This is very good advice Miss Jo Moon. I have been married to a Chinese woman for 20 years and I am still learning about her culture from the Chinese medicine that often seems to work for her but not me to the foods she eats and the family ties. She is on the phone with her sisters every day but if they are together they fight like cats and dogs. It took me awhile to get used to no affection in public even after all these years. I laughed at your reference to the little brother. And of course there is never 50/50. I was not raised that way. The man always pays.
Re Chinese medicine... I bust my neck in a motor accident a long time ago. I was experiencing constant pain. One of my customers/associates in Hong Kong was a TCM practitioner. He gave me awful, in the sense of puke/shitting, awful medicine to drink, and spent 3 months manipulating my spine and neck. Never felt better.
@Arnold Seay Chinese medicine appears to work on her and doesn't work at all on you because she is far more culturally conditioned to believe it works - classic placebo effect. I was in a relationship with a Chinese girl and her mother who practiced traditional Chinese medicine decided she wanted to break us up, and sewed in my ex's supposedly PhD level supposedly scientific brain that I would die in my 50's of heart disease no matter what I do with my health because I have a mole on my nose. My then girlfriend then dissolved into irrationality and couldn't be reasoned with. It was like her parents did a system reset on her and wiped out the personality of the girl I knew and loved. Also, she broke up with me on the phone by phrasing it as wanting to 'take a break', and then ghosted me.
WOW! YOU HAVE NAILED THIS! GREAT ADVICE! DO NOT DISREPECT HER CULTURE AND FAMILY! IT SPEAKS TO THE TRUE FEELINGS OF HER SUITOR. I ALWAYS MADE MY DECISION OF WHO I DATE LONG TERM BY WATCHING HOW SHE TREATS HER FAMILY ESPECIALLY HER PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS.
THE VALUES YOU TALK ABOUT IN CHINESE CULTURE RELATIVE TO DATING A WOMAN IN CHINA ARE TRADITONAL BUILDING BLOCKS OF CREATING A STRONG FOUNDATION FOR LOVE. I AGREE THAT GHOSTING on both sides is the act of an immature coward! A scorned woman can be something a man is not prepared to deal with...so keep it real from the very start. CREATING FRIENDSHIP FIRST IS THE BEST WAY TO DEVEOPING A RELATIONSHIP WHETHER YOU STAY IN IT TOGTHER...OR DECIDE TO GO SEPARATE WAYS! JO I SUGGEST THAT YOU DO NOT MEETME. YOU MAY NOT REMAIN SINGLE! HAHA!
Very good advice. I especially like the part about not expecting to go dutch with her. Men seem to forget that part of male attractiveness is our ability to garner resources and show that we are good providers. Especially in a country like China were men and women have very well defined gender roles. When I was dating in Shenzhen I noticed that women will occasionally pay for stuff but the ratio is not fifty fifty. For every 5 dates I paid for they would pay for 1. And I was happy to pay because China has so many smart, beautiful young women that are super eager to date foreign men. C'mon guys, don't be 小气!😅
In China…. Love = (always) is about two hearts meeting in a space made of cooperation, mutual-respect, caring & sharing. Sex = is (mostly) about “a loving gift”. There may be some variations about this… to each their own. MOSTLY, when we care about the other person, we’re glad that they’re happy. That makes us happy too. Two can be happy… three can be happy… two billion can be happy.. And the whole Earth can be happy too!!!!!
I concur with the part about not coming on too strong and being aggressive too fast. My family is from Puerto Rico. In the Caribbean we are very outward and affectionate with one another, even in the beginning of a relationship. I dated a nice woman from china and I think I pushed her away as I was too quick to try to 'seduce' her. She liked me for sure. But I did not understand the differences in our culture. We as Hispanic men are expected to be aggressive from the beginning. I guess this is a difference in culture. Although I find Chinese women to be stunning I may have to just stick to my own kind going forward. Still, a very nice video, thank you very much!
@@worldview730 Perhaps so. I'd love to give it a go with a good woman from China. I like their family values and femininity. Where I live in central Flordia, there are not may opportunities. I'm hoping to spend some time travelling in Asia in the next couple of years, so that may change. Thanks for the comment.
@Realrichar They are definitely attracted to Hispanic men, but you have to be able to engage in conversations and show that you value hard work. Intelligence helps a lot because they are well educated.
Helpful thanks. Your advice - don't get into a relationship with a Chinese woman if you don't want to get married, is interesting. I wasn't sure I did at first, but we did go down that path, and living in China with our kid... although rocky, is working out.
Interesting. Lets not change the definition of gold diggers based on the amount of money men have in their bank account. Gold digging can be small money or big money. It all comes down to the “intentions” of any lady from any country. If the intentions are extracting resources as a way to “use” that person she’s simply is a gold digger. As a person who’s well traveled. Women would go on many dates to get their food paid for. Therefore saving her own income without the intentions of forming something serious. Ive also know women that would ask for $50 which isn’t a lot but when she’s doing that with 50 other men, $50 turns out to be a lot especially in a foreign country that’s less expensive. As far as splitting the bill, it depends on her views and values. If she’s a feminist, there’s no way in hell im paying 100% of everything, we splitting the bill regardless if she’s Chinese, White, Latina, Indian, Middle Eastern, Native American etc. Me paying for the bill, she’s gotta be traditional as you mentioned in the video. Which means 1. Cooperative 2. Submissive 3. Feminine 4. Fit 5. Friendly As you mentioned in your other video, not all women are submissive. Well, if im paying for everything while she gets to keep all of her money…she better be all 5 things on that list. No way im taking care of someone who is masculine, loud, bossy, non cooperative, and not submissive My point here is “women can’t have it both ways”. They must pick and choose one or the other. They want traditional men, then we expect them to be traditional too. They want to be feminists, then feminists men expects splitting the bill 50/50 Thanks for the video
All great advice. I am from the states and I've been married to my Chinese wife for almost 28 years now! We met in the States while she was a MBA student and have been living in China for 26 of those years with no intention of changing anything. Enjoy life
I went to China in 2018 after I met a Chinese woman online for the past 3 years. When I went to see her and want to spend 2 weeks, the first 12 hours she didn't want anything to do with me and has no feelings with me. That was like a shock to me. I thought we could try for the next 2 days and see how that goes. But she changed and gets mad at me for unimportant things and shouts at me. She started to keep her distance from me and spends time with her friends. After being in China for first 4 days and no fellowship with me at all, I reluctantly decided to pack up my suitcases, give no gifts I had prepared for her, and leave China the next day. I was fed up with her treating me like an outcast. She's the worst Chinese woman I have ever met in China. So she gets nothing from me, because she DID nothing for me.
Interesting, I've noticed that Chinese women are conservative. Especially traditional Chinese women. I've watched plenty of Chinese TV shows and movies. For example, I've watched the excellent TV series Romance Of The Three Kingdoms and the interactions between husband and wife were loving, but conservative. For example,Zhou You and his wife Xaio Qiao didn't kiss each other or were too touchy. I admire Chinese culture, and it's so beautiful. I study a lot of Chinese culture, also am learning Chinese. If I'm taking a woman out on a date, I'm paying.
