We played this yesterday at my Dad's funeral, he was carried out to his final resting place whilst it was playing. Such a powerful song and sounded amazing as it filled the church. My dad was a really big Runrig fan for over 20 years and it seemed the perfect song to send him off to. Love you forever Dad, RIP xx
thank you runrig for 45 years of your music, thgank you donnie munro for that voice. wishing you the best to all of you in your retirement. life it what it is, short and wonderful and sad and ugly at times, but your music will get me through to the end....i am 75 and lost my wife of 54 years just 8 months ago...this song has been a great comfort thank you
Possibly the most beautiful song ever recorded. Stunning scenery: my stamping ground in the 80s. Shame I'm not well enough to go back to the hills of Glen Coe/Glen Shiel/The Torridons.
Incredibly atmospheric and moving work. Calum and Rory have a unique feel for writing Gaelic hymns. Donnie' s voice so perfect. Got it booked for my funeral. Mike Lowther
Thank you for posting this, it is a beautiful song by Runrig, I would have used glen as the scots gaelic translation of Ghleann rather than valley but of course both are correct.
Just blown away! This is my funeral song but had no idea what it was about just loved the whole range of emotions and feelings it stirred within. So taken aback to see the translation and to think "Wow that's what I thought it was about". Not just want the song but your whole video for my funeral. How do I go about this? P.S. New to computers, facebook, Utube etc.
The words of this song were read as part of my Fathers Eulogy. There is a copy of the video on a Geocache that I own that is of the same name as the song.
