It's genuinely amazing that the demon hunter quest was about drawing 4+ cards a turn for multiple turns, and that being realistically attainable wasn't seen as a huge red flag for Demon Hunter having way too much card advantage.
I think Reska is fine as a wow-factor card. It's a big spooky thing, a big later game tool, and has fun ways to resummon or spread the deathrattle. I also think the rune choice is pretty good at keeping it out of the hands of blood DK. cause man, i would put that in every triple blood deck i make.
Mana cheating is agregius and should be regulated by not letting any card discount another below (1), but its only truly TERRIBLE when it results in *repeatable combos* The Skyla - Tsunami play is bad, really bad, but its *infuriating* because it ALSO gives you access to cards that let you cast a SECOND Tsunami a turn later Which makes Radiant Elemental dodging literally EVERY nerf Sorcerer's Apprentice got even more baffling.
Worse statline *and* lacking the Elemental tag for synergy, and it *still* dodges nerfs. Maybe they just straight up believed Priest had worse spells on average so it didn't matter? And once upon a time that would be accurate? Not anymore tho!
A Quiz, well, let’s see how well I do. I made answers to the questions on my own WITHOUT LOOKING ANYTHING UP, then checked the official Hearthstone website to check the answers. Without any delay these were my answers: 1. There were 2 cards in Witchwood which had deckbuilding restrictions, Genn only wanted Even cards while Baku wanted Odd. Baku would upgrade your hero power if you followed her(?) restrictions, and thus, Odd Paladins use Baku in their deck, giving them the upgraded hero power, The name of it being, The Silver Hand 2. I will accept getting this one wrong, I thought it was Unexpected Results from Mage but the real Answer was Master of Ceremonies from The Grand Tournament, which really sucks as an epic card. (3 Mana 4/2 Battlecry: Gain +2/+2 if you control a minion with spell Damage.) Maybe it was just attack at release but, what do I know. 3. If I remember there are 2, Youthful and Ancient, If there’s actual names for them then that’s news to me. 4. I’m not sure on this one, Standard has around 20, and this I’m assuming is on wild. I bet it’s in the 50’s given expansions after Stormwind may have focused more on Shadow Spells because of Benedictus, My guess will be 57, though I could be a few off 5. I know about a good portion of the banned cards, but have no idea if was something Blizzard wrote or we did, I think my answer will be the “unruly infant” being banned from Standard before Perils in Paradise, My answer will be Splish Splash Whelp 6/Bonus. I’m not even gonna try here, what? How would anyone know this? Technically, 4/5, didn’t get the bonus or number 5, should have known 5 because it’s the only card still banned to this day. All in all good job from me and you for making a challenging quiz.
Molten Giant old wrong text was: "Costs (1) less for each damage your hero has taken.". Molten Giant actual right text is: "Costs (1) less for each Health your hero is missing.".
1: The Silver Hand 2: Master of Ceremonies 3: Youthful Brewmaster and Ancient Brewmaster 4: 52 Holy Spells in Priest (I don't count the doubles). 5: I don't know Bonus: What is Juicy Couture?
I have to disagree on radiant elemenal. I used to play the quest mage (ungoro quest) that used ignite and luna and now I am playing radiant elemental priest (I don't play the version with potion of madness so I can't talk about that one). The mage deck was only hard to play in 2 aspects, how to mulligan and how to survive (the second one is eased greatly by ice blocks). The kill was an OTK and always ended the game. The radiant priest is way harder in my opinion you need to know how to mulligan and learn the deck, you are required to know the matchup and cards you need. Another thing is knowing how much can you commit to the board. You can usually (3 out of 4 games with precise gameplay) get 3-6 7/8 or 8/8(I am playing Arcane giants) in your hand costing 0. The issue is knowing, when you can commit them to the board to make it unbeatable, but still having another wave of stats in case of clear. It took me losing 20-30 games for me to learn how the deck operates and get to know the cards I need to discover in each marchup. I understand why you feel like radiant is super unfair, but the sorcerer's apprentice was killed because it can discount spells like arcane intellect while priest doesn't have this strong card draw on spells, thus radiant even though its technically identical card, is weaker.
Loved this! How about one on coin-refunding cards through the ages? It’s relevant to standard (mage and Hunter) and there must be a bunch more in wild…
I literally have a recording of me doing all of 19:40, but I played 2 Rangers draw 6, both clownfish, mutinis and a full one band amalgamation for almost 30/30, draw 6 opponents discards a card turn 4
1. The Silver Hand 2. Unexpected Results 3. Youthful Brewmaster and Ancient Brewmaster 4. IDK fucking all of them 5. Mechwarper probably Bonus: Zeddy my goat
This shit, right here, is why I *always* ran watchtowers in any deck during its standard format. I don't care it couldn't attack, I don't care it set me back early, if I can make the other guy pay even a few more mana on average for their big swing cards, that's usually enough to win the game just on tempo.
I got a 1.5/5 because I do not know wild that well, and can't remember card names. I got question 3 right and 2 half right, because I couldn't remember the name but did know the effect
well, time to take the test: 1. Multi-Recruit 2. it’s probably some mage spell 3. Youthful ancient and brewmaster brewmaster 4. exactly 0 if shadow priest, at least 2 if it’s any other priest 5. The Darkness (banned because it gave children three candles, which counts as an open flame, and left them unattended) bonus: The pinned comment, if there is none then the most liked comment that has been hearted EDIT: thought answers would be in the next video, so uhh, i guess this counts as a 0/6 score?
"Sure you do ramp! Ramp into cheating!" So validating to finally hear this. 11:57 Pepperidge Farms remembers when Pen Flinger could go face. Hey loser!
Portalmancer skyla isn’t the worst play pattern ever, remember that yugioh has FTKs and historically many have actually been completely viable. Imagine going into a locals just to not play the game ever lmao. The archfiend traps and the gimmick puppet FTK are two viable ones THIS YEAR.
@@FlareIsGone yugioh also used to have around 2020-2019 fully negate dedicated strategies because Konami was really lazy that year and just slapped negates on every archetype, so the game was going 1st turbo to prevent the opponent from playing any card. I wouldnt even complain if they were playing tsunami turn 5 and thats it but nooo, conman turn 6 and 7 and yea i can corpse explosion turn 5 but not turn 6 and 7 and then after that take like 20 damage face from sunset volley
WRONG, the first card who would benefit from spd outside from damage is gvg gnome(forgot his name), which battlecry is if you have spell damage, draw a card, HA
You few person that talk about wild and it kind of funny see cards I see good but bad in wild. and seeing cards I never seen play because they left standard before I started.
Mana cheat is in the game since the beginning. Sorcerer's Apprentice, Kirin Tor Mage, Shadowstep, Preparation, Summoning Portal, Pint-Sized Summoner, Sea Giant, Mountain Giant and Molten Giant.
@@Staklihen But with some cards which got added over time it sometimes became toxic. Sorcerer's Apprentice was a very good card, but with all the cheap spells that got printed it became obnoxious. Same thing with radiant elemental. The powerlevel nowadays is too high, it needs to be toned down IMO
I swear we were close to a total meltdown on the Druid discussion. Totally deserved.
infinity mana is awesome kappaaaa