I pay simply because it's me who plan the date and I want to go to the places I want to go without caring if she has the money for it or not! 🤷🏻♂️ that was always my approach! I do appreciate the women helping since that translates as us being able to spend more time together and going to more places! But that's is when seriousness goes up!
Yeah, but if you're married to a Chinese women; like me, you're fully aware of the strength of culture, and stereotypes. For instance *"love."* Regardless of however much, however desired, under no circumstances, will she ever espouse to her mother *"I love you."* We live in Japan, she has a phenomenal, career, and spending money on me is an addiction for her, so I'm not referencing the money topic, there are many, MANY taboos (like spending money on men) that no matter how much she dissagrees, no matter how much she desires, will under no circumstances do it. If Chinese women are unwilling to spend money on their spouse there's no changing it.
Guys Rule1. Never take dating advice from any woman from any culture. Rule 2. Don't get married ever. Rule 3. Don't date ed thewomen past 25. Rule 4. Rinse and Repeat
Based on my experience, this is all rock-solid advice…sorry though I am to say it. I wish I had seen this years ago, because nearly all of this was learned the hard way. The last chunk of advice in here I would do anyway, but good to know.
I 100% agree with the ghosting part. Experienced it once and it really sucks. I'm not against a break up, it's good and nobody's time is wasted. But breaking by ghosting or almost ghosting is a waste of time for the other and also such an asshole move. Men, women, don't ever do that pls
11:38 Yes I absolutely agree on your statement about ghosting and how it is, in your words, disgusting and brutal. What's even more disturbing is how some people actually champion this type of behavior and offer no sympathy, support, or assuagement--yet they're so quick to tell you things like "nobody owes you anything", "nobody cares about your feelings", "you need to just get over it and move on", etc. To say the least I find it to be very highly disturbing and it royally pisses me off. It seems to be very rare when I find a woman that's actually honest about her intentions instead of being petty and ghosting, which I personally believe is rooted in deception and not to mention, childish as all hell.
if my wife ever dumps me, I'll have to revisit this video...lol. your humor is much appreciated, regardless of the subject. it makes it more interesting. stay well...wife says hi.
This was a good video, but I think I disagree with the part toward the end that when breaking up with a Chinese girlfriend, you should give her the reasons. Doing so will only cause arguments, resentments, pleading to not end things, pledges and promises to fix the problems, etc. It is better to not get into the reasons, unless there is one big, overarching reason that cannot be ignored. I just broke up with my Chinese girlfriend of 1.5 years. I did not tell her the reasons, and explained why I wasn't doing so. I simply said that I don't envision us having a future together, and it is better for us to end things now rather than drag it out.
I would add a couple of things here. It is natural for them to want to married up but no one bother to tell them its not an equal relationships but the Jo said roles are well established. Secondly, watch out for them pushing towards wanting to live in your Western country. The motivation may not be pure as it seems.
Very well done, I was struck by the many similarities between women’s feelings and beliefs to those in the US. S few unique to China, but people are more alike than different!! Of course there always men that do not understand basic human emotions.
Basically, not only in China but almost all over the world at the exception of about 1-2%, marriage destroys love. Love switches to another type of relationship, especially if there are kids included.
I want to say something about the so called traditionalism and Chinese girls being conservative. Once a Chinese friend told me that Chinese women often just pretend to be very conservative where in reality they actually aren't. He said that he hates this game and that he is fed up with it. I have experienced a lot of things during these years in China and I really cannot say that Chinese girls are conservative tbh. On the contrary, they are quite open, especially if they like you. My ex gf for example had s.. with me on the second date. And she is not the only one. Maybe I was just lucky, idk. but I think I agree with what my Chinese friend told me. It's a secret that a lot of people don't know. Or maybe it's just that people in my side are more open.
Her Mother is a Supremely Key Figure >>>> if her Mother doesn't like you,[ approve of you ] it's over. "I love you she said, but how can I spend the rest of my life making My Mother Unhappy."
Women are the same everywhere. After the initial attraction they are driven to get 3 things from the man. 1, wealth (money) 2, Status (prestige) 3, utilitarian value (what can he do for me).
My wife of 22 years is a traditional Filipina. However, she is mixed race, a tiny bit of Filipino blood, 1/4 Spanish and 75% Chinese. A lot of what you said applies to many Filipinas as well. There are some differences, but a lot of what you said fit my better half like a glove.
I noticed most Chinese ladies think a lot about money and material goods. Most of my male Chinese friends could never find a GF unless they owned a home and had a nice car. These were smart and decently handsome guys with good jobs. It was heartbreaking to see them get raked over the coals by the ladies😕
I'm on Jo's channel marathon. I can say unequivocally that all the values she outlined are pretty much African and Middle Eastern values when it comes to relationships and marriage. The West lost these values, not 'cos they're not ideal or desired but 'cos the West has "advanced" whatever that is 😊.
My Chinese wife, if we split the expenses, after a while, in her mind it becomes she is paying for everything (and I am paying “nothing” even if I keep up my half).
Once you've heard this a million times-in practically all cultures-you begin to realise most heterosexual relationships are just a form of prostitution. Sadly. But I suppose at the same time it does completely justify the use of actual prostitutes, if you're that way inclined. It's this part that women now have to accept. If they're bold enough to say they should be paid for (for whatever reason that suits them-they have all sorts of ways of justifying it) they can't concurrently have any issue with men's use of prostitutes. It's just exactly the same deal, albeit more direct (and better value for the man). In fact I'm starting to think it's the fact it represents better value for the man that they have the actual issue with. Not the morality or the principle of it.
Jo have you ever eaten Cod tongues, cod heads, or britches (Ovarian of the cod) Taste like sausage. ? There are some areas of western culture that have similarities. We didn't waste much because of being poor. My dad grew up on wild animals, like rabbits, moose, caribou, and tur (almost like Peking Duck). So he past it down to us. Our older culture carries the same thing some of China carries with family. In my province, there were no roads until the mid '60s. We lived on an island. Mostly fishing. Communities were all on the coastline. So everyone had to get along. There were no planes, trains, no police (They had rangers who did everything, just one in the community), or hospitals far away. I have already met a beautiful girl from Chongqing. I mentioned this to you already I know. I love listening to your videos. Thank You for the tips.

