Thanks Again these tutorials are a real help for many of us who just need a nudge in the right direction love your work
Rudy, thanks for the videos!
I will have to watch this later this week so I can get the autoupdate in pinup popper to work.
This was very helpful. Thanks a bunch man. I was able to finanlly get fulldmd now on my LCD dmd screen without the annoying black bars.. Just a few questions.
1. No matter whether i run the table from steam now or directly from popper, i have to click on the mouse a few times in order for the controls to work. Are you experiencing this as well?
2. I noticed now the dmd resolution is much less using freezy for pinball fx and M. Is that normal, since now its mirroring maybe?
3. Unless vsync is turned off, the flippers lag a bit. Are you experiencing this too in pinball fx or M?
1. No mine works great.
2. The dmd should look better. It is different because it makes it in dot format and not a solid image. Make sure you have it set to large scale in the settings ini
3. I will do a quick video on what I found to be the best settings with no lag.
@@rudysarcade Thanks man
This video got me going on my extra monitor thank you. I am though having issues with their new tables that are full color looking low resolution. What are the best adjustments for these? Is there a way to adjust only them?
Dmdext puts it into a dot format. You can adjust your dot settings in the dmddevice.ini
Great video! Thank you!
I have the colorization working out the frame won’t display. Any thoughts not covered in the video?
You have to enable the frame and adjust it in the dmddevice.ini
Thanks for the quick response! Still no dice. Frame is enabled (removed the semicolon). When adjusting the virtualdmd width and height to match my display resolution, as described, all It does is expand the dmd to the full size of the display. Something else is causing the frame not to open.
@jonny_deluxe in the dmddevice.ini you need to adjust the frame padding
Again, the speedy response is appreciated!
I figured It out! I watched your video, practically frame by frame, as you went through the .ini file. I compared It to mine. I noticed that you had a number of settings and styles that I didn’t have. So I grabbed the latest .ini from freeze, entered my configurations, pulled the fresh frame styles in, and bingo bango! Frame is now presenting. Thank you so much for the quick 1:1 help and all of your awesome tutorials!
Have you done any work with the newer fx or m table displays with the full color lcd-like scoreboards? Now, with external dmd active, those displays are black and white and slanted for me, even without the frame.
Thanks for the video, its great. Im cloning my system before i start this. Im worried about
1) not having the color files for every game.
2) is there anyway to use extdmd for the tables with old dmds and leave the new fullscreen color dmds alone?
If not do you happen to have the settings for the new full color dmd tables, like king kong for example, so that it looks normal?
I only saw 2 spots in your video where i need to change paths for the frames because i didnt setup my cabinet using baller, so i have Visual Pinball etc not Vpinball.
Are you aware of any other places?
I know thats alot of questions, i will figure it all out, but im going to have to try and explain this to a bunch of other people, (i will be linking your channel, if you dont mind ), but i have to really choose my wording etc carefully when explaining how to do this. Lol 😂 as clear as your video is, i understand what your talking about, so as i watch, immediately questions start going off in my head about the new dmds. Im hoping i can edit them, and blur out the dots and make it look normal. But when i try and explain this to others in help groups etc., i have to make sure everyone knows what a .zip file is. Lol 😂 just shoot me now and end it. Lol 😅 as always thank you for the video. Just waiting for my clone to finish.
One thing ive learned with virtual pinball, is nothing ever just works easy without breaking something else. Lol
I would set the vpinmame defaults in the setup.exe and setup64.exe with the color on. Then any table you don't want color just hit F1 and uncheck color and restart it.
@rudysarcade would hitting f1 and unchecking color, allow the normal full color animated dmd to appear? So basically for all the new dmd style tables we can just turn off color? We still need to have use external dmd checked off at the bottom right?
Thank you for responding so quickly, your one of the very few people who interacts with their subscribers. Very cool brother.
@@AJerseyJohnnyEntertainment not sure I follow you? What original full color dmd? Maybe watch my video on all the different types of dmds. ua-cam.com/video/M_VuwuVfj4c/v-deo.htmlsi=zRCDihWmKoe3XVpu
@@rudysarcade , pinballFX and pinballM have new full screen animated DMD's like new real pinball tables. The example I gave was the new king Kong table, my concern was using dmdext and what kind of affect colorizing all the old tables might have on those new table dmds.
I was asking since these are original pinballFX tables, there's no color roms, and just wanted to know what effect it any at all does this have on any of those tables.
@JerseyJohnnysElectronicsGaming oh yes they still work through externaldmd and let's you make them full screen. I mainly do VPX but FX is OK also
thank you that is great :),got it working and they look much better now , i just need a link to all of the files now :) i carnt find attack from mars :)
Como usar estes arquivos no Pinball FX M? (How to use these files in Pinball FX M?)
Do you know if the altcolor option works for Pinball FX3, or just Pinball FX? Thanks
Just FX has the built in external dmd
Is there a way to use different frames for Pinball M?
yes you can make any frame and add it to the dmddevice.ini just like the fx ones. or do like me and dont use a frame at all just make them full screen.
