Surfing in Suburbia - A River Surfing Film from the Suburbs of Calgary

For a month or two each spring and early summer during high water season, river surfers go on the search for waves that only form under these high flow conditions. Some of these rare waves form mere steps away from the backyards of the sprawling suburbs.
I didn’t discover this wave but I’m fortunate to live minutes away from it and have spent a lot of evenings there since it shaped up at the end of May. It’s hard to encapsulate the feeling of riding a standing wave on a fast flowing river through a video clip, but I hope you’ll get some sense of the joy it brings to me and the great friends that surfed this beauty.
