One time i played a 3 chord "twinkle twinkle little star" piece on my acoustic. A crazy seven-foot-tall purple suited dude came into my house, started flying and shooting lightning bolts from his eyes.
This is honestly one of my favorite films ever. It was ahead of its time in so many ways, and the fight against the Katayanagi twins is probably the best in movie history. I don't know how many times I watched this film, I never noticed Knives had stars literally in her eyes listening to Sex Bob-Omb. Those little details that make this film a masterpiece.
If not for Hot Fuzz I would consider this his best work... but Hot Fuzz is as close to perfection as a film can get (at least from a technical standpoint)
The Musical performances in this film are so natural, and fantastically played. I really like Micheal Cera’s little harmonies in Garbage truck. And the bass lick at the end.
I remember the very first time I watched the movie at first I thought it was just average but then I went back and watched it again and I enjoyed it much more.

Pretty sure it was written for the movie, so it's technically originally performed by Brie Larson although it is written and performed by "Metric" otherwise
Brie Larson doesn't actually sing, she's pitchy at best. They cast her because she had the look for the film not for her singing abilities. As another user pointed out on the bloopers reel they show her singing it around the 6 minute marker. ua-cam.com/video/qVoFQ451rzQ/v-deo.html