My mom still lives on the island. I know if you lived in a rural area of China you would have loved our island. If you seen my dad you would say he looks Chinese.
Thank you for this video. I am 58 yrs old, own my own business, but I have nowhere the worth of the 53 yr old Chinese lady I am dating. I can afford luxury restaurants, trips and never go 50/50 and won't. She does bring this up that she has to have a wealthier man, but the friends and lovers relationship is definitely on the table, and its moving in that direction, we really hit it off. Here is the thing, I understand that the likelihood of me finding a model 20 years younger than me are about the same of her finding a wealthy man in a big city at 53 years old who isn't wearing diapers (she's attractive and thin but not multi multi-millionaire attractive) Does reality sink in with Chinese women in these situations? She obviously finds me attractive and fun and we connect. But the likelihood of finding that combined package is like winning lotto. Just curious how you see this?
@@JoMoon Thanks for the reply. I agree, she is very straight forward about this. Fortunately at this stage in my life I am secure in myself and accept things as they are. My only 2 rules with her are that I am treated with respect and when we are going out, it's as a couple and that's about it.. (I blew her off when she was making the point that she has to be with a wealthy man and that she is open to more than friends...she came back and I adjusted my expectations). I've never dated Chinese women and I actually appreciate the blunt directness. I kind of feel sorry for her in a way, she is quite wealthy and the pool of the "someone better's" is very very small at this age and getting smaller. She has wealthy suitors but she can't stand them and we keep going out. It's all good as long as I know the rules though.

