YES! Demian!!!!! I've seen people saying that the song is very interesting and can be overwhelming sometimes, but to me is simply BRILLIANT! It easily became one of my favorites from them and even kpop as a whole! 😄 Fireflies is so beautiful as well, they never miss on ballads (maybe check out 'Always' too)! I'm glad you're still checking Dreamcatcher's discography -- it's very unique and amazing.
Talking about DC's range of songs, they actually have a Christmas song coming out on the 20th, "My Christmas Sweet Love." It's also being accompanied with a "Carol Version" of two of their other songs, Wonderland and Jazz Bar.
Thanks for checking out more Dreamcatcher! 39:10 "They do so many genres so well". This, 100% this. This is why Insomnia are always trying to get people to check out stuff outside their title tracks. And this, 38:20 "They're so good at singing", is why they're able to pull off so many genres. Dreamcatcher are SINGERS, this is what they sound like live, and it's so infuriating seeing people listen to one or two title tracks and say something like, "I don't really like rock music" or "I understand what type of music they make now", and then never listen to them again. It's maddening. So thank you for taking the time to actually listen to songs that are not title tracks. I really enjoy your breakdowns and all the call outs to the things in production or vocals that stand out to you.
During the making of Bon Voyage, SuA was really up in the air in the scene where she was reaching for the dove. In a behind the scenes, they show her hanging from wires. So we can now add "stuntperson" to her talent array.
I agree with you, InSomnia that recommended these songs is really know you and your preference of music... For me, *Bon Voyage* is crowned as my favorite title track, *Demian* is crowned as my favorite overall B-side, and *Firefly* is crowned as my favorite ballad from Dreamcatcher's discography... I feel like we have a quite similar taste of musics in general... So, welcome aboard, to the universe of Dreamworld... We really love to have another brother InSomnia... I just want to point some interesting songs by them, cause I feel like you would find them great in their own criterias (knowing how vary Dreamcatcher's genres are) : *Jazz Bar* *Silent Night* *July 7th* *Endless Night* *Fairy Tale* *Reason* Regardless, great reaction as always, stay safe, keep healthy, and have great days
No, I actually had no idea about his preferences. I suggested Bonvoyage and Demian cause he already had reacted to Propose. And for the other 3, I wanted to show Dreamcatcher's range, choreos and harmonies. Fireflies is my favorite ballad so I wanted to throw it in there for sure. I'm happy he liked all the songs I requested!
@@DreamieQueen well, in that case, kudos for your intuitions mate... And that makes us have pretty similar taste of musics in general... Glad that we can communicate Queen, or the fellow Queen's followers... Stay safe, keep healthy, and have great days
Another great set of songs, they've been at this for almost 8 years so they have so much more for you to check out, can't wait to see more reactions, it's always fun to enjoy these songs again together. As someone who came from mainly rock music and some metal before getting into K-pop, Dreamcatcher quickly became one of my favourites, and I love so much other types of K-pop as well, but despite my bias towards them it still makes me feel sort of proud to say I do agree that Dreamcatcher is a VERY strong group vocally. I'm sure everyone is already telling you about their storylines and to check out those songs, but one of my favourite Dreamcatcher title tracks is a standalone song called _BEcause_ , and one of my favourite b-sides is called _Mayday_ 😊They do have a clip for _Mayday_ where they perform it live in the studio with a band composed of fans; even though I usually would prefer to check out a studio version personally, I can say that video is really great.
You can't see it too well in the performance video but the Sua move at 30:27 is still one of my favorite DC choreo moments ever. Definitely recommend watching live stages just for that. Everyone is DC is an amazing dancer but sometimes she really has to remind us that she's *main* dancer for a reason, lmao
As others have pointed out already, BonVoyage is the third installment of the Apocalypse Trilogy, a trio of songs / MV's related to saving the planet. BonVoyage is basically a love letter to planet Earth.
Excited to follow some new music with you. I love your perspective on the voices and the instrumentation of each song. You've got that ear for music that's deep and not just surface. Thanks fr Canada.💜💜
So surprised to hear DEMIAN is your fav song! So interesting to hear everyone's preferences. Red Sun is a Korean reference of being hypnotized🌀 Love your in depth analysis as per usj.
There's a version of black or white they performed during an online concerts, and I love all the changes they made and the live band sounded incredible I think you'll really enjoy it! This whole concert was mostly rearranged/acoustic versions of their songs, there's a deja vu performance as well! Here's a link for the black or white performance if you wanted to check it out ua-cam.com/video/AC9mVQK1gTc/v-deo.htmlsi=XnZjTf8wRC1hkb_Z
"Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell, representing nature. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, right? My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity). SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace. The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal. Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. The Korean in the beginning of "Demian" means "Stay forever my Demian". The book Demian by German author Hermann Hesse is about Emil Sinclair, who is a young boy raised in a middle class home, amidst what is described as a "Scheinwelt" (a play on words meaning "world of light" as well as "world of illusion"), so the entire existence can be summarized as a struggle between two worlds: the show world of illusion and the real world, the world of spiritual truth. Accompanied and prompted by his mysterious classmate and friend "Max Demian", he detaches from and revolts against the superficial ideals of the world of appearances and eventually awakens into a realization of self. It is about the duality of the world, and Dreamcatcher know quite a bit about duality. 😉 I believe that is also why they cover half of their face in the choreo. The choreo was done by SuA, and she did a brilliant job! Musically I really enjoy Demian, it has some elements of ProgRock in it, which is one of my beloved genres of music.
Yes, there is a story in Bon Voyage as there is in all Dreamcatcher title tracks, but since it's the third song in the Apocalypse trilogy you won't know what it is without watching the the three MVs in the order they were released. Maison, Vision, Bon Voyage. With almost all Kpop the order of the songs doesn't matter, but with Dreamcatcher it really does matter if you're interested in the stories they're telling, which reflect their personal beliefs and values. If you're only interested in the music then it doesn't matter which is perfectly OK. Everyone approaches Dreamcatcher in their own way. It's all good, but I think you'll get more out of the songs if you know what they're about.
haha nice just you wait till you get to hear JAZZ BAR , DREAMCATCHER are the only ones that can blend any style out their and turn around and make it theirs and are not afraid to try out new things that every other group both guy and girl groups with out a doubt and without question .

He did Always on the last reaction to them!
Our queen Sua choreographed Demian and Red Sun as well, so there's that extra pride whenever I see those songs performed. Such a talented group

Except Handong/Gahyun, they’ve been at it for more than 10 years! Their Minx songs honestly still hold up pretty well, haha.
