Thousands of miles away from its Chicago home, footwork is inspiring a group of Japanese dancers and DJs to dig deep into the Windy City's highest energy musical export. Check out 'Meet The Era' - A Chicago Footwork Documentary: bit.ly/2lYzObO
Big UP's to everyone on the Documentary on our Chicago culture of dancing and dance music, it is a blessing to know that we've inspired people on the other side of the world... to me it's still hard to believe, til this very day ! RIP DJ RASHAD !!!!
I'm from Chicago the Englewood District and the first time that I had seen someone do some Footwork was in 1986. One of the guys was from around the crib was going at with this cat from out the 220's Building on 63rd. It's amazing that this style of dance still inspires people and now it's Worldwide. What would this World be like without Black People? I'm Proud of Being Black.
I'm a second generation Chicago footworker and CEO of House Of Creation (not Creation), and I thank you all who carry on the Chicago footwork culture around the world.
black should stop giving their identity and intellectual property to other its suicidal. people are making money of your identity and inventions whilst you and your kids starve. stop universalising the particular, stick with your own, own your intellectual property only you black men should perform and profit from it
Just wanted to drop in and say thank you for respect for Chicago House culture. I'm a Chicago native, grew up in the 90's with friends in dance troupes and the whole club scene in the 2000's; it's unexplainable to see people from a different country treat it with the utmost respect and passion. Thank you so, so much.
Being from Chicago(born and bred), this video was incredible!! Those West Side Vs. South Side battles use to be epic at the Route, Rainbow Skating Rink, and 5th City. Shout out to Japan for embracing my city’s culture . 🇯🇵 💯 #ForeverChicago
I am happy to know that Our City Chicago Is Getting Some Recognition From Japan Just To Hear Something Positive For Once Is Heart Felt I Love Our City, Always Praying For Our City 🙏🏾🙌🏾💜
My man summed it up. These guys are good, but they have a ways to go. Reason being is that Chicago footworking is more than just dancing. Chi-town cats have the spirit of struggle, death, and despair in those steps. No matter how much you practice or try to learn the intricacies of it, the fact that you didn't grow up in that situation has a lot to do with it. Props though to those Japanese cats for recognizing the skill and talent that goes into it.
@Straightoutofchiraq yyessir!!! My point exactly! You can copy all you want, that's fine but the soul is what makes it authentic! And I'm not even from the CHI! LMBAO!
This was a great documentary! Even though I don't do this type of footwork, it was inspiring to watch and listen to the dancers. Thank you for making this!
The 'tracklist' in the end doesn't help at all. It seems to be out of order and some titles are either wrong, or the songs are just untraceable. I need the one from 07:42 but it's an impossible task to do..
Wowwww this is incredible man footwork scene has definitely died down here in the city but they do have battlegrounds still but much love to japan 773 312baby!!
Yall should look into the Detroit jit but this some nice foot work i know Detroit and Chicago have battles all the time .. i like the juke when done smooth
If japan Can master housedance and locking imagine what they will do with chicago footwork ;) also keep in mind that chicago footwork, is the manifestation of the pain of the people in CHI! who have really rough times! This is their emotions, their creativity to escape any kind of supression! Chiraq is a rough place to live in!
See yall smart so yall know this import export breath n out yall gave us marital arts flicks contemporary art we give yall footworkin we dont share are secrets with those who cap shine or talent so shine on
Rydar i think if you turn this down abit..add orange chucks and floppies and then it would make it pantsula..I actually found a video called "japan meets south africas pantsula"..I think they relate the 2..
I want to give a special shout out to all the bastards behind scenes that are deliberately orchestrating the death of our sons in Chicago under the phoney guise of "gang violence culture". Now you filthy bastards are stealing their organs, organs from a gifted group of people you trash chaos organizers could never be.

You guys should come to Chicago and we would have a battle. It would be a fun experience for all of us.

And to be truthfully honest you can actually see the difference in when black folks do and when everyone else does it. It's majorly Obvious lol.
They don't have our soul
@Straightoutofchiraq yyessir!!! My point exactly! You can copy all you want, that's fine but the soul is what makes it authentic! And I'm not even from the CHI! LMBAO!