I met a Chinese lady at a work place we both worked for. We became friends and would go out for lunch time walks, that was over 20 years ago. More recently I called her for a dinner and movie date and we had a great night, we have been together since. She is separated from her husband for 4 years and does not want to talk about divorce, I can tell she still loves him in some way. This is ok for me, if she goes back to him, their family will be together again which would be great for them. Right now I'm taking advantage of the fun with her. No strings.

I need to make a comedy video of that concept of not getting too physical in an Asian country hahaha. My concept is that a Hispanic man (like me) is with his Asian girlfriend, not necessary Chinese but Taiwanese, Vietnamese or even Japanese, and in the street, he sometimes closes his eyes, takes a deep breath and repeats to himself "don't show affection in public", but he's kind of torturing himself by resisting the desires of showing physical love to his girlfriend hahaha. Then they finally arrive at their own place living together, and the man jumps on his girlfriend and hugs her and kisses her like if there's no tomorrow hahaha! Of course, telling her that he loves her so much, and the girl allows him to do all of that because she never experienced such a degree of passionate love coming from a man. Asians and Hispanics are totally different when it comes to showing affection. We, the Hispanics, are very passionate and show affection to our girlfriends/boyfriends no matter if we're in public, of course, WITHOUT being erotic. Greetings from Peru.
😂😂😂 Im from Portugal and am the same ... I'm seriously thinking if I should date or not because of it! Physical touch is a serious thing to me ( holding hands, touching her face or hair, putting a hand on her lap) it's not even about the kissing since I like to kiss but am not the type will eat someone's face 😅... What can I say... Physical touch it's one my ways of expressing love and care and it's my drug.😅
Ghosting is the worst. This happened to me twice within a few months, once with a Western girl, once with a Latina girl. Now, I am talking for hours every day with a wonderful, beautiful, warm and smart Chinese girl. She is so strong and smart, but also very sweet and feminine. Oh, she is very feminine! Wow. She seems perfect. I have never had a relationship with a Chinese girl before. No-one else can compare to her.
These may be good things for the girls, but this type of dating is especially bad news. It teaches the girls in this case to be controlling and manipulative. Expecting men to behave a certain way, bring flowers, chase you, and take pride in you in front of others, are secretly manipulation tactics. If she marries the guy, she’ll continue to play these games, and her husband will eventually get tired of such antics making her and her partner unhappy. If you like him as he naturally is - no flowers and so on, then you'll be much happier if he becomes your husband.
I dated a Chinese girl like this. She was way too deep into dramas. Initially, I found it cute and didn't mind playing along, but later, it got tiring and annoying. I had to come back to reality and deal with real-life issues while she was in her Disney world. I never felt this lonely in my life. After a while, I asked to break up.

