What Most Filipino Houses Forget To Install

  • We're back with another update on the Skypod renovations, and today I want to share something crucial that many Filipino homes tend to overlook-a cistern tank, aka the "generator for your water"!
    Living in an area with unstable water supply or facing a water shortage due to natural disasters can be a real challenge, but having a cistern tank can make all the difference. It's a must-have for any home, especially here in the Philippines.

    Quick correction. The float switch that i show in this video is for the switch for the water pump that supplies the house, not supplying the cistern. Thanks for pointing that out Omeng Tubero (from facebook).

      Also, tipid tips, meron ding mga float valves similar to the ones na nagkakarga ng water sa mga toilet, that you can use para sa mga tanks if youre getting their supply from your main water line directly 😊

      Oks ang cistern pag may enough space ka pa sa lot mo pero pag sa mga typical houses na setback lang ang open space mas pinipili nilang mag overhead tank or the usual water tank para sa supply ng water

    That's a great reminder for everyone. Since water is the subject, have you looked into getting a "drinking water generator" ? It is a portable machine (different sizes available) that produces clean drinking water OUT OF THIN AIR.

    Im not a fan of underground water cisterns. Cracks may happen due to earthquakes or even sloppy construction. Slaters aesthetic concern could be addressed by creating a half basement. Then place several tanks. The tanks are above ground. Can be easily maintained. If a tank has a crack, it can be readily replaced. Leaks/cracks can be easily detected as opposed to one that is completely underground.

    Hello sir, pls also eveluate the chlorine levels in the disinfection, it should be not as high since there will be byproducts of Chlorine that can also cause cancer like chlorates or reacting with THM.
    You can include it in the water testing aside microbiological load to be sure 😊

    Conservative estimate. you will spend initial 50k for a 1k liters of water using stainless tanks that might be in good use for many years. if kulang ang tank mo for consumption just add another tank for storage. 1k liters tank is 20k .

    What is the size of your cistern tank, some houses in Batangas the you can actually go inside to clean but they collect rain water and so far no treatment is done, they usually it except for drinking, and there is one I know in Laguna that uses stainless tank to directly collect rain water, I like the idea that you have a filter for drinking water

    Yes cistern tank are a must in every house hold, but in reality many to most home owners are not responsible enough or shall i say know how to maintaining it XD
    I rerequire ni architect sa design kasi ngyn required cya pero magugulat n lng si owner need nya mag maintain ng ganun, lol XD
    Kaya as an architect naging solution ko sa owners na ganyan i highly suggest them tank talaga, easy for then to maintain and nakikita nila lage kaya di nila nakakalimutan na meron pala sila nun, for multuple level houses i suggest one lower tank and one higher tank, best option if ever 😁

      @exelixium Місяць тому

      @@oturanuzumaki2366 Ang cistern water ay hindi din safe kaya tine-test niya ito regularly at nilalagyan ng chlorine para matanggal ang mga pathogen. Besides, there should be a filter that the cistern water goes through before it is used, either for bathing or dishwashing; and a more extensive filter for drinking.
