    I just bought a Marin Four Corners in Jan. 2021. I absolutely love it! I have rode this bike all over Santa Cruz County and it performs beautifully. Planning a bike packing adventure in late spring and am confident this bike will do great. It is a very comfortable bike and tons of fun to ride.

    As I get back into biking more in my early 50s the more upright riding position is looking more and more appealing. I was 28 when my current bike was new so it might be time to think of my next set of wheels.

      The four corners could be exactly what you're looking for. I have helped many friends in your situation pick the four corners and I don't think any of them have thought it was a bad decision.

    A great bike indeed :) I bought mine in January 2018 and since then been using it a lot for bike-touring, but also as an all-pourpose-monstercross-style of bike. The geometry, though I can agree it looks kind of weird, but sets you up in a super-comfortable position and I can spend all day in the saddle without any kind of discomfort at all (even on gravel and ditrt roads that can be pretty though in eastern Europe). It is build for comfort and definitely exceeds in this aspect. Also, huge frame, long chainstay and long headtube give a lot of room for bags, so you can pack it up both in the bikepacking style or in a more traditional (I'm thinking: panniers) way. And I can agree that this bike can go through everything. The gear range of triple Sora is wide enough so you can actually ride it in more hilly environment even with 55 pounds of extra luggage. I use this bike with 29x2.0 mtb tires (Vittoria Saguaro) and with this set-up It rides like the devil incarnated through woodland trails and gravel roads. And it keeps me smiling :)

    Good review. This bike is bullet proof. It's a great gravel bike. My wife and I go to Pennsylvania every summer to ride the Rails to Trails up there. The Four Corners is perfect for those rides.

      David Unger, do you still have the Marin Four Corners? If so do you still like it? A friend and I rode the GAP trail a couple of years ago. I'm looking at getting a new bike and the Four Corners is on my list. Not a whole lot of reviews out there though. Thanks.

    Just by chance watched one of your videos, actually several and have subscribed. You give good insights and encouraging advice. This is from across the pond, I'm looking for that almost one quiver bike just so I don't have to load my fat bike to drive to the nearest trail. Just straight out of my home and on a mix of surfaces, perfect!

    Love my Gestalt X11. Marin makes awesome/solid bikes. I treat the X11 like a MTB and it begs for more. I plan to pick up the Four Corners for my wife. Which bag is that?

    • @TheBicycleRider
      @TheBicycleRider  4 роки тому +1

      I like your choice of bikes between the Gestalt and the four corners those are two awesome bikes. I just finished a mountain bike so I'm out on the trail as I'm sending this message but the bag is really neat it's a lezyne I might be spelling it wrong but when I get to the shop on Monday I'll get the model and spell the name right but it's a really cool bag

    How much does bike weight matter?
    I figure I weigh 150 lbs, so the total weight difference between a 30lb bike and a 20lb bike is just about 6%.

    Are the spokes prone to breaking while touring because it has 32 spokes instead of 36?

    • @TheBicycleRider
      @TheBicycleRider  2 роки тому +2

      We haven't had any cases of broken spokes on the four corners as of yet and we have sold many of them to people who tour both on pavement and gravel .

      @TheBicycleRider  2 роки тому

      I know the 4-Corners is excellent! I have no personal experience with the Bergamot nor have I ever seen one come through the bike shop , sorry

      @@TheBicycleRider I would be surprised if you find any Bergamont in the USA . they are from Hamburg Germany , my current home city since 2009. they have only been going a decade or so along with Stevens also out of Hamburg.
      Bergamot only build in Aluminum and Carbon so there is not real comparison also at this price point to .
      the Bergamots have some good spec's and nice bikes , but I think the Four Corners has it beat in terms of carrying ability and ruggedness. and price .
      the only point I can find is sizing Marin stop at XL and that would be a problem here with a lot of people over 194 and even 200 cm . now I am not sure if Marin use the different sizing or should I say smaller sizes found in Mountain biking which back in the old days was usually two sizes smaller or a few cm's small than a road bike. but I am finding most of these adventure bikes top out at around about 58 to 60 cm , so that could be a bit cramped for the likes of me at 194 /6ft 4ichs .
      I want to get one of these but I do not want to end up with a bike I then have to mess around with or send back.
      so far their sizing charts are coming up 3 cm to small for me in XL and there is no XXL.
      anyhow greeting from Hamburg.
