i have no idea,since this guide was made for odyssey,on odyssey it worked the way u saw in the Video,u are probably playing another version which ripped the encounter,therefore i have no idea whats wrong on their end
after i beat the champion i cant access the hall of fame and there is no save button. is this is glitch? so everytime i rejoin i have to beat the champion again

uhhh there are quite some Version that ripped this encounter so there are some where it works for sure. for Odyssey Reforged it doesnt,they have a renewed Version of it,which u can also Find on the Channel

Well yes he was...partially. besides,not sure about the quick cash grab version thing. All these versions add features,extensions and pokemon pbb never had while giving players what they liked...a pbb game. Its never the same to watch a video if u can play the game. Im personally not feeling nostalgic im just having fun in for me the best pkmn game that existed. Cash grab or not(which u can basically call most rblx games) for me its fun and therefore i will stay. (Besides many people enjoy this content too would be kinda dumb to leave them behind (like brad did) over such a comment)
