Remember, if someone is trying to hypnotize you without your consent, just say no. It is fundamentally impossible for you to be hypnotized without your consent.
Now if only characters in fiction knew this, then so many issues would be circumvented.

This is actually not true for some. Most people haven't been conditioned by hypnosis enough, but those who use hypnosis a lot (especially of the wrong types) can become vulnerable without the right precautions to random hypnosis. Basically because they have been conditioned beforehand, they can be trained for their will to be bypassed when in trance. That's why it's best practice to always add protections to any indication to prevent others abusing their susceptibility.

here's the thing. What if you want to? You don't want *this person* to do that, but you still like it. You enjoy it. And they're skilled. They know what they're doing, keeping you off balance, unsteady, and *comfortable* so they can abuse you.
It's without your consent, but you're manipulated.

@@morningstarcollective4671 that is being hypnotized with your consent.
In case you could not tell, this is a joke, you obviously got manipulated into giving consent in that situation, which is never a possibility that is out of the question when it comes to situations where consent is needed. However my comment was about, and *only* about, situations where you never wanted to be hypnotized in the first place and likely had never been hypnotized before. (Because why else would I make the jab at the all too common “hypnosis against will” plots in tv shows, in the same comment where I said that as long as you never let yourself get hypnotized and set your mind to not getting hypnotized you will not get hypnotized.)

no, that is meditation (unless they stated otherwise). A simple search online will verify this.
They are similar enough to be confused commonly even by those who practice it. Those who practice it may do both.
Despite the similarities, they are very distinct. Meditation focuses on relaxation of your consciousness, it is mostly imagery, a headspace. Hypnosis focuses on setting the patient in a state where their subconscious stands out and they are easily convinced to do, belief, and more.

    • @legitbuzhuh
      @legitbuzhuh Рік тому +1

nah thats not hypnosis bruh, mindfulness is COMPLETELY different. A form of meditating gives you that literal superhuman effect. Its like taking a fucking xanax pill but better. relaxation, super focus, complete full control, kills anxiety, depression (that xanax effect), and it gives you that "im alive" type feeling. This shit is fucking secret to mind bruh

Unfortunately, I know people who use that assocation technique. One in particular used it to learn about repressed memories of others. Said person then used as leverage to gain favors or positions or even as extortion on their so-called friends. We caught onto this scheme and called them out. Said culprit would bring up the association, "I was beaten as a child, too" and use that as justification or excusing their actions.
Sometimes the culprit would exaggerate experiences or outright lie all in a way to pretend to be your buddy. When in fact they're secretly trying to destroy you. Why? Some do it for leverage. Some for money. Even for kicks. Others are so damn miserable with their lives they'll refuse to take responsibility for their own faults, and just want other people to suffer, because in their own mind; no one is allowed to be happy.

Thank you Azreal, I do hypnosis for a living and this is really really important stuff. You wouldn't BELIEVE the kinds of things people will beg me to do while completely sober and in front of me, the hypnosis community is very small, and so these people are often already used to abuse or crave it or some other type of unusual thing, or they sexualize the entire experience to the point where it's very difficult to be frank and establish boundaries and get to the root of the issue. And due to the stigma on hypnosis, not many people are willing to even listen about it a whole lot in the first place. Very sad, but I'm incredibly passionate about it.

Or the time I turned my head irl instead of doing that in-game. Or like the time I accidentally peed my pants immediately after a gaming session, because my body just didn't tell me that I had to pee until after I was done. I had a dream that I kept trying to take a shower, but was continuously interrupted. So I would just be like "oh, here's the soap-wait why am I still dressed? OK let's get undressed-oh no my roommate needs to talk to me about something. OK, back to the bathroom-oh no, a knock at the door." I normally shower before bed, but that night I was lazy and decided to do it in the morning so I guess my subconscious was fixated on me still needing to shower. It's funny how the subconscious mind processes things.

