Love to hear David's newly discovered, original notes. Unlike anything I've heard. Pure Genius! Gillian's voice is like getting a relaxing massage. Love these Two.
Does anyone have any direction on how to understand how David Rawlings plays? He seems to be using a completely different scale, if you really listen it sounds like alien music. Not much on the net in the way of tabs, so I appreciate any help on tunings, modes, scales, whatever. Thanks!
Learn by ear. When my friends first started picking up guitar they all got tabs for Nirvana songs. Thing is Kurt was a very emotive by feel guitar player so even when they learned to execute the tabs perfectly it always came out bland since most of the "it" was lost in translation. I'd reckon the same is true for David.
Why doesn't anybody ever ask about ears??? That's how great players learn and play. No notes-tabs-scales but gifted ears only. Guitar schools, teachers and tutorials made the guitar the worst played instrument of popular music today. Same thing applies to Leonardo, Shakespeare, John Coltrane or Hendrix : Pure Talent. Let them teachers make money out of their expensive techique and hide the truth.
What a gem of a video. So glad this performance was captured.
this room is the first joint i ever played live music in. so many great acts have gone out of their way to experience the acoustics of this place.
Two of the best musicians/singers out there. Thanks for posting this!

Almost unbearably beautiful - Revival is one of the great albums of all time for me
the best the US have to offer this old world today! :-) love it!
Love it - they are so young but haven't compromised what they set out to do.
Dave is sporting TWO Elvis curls. Can't get much more cool than that! Music always beautiful...