The “sike” slides are great addition to the videos. Great stuff
I remember the first years of hearthstone when mana cheat was more like a gimmick and not something that you see every game ... The good old days
Same with random card generation which is now a staple of basically every class.
In the good old days I was playing alarm bot with deathwing and I thought it’s the cheesiest play you could possibly do. Oh boy I was wrong
And to add to the Skyla rant:
-The metal detector was buffed to the 3/2
-The coniving conman was buffed so it interacts with tsunami in mage
I don't think they factor in "Is it fun to play against?" when designing cards.
Mana cheating is agregius and should be regulated by not letting any card discount another below (1), but its only truly TERRIBLE when it results in *repeatable combos*

I love Reska. I said it.
Mana Cheat = Fun
For you not the Opponent but who cares
warlock has runed mithril rod as well lmao dh questline reward at what used to be 3 mana was insane xd
yeah mithril rod is fucking insane how did that ever get printed

Mana cheat can feel very impactful and can lead to fun turns
The problem is that it's very hard to balance
worst thing happened in the history of hearthstone
these videos are how i start my day now, you are awesome bro
1: The Silver Hand
2: Master of Ceremonies
3: Youthful Brewmaster and Ancient Brewmaster
4: 52 Holy Spells in Priest (I don't count the doubles).
5: I don't know
Bonus: What is Juicy Couture?
Note on Warlock: You forgot the Symphony of Sins high roll discount on Sargeras.
This video should be in the Library of Congress
I honestly subbed for the informative videos, but this is fun too
No Mystery egg on hunter slide....
Hiding it from the opps

