in this video, just a pump replacement. No pump motor resistance readings, nor control board / relay discussion.
God... I think I have PTSD from a nearly identical Samsung washer we had that would throw a NF error with that same chime and require multiple manual interventions on each fill cycle.
Get this replacement pump on our website! 😎 lorainfurniture.com/shop/appliance-parts/washer-dryer-parts/samsung-drain-pump/
Can you tell me what model is it please
The same as the video Samsung front load VRT
WF218 or 9 I think
@@spzhzyd-ex2hr it’s the same as the video a front load VRT and the model number is WF 219 or 218 I think the sticker is scratched off in some parts

Thank you for showing it all! Fortunately in my case, it was only a filter problem.
Do you know the sequence used to place this model into diagnostic/test mode? Thanks
I have same model.. going be doing this project this weekend
Solid video, thank you for investing your time!
where can I find a new check valve like the one in this video (mine is disintegrated)

So i did the repair ! Thanks but now water leaked everywhere on the second load so im thinking maybe the hose fell off the new pump ANY ADVICE FOR ME?
I didnt give a twist to the hoses i just pressed the spring clamp pulled them off and put them back on could that be the blame
thank you !
Could something be stuck in your pump?

Our lg top load washer is displaying a tE error
How can I buy a pump from you?
Link is in description, also it’s pinned as top comment
What if the washer was in the middle of a load and has water sitting inside with wet clothes?
How to do test mode
Uhmmm the drain pump could be..CLOGGED OR THE HOSE COULD BE FULL OF DEBRIS!
That is pretty rare as a tech in my area.
Why in the hell take all that off just to tip it over and remove pump?
They just make appliances way harder to repair, as they could have easily placed an access panel below the door.
It is called Planned Obsolecense.
This did cross my mind before following the video.
Unfortunately you have to remove all the other parts to access the pump. You cannot access the pump from the bottom by simply tilting it back.
Thank you
If there’s a coin in there. Would you be able to hear it?
Washer won't lock when turned on
Another no drain error code on a Samsung washing machine is 5E.
I think I’ll just cut a hole on the side lol, not like it’ll be visible.
Hell make it some what harder will u Samsung
I’m getting a pf code
Give your hose a tug 😂
You could have done all of this from the bottom of the washer without doing anything with the panel or front. Took me 5 mins lol
how do you do that??
No it won't put out any water
nd error
You’re the MF’er!🫡
