I have been a very ineffective planner for SEVERAL years. I have ADHD and I have watched many videos on functional planning, and I easily can go down the rabbit hole for hours. I found this video to be very informative.
It's nice to be reminded that we are human! Thanks! I use only one big chunky planner that doesn't leave my desk, so when I'm out and about I take a quick photo of my planner page with my phone, hope that helps ❤
My planner is a tool to keep me organized and productive, but most of your confessions apply to me. I rarely do all of the tasks on my daily page. That is no problem for me as I mark them with a red pen to be carried forward. The reminder is there so I do not need to work on remembering the task. I have more or less given up on time blocking. I do note appointments and events as they are time bound, but I end up doing the tasks in all sorts of orders. Yes, there are days I do not use the planner. That is mostly when I am gone or have company. Thank you for a good reminder of not being too rigid. Great video!
Thank you for sharing your planning challenges. It makes me feel better that I'm not the only one who falls behind in my planning. I struggle with all of these at times, but it seems I've struggled more lately because of work stress. I think I need to implement a better system, but I also need to give myself some grace. Again, thank you for your honesty. Hope you have a great week! 😊
I set up a planner and plan my week, then I have a health issue that destroys those plans. So, all I can do is get up and start over the next day. As for forgetting to plan for the future, I would set an appointment on my phone or an alarm for daily things. My daughter does this and has a dozen alarms for the day! But she isn't late to important things. Finally, I would stack the habit of checking my planner with other habits I already do such as meal times. I am glad I'm not alone in this; I was knodding my head watching this video.
Thank you for watching! Let me know if you struggle with any of these confessions in your planning system in the comments below 😊