"Skyla is one the least fun gameplay patterns in this game, potentially any game". Oh, my good sir, you haven't experienced Yugioh then
I like to ignore yugioh when talking about card games since it is the definition of bullshit
Crazy how many of those DH were only playable for a very short time
You skipped the funny 1 mana 2/2 discount by 1 in Mage which you don't even need to Outcast. Bane of standard alas
your videos are good dude, simple yet interesting. no screaming youtuber voices too. i hope you get bigger soon.
Call me smooth brained if you want, but “Not less than (1)” should be a universal rule for all mana cheat cards.
smooth brained
smooth brained
Or at the very least it should be put onto more cards
Loved this! How about one on coin-refunding cards through the ages? It’s relevant to standard (mage and Hunter) and there must be a bunch more in wild…
You forgot to add mystery egg to the hunter slide bruv, like that one is legit good and enables all kinds of deathrattle decks.
Wouldn't it be cool if blizzard printed a card that said "Your beasts cost (1) less!" But knowing blizzard, they'd put it in Druid...
I swear everyday Flare gets more and more insane with each video he makes-
God had to give me bad OCG that has a hemorrhaging player count autism instead of like science so I didn't end the world
Ive made a rule in my own game design to never have mana cheat go below 1 mana unless its for a single card or temporary
I literally have a recording of me doing all of 19:40, but I played 2 Rangers draw 6, both clownfish, mutinis and a full one band amalgamation for almost 30/30, draw 6 opponents discards a card turn 4
Damn, Flare posting PowerPoints as if he had a gun to his head
Hunter is the only class playing Hearthstone, while Druid at this point just plays Yu-Gi-Oh.
Im surprised you didn't mention mystery egg + lion combo for Hunter
I feel like this video is a genuine cry for help
1. The Silver Hand
2. Unexpected Results
3. Youthful Brewmaster and Ancient Brewmaster
4. IDK fucking all of them
5. Mechwarper probably
Bonus: Zeddy my goat
IM THE FIRST LADY OF JUICY COUTURE
Ah yes, the thing that has never been broken in the game
I answered implosion on cards benefitting from spell damage besides the damage and i think that's accurate and far more tricky than a card saying that
thats crazy you're definitely not wrong but I meat like specifically "improved by spell damage"
Big fan of the quizes, I only got 2 right though. Much like Transfer Student, I didn't do very well.
'How can hunter keep up' when its impossible to stick ANY boards for the rest of the game past turn 4 against it is crazy lmaoo
1 silver hand
2 the 3 mana summon 2 2 manas for mage
3 *shrug*
4 about half of his total ammount lol
5 4 mana cards you draw cost health
sneaky bloons music

Cant believe that you forgot about skull of gul'dan
card has been bad for years
Radiant elemental hasn't been nerfed like apprentice because it is worse against waste warden
I got a 1.5/5 because I do not know wild that well, and can't remember card names. I got question 3 right and 2 half right, because I couldn't remember the name but did know the effect

EDIT: thought answers would be in the next video, so uhh, i guess this counts as a 0/6 score?
No.4 none, cus deck other than shadow priest don't exist (miracle priest is a war crime we don't talk about)
Wildpaw Gnoll costs 6.
"Sure you do ramp! Ramp into cheating!"

“Druid is a rat bastard” SO TRUE
Hunter has good mana cheat in egg hunter

Does "to damn many" count as correct correct
Hey this is a nitpick but could you read out the cards mana cost stats and text, I listen to these on my walk so itd be nice
I do not miss Libram Pally
great video. more like this please
You are releasing so many videos.
it takes like 1-2 hours to make them so I just jam them out
I thought succubus was banned to protect the children xD
succubus was banned to protect china
L video, miracle priest gang stay winning 💪
Isn't DK's Horn of winter considered as mana cheat?

yeah conman repeating it is the real killer, the turn 5 tsunami is annoying but if they could only do it once it would probably be fine?
I remember trying to use Radiants + Ryza in standart (wow, back in Ungoro) to go random bullshit go
as u can tell i t wasnt a good gameplan lmao
Is warlocks discard mechanic also a form of mana cheat? (I only got question 2)
yeah on discard effects are also mana cheat
Is the OST more bloons? Can't tell but its good to stick it to the haters
its always been bloons yes
WRONG, the first card who would benefit from spd outside from damage is gvg gnome(forgot his name), which battlecry is if you have spell damage, draw a card, HA
don’t remember
spirit claws
giovane birraio and like mastro birraio (I play the game in italian so the translation is a bit scuffed)
too many
your voice is back, yippe
10/10 video
I got 1.5 correct
