Yes, you can find out a forgotten password, but only with the help of special programs. is it possible to know what your forgotten password was instead of removing it? thanks in advance.
Yes, you can find out a forgotten password, but only with the help of special programs.
If you are worried about deleting a password, then I will say in response that there will be no harm to the PC, because after deleting the password you can enter Windows and immediately create a new password, but all these actions are only for a local account.
Resetting a forgotten Microsoft account password requires other steps.
@@ipMalik yeah I'm aware but what is this way of knowing it?
@@knighttonine If you're asking how to find out a forgotten password, I don't know..
And I don't understand why it's so important for you to know

This why I hate Microsoft!you pay gobs of money for a pc yet you can use it if something happens to your pin. I have had other frustrations with the pc that is not of my own doing . We have bought 5 Macs in the last 10 years that have never given us any nightmares!
Maybe you just got unlucky with PC.

I try but after i restart it it keeps loading and loading!!! Restarting and restarting ? Why?? Please
If your PC after all the steps began to constantly reboot, do the following:
force shutdown the PC, then turn it on, open the command prompt and again go all the way from the beginning.
The only thing - on one of the steps, do it differently, when you open "Setup Tupe", instead of 0, put 1, but not 2, this should solve the problem.

For method-3: It would be nice to do all the registry hive mods from command line as well, without having to open regedit. Then script it, so you could just run a bat or ps file to do the work.

@ipMalik do I have to change any settings made? I used the method via regedit
Very concise video, great job! Question: The "user name: on the pc I am helping a user with is "John Doe", but John Doe does not show when executing net user, only Administrator and Guest. I assume that John Doe is an administrator on this PC but cannot change the "Administrator" password using net user as access is denied. What are my next steps?

@@ipMalik Thank you for your help, I found success! After I executed "net localgroup administrators newusername /add" command I was able to log on with my newusername and navigate to the "Users" folder on the "C" drive and saw the user "Home" folder which contained the files I was looking for! Under Settings>System>About the device name shows "Home-PC". What is interesting is when I execute the command "net user" I NOW see the user "Home" listed where I hadn't before. Why does "Home" show now?
@@kc0rock I'm also glad you got access to your files! 🙂
User "Home" appeared after changing the settings, nothing surprising.
In order to avoid any confusion in the future use of the computer, I recommend transferring your files to another disk or USB flash drive and then installing a new Windows 10 or 11 with the complete removal of all old data on drive C.
My laptop has done something unusual, when trying to unlock it, after hours of trying and it saying failed I decided to attempt to wipe it, I then stopped the process to go through how long it will take. I then entered my password again and it worked?? I usually do not connect with the Internet when I enter my password. This time I was connected when it worked.
Yes, it was a miracle!

On the last step, an error occourd say 8646, any advice?, It says system is not authoritataive for the specified acct
Error 8646 indicates that your computer is running a Microsoft account whose password, unlike a local account, cannot be reset on the PC.
The fact is that the Microsoft account password is stored on the Microsoft website and is constantly synchronized with the PC, and therefore it is possible to reset such a password on the PC only with the help of special programs.
Now try to do the following:
log in to your outlook profile on the Microsoft website on your phone or from another PC and while logging in, click "Forgot your password" or "Sign in options" and then follow the system recommendations.
After you change the forgotten password, you need to turn on the locked PC and enter a new password, the PC must be connected to the Internet:
account.microsoft.com/account?lang=en-by
If this does not help, please let me know and I will try to help you, there are other options.
Does not work for me. I did the steps and after it said it did the password thing completed in the cmd prompt there still a password on the administrator account

@@ipMalik it did have a Microsoft account but it’s no longer active, it was a works computer. It also has bitlocker so I’m struggling to gain access to the correct drive … I was in the x: drive! Not sure you can help with the bitlocker part so I’ll have to contact the company to see if they have the key…
@@brianandrews8666 If Bitlocker is enabled in Windows, then at the step where you need to select a disk with Windows and open it
Timecode 03:50
the disk with Windows will be displayed with a "lock" icon and it will be impossible to open such a disk.
If Bitlocker is enabled in Windows, then the Bitlocker lock screen will open before the system boots, where you need to enter the Bitlocker password, and after that the system starts to boot.
It is not possible to disable Bitlocker before logging in without a key.
If there are no personal files on your computer, which you don't want to lose, then you can just install a new Windows 10 or Windows 11.
During the installation process, all old data on the C drive will be completely deleted, and Bitlocker data will also be deleted.
Thanks so much buddy. 👍👍💪Everything works just fine