_So much for women wanting "equality" - they do (equal pay) and they don't (equal pay out). Nice and clever._

👍👍 Very good point Craig!
HAHA!
Excellent report!! Straightforward, clear and smart!! Thank you so very much. (From usa)

Once again, very useful information, Ms. Moon. Thank you.
Useful for who ? Simps that listen to women demands? Ask if she knows how to make a sandwich!! Guys are the prize!!!!
😅😅
What happens if a 38 year Asian celebrity is dating a 20 year old Chinese Atmosphere Model from China . Does the rules still apply?
Until a Chinese woman takes revenge on you!
You said "A" Chinese woman. There are over a billion Chinese, sure you didn't meet a different type of woman
@@worldview730 Perhaps so. I'd love to give it a go with a good woman from China. I like their family values and femininity. Where I live in central Flordia, there are not may opportunities.
Lovely
Which means
1. Cooperative
2. Submissive
3. Feminine
4. Fit
5. Friendly
As you mentioned in your other video, not all women are submissive. Well, if im paying for everything while she gets to keep all of her money…she better be all 5 things on that list. No way im taking care of someone who is masculine, loud, bossy, non cooperative, and not submissive
My point here is “women can’t have it both ways”. They must pick and choose one or the other. They want traditional men, then we expect them to be traditional too. They want to be feminists, then feminists men expects splitting the bill 50/50
Thanks for the video
That’s a really bad experience…All the best!

I found this cogent, wise, and smart for any relationship and most civil cultures.
So basically skip the Chinese option unless they are westernized.
If she loves you - she will pay for you! My wife does - chongqing wife.
Not true at all. She will pay for you if you are white. An Asian Mmale partner is expected to pay. Talk about racism!😂
Thinks for the information. It was very helpful.

I 100% agree with the ghosting part. Experienced it once and it really sucks. I'm not against a break up, it's good and nobody's time is wasted. But breaking by ghosting or almost ghosting is a waste of time for the other and also such an asshole move. Men, women, don't ever do that pls
Thank you for the sincere and thought prvoking advises.

Yes I absolutely agree on your statement about ghosting and how it is, in your words, disgusting and brutal.
This applies to all women. A woman is a woman no matter where they come from.

Thank you for some really good advice

I would add a couple of things here. It is natural for them to want to married up but no one bother to tell them its not an equal relationships but the Jo said roles are well established. Secondly, watch out for them pushing towards wanting to live in your Western country. The motivation may not be pure as it seems.

Hello 👋 nice to meet 😊 thank you, i like Asian girls, thank you for your advice 4:45 i respect Chinese woman very much e

Thank you so much. Great video with helpful insights and solid suggestions. Liked & subscribed. I will check out your other videos!

It seems that she wants someone “better”

Common sense, comes in different ways
I met a Chinese lady at a work place we both worked for. We became friends and would go out for lunch time walks, that was over 20 years ago. More recently I called her for a dinner and movie date and we had a great night, we have been together since. She is separated from her husband for 4 years and does not want to talk about divorce, I can tell she still loves him in some way. This is ok for me, if she goes back to him, their family will be together again which would be great for them. Right now I'm taking advantage of the fun with her. No strings.
I heard that Chinese women end relationships by ghosting and that it is common. I had a relationship with a Chinese woman and she brutally ghosted me multiple times.
Indeed, nobody wants to need to call in the Uncanny Counters just because they ghosted someone. Don't do it.

Chinese women in general, have a special beauty about them. I'm a black man who only dates chinese women. Once they're in love, they're completely in.