Man the last part took me right back to my time as a patient in a psychiatry where we had relaxation therapy. We did something simmilar but i can't remember the exact name of it. But i only once managed to stay awake the whole time. All the following times i fell asleep at roughly the half way point.
Befor that experience i always thought that hypnosis and similar techniques are bullshit but if you just go along with it and let it happen it does work. What i found out tho is that it only works (at least for me) if you don't contiously do what you're instructed to do but instead just turn your head off and let it happen

i could feel my fighting instincts kick in with the hypnosis. my mind has some idea about how to fight going too deep into trances/hypnosis. i really didnt go into too much of one (relaxed a little bit), until i heard the stress melting away part. then i let myself get into it more, but keeping my internal monologue talking. my eyes didnt close until a little bit further on & the elevator i pictured, my subconscious zoomed in horror movie style and put the word dead on it and the inside was a harsh bright light. funnily enough i did go deep enough that "happy" did not sound like a word i knew and i laughed because it sounded funny (it also took me mostly out of it, because i was like wtf is this guy saying lmao)
it did make me more sleepy & relaxed though. im quite obviously not invulnerable, just guarded. cant stop yawning now though. oops. really tried to get into the wide awake bit, i just failed at it
as to what word i thought it was, i thought "happy" was like some roman city named "icathy"/"itchathy" or something. is ichathy a real word somewhere??? (figured out i probably thought of ichthy. why? idk. means to relate to fish. probably read it once and my mind rumaged and found a funny word to break the trance. ichathy also means chat in zulu, maybe, im not sure.)

Okay so before watching this video, I do dabble in some recreational and erotic hypnosis as a hobby and in my experience the best way to protect your brain from bad stuff is to use it. Like don't let people who you don't trust probe around in your mind, that sort of stuff. Obviously it's not that easy as with a loose enough moral codex the victim doesn't even have to be aware they're being hypnotized, but just remaining vigilant and telling people who try anything you don't like to fuck off works wonders. There is also the fact that you will subconsciously reject suggestions you are not comfortable with, but that varies from person to person and with enough time and skill can be bypassed. Then again I am super hard to actually hypnotize even if I am actively trying to be hypnotized, which on one hand sucks, because like I wanna, but on the other hand it means that even if someone puts me under, I have never been so deep that I couldn'd force myself out of the trance at any moment and you bet the second something shady starts happening I will do just that and probably start berating the person

7:55 So I have a long time sub who basically wants to be controlled by someone they trust 24/7 and have no autonomy of their own, and they have asked me for something like that 9 times and 9 times I shot them down. Not because it would be unfeasible, I think it is quite possible, given that they literally stop thinking and fall into a trance if I literally just politely ask them to, but because I simply do not trust myself with that kind of responsibility. Like I know myself and I know I can not be trusted without supervision. Also even if I DID trust myself with this responsibility, there's also the issue of them living very far away from me, so I wouldn't be physically present, which I don't know if it could be harmful to them in that scenario and I would rather not find out the hard way and evenm if that also wasn't an issue, this would in theory allow me to cross boundaries, even just by accident, and I do NOT want that. I don't even want the ability to cross boundaries, because if I do have that I could cross boundaries on accident.
It was quite amusing though to hear them complain about "Why do I always get the oms with a moral compass?!" though. And also a bit concerning, so I then double-checked that they do know not to trust just any person trying/offering to hypnotize them.
But yea wild stuff. Like who tf complains about the person you have entrusted yourself to being responsible and super vigilant and going to great lengths to ensure they do not hurt you?

had to fight it for a min lol. but for anyone who wants to get into this I highly recommend looking into subject agency. think of it as your driving a car but the tist is moving the steering wheel. you have full control of the pedals so you can either hit the gas or hit the breaks. granted i fully let myself fall into trance well watching however I had the power to hit the brakes. you really want a form of trust when it comes to these things as it can be some really amazing things when done correctly. granted I'm more in the what they dub the recreational side of nsfw which does exist and is a different realm in itself. but agency still carriers over, say they want you to crash into a wall, well you may drift towards it your mind will stop you from doing anything you don't wish todo. I also like todo it with stop lights so that way im not comfy or somthing isnt going well I can just say red or red light and its a instant stop or yellow for slow down/ ease back.
