I might be in the minority but I enjoy when rods have suggested lures . I’m mainly a kayak angler and plan my trips out ahead of time so I usually grab the rods and baits accordingly
I've gotta say, the first time I used that reel seat was on the Tatula bass rods and I can't stand it lol. The trigger being so short with the underside of the seat wider, it's quite weird. Particularly with the Tatula since they put a glossy one on there. My top 2 reel seats have to be Shimano's CI4+ reel seat and the Fuji ones used by all Dobyns rods(forget the name).
More bend tests Debo. It's the most valuable thing to know about a rod. Especially because a lot of us can't hold the rod when ordering online. Thank you!
I ordered this exact rod on black Friday sale and planned on putting that same lews reel on it for chatterbait/swimjig/spinnerbait. Thanks for making the video and confirming for me I made a solid purchase.
That rod has a lot of features that I really like. The nut looks just like a Dobyns Champion Extreme. It has a lot of plusses at a reasonable price. If I could change anything- I'd rather have standard guides to micro guides. It was nice of them to offer a Debo discount code.
Gotta say the editing skills are on point. Really appreciated the overlay of the rods to show the bending points.. Maybe we could get a rod comparison review video of all the different price points. Budget 1 vid ect ect.. I still get confused on the action of a rod. I've been mia with feeshing but watching the videos is bringing the love back to me. I've been obsessed with the aquarium hobby this past yr and now I'm totally out of room for tanks(I have 6) it's time to start fishing again. Anyways thanks Debo n can't wait for the next video.
Brother- you are en feugo!🔥 I really liked your ladder set up showing the differences between rod power and action. Have to keep this one in mind when looking for a new stick
I 100% need to try one of these rods out. Side note, still fishing every chance i get hoping to nail my first fish. About a month and a half in and still trying. Will not give up until I get a dink.
That's a rod I could be happy with, and that lure weight range is the range of the heavier lures I would throw. I don't have a problem with the micro guides, because on my casting rods I go straight with the class of line I'll be throwing. I really like that hook keeper, and it's a beautiful rod to boot.
Great analysis and explanations. I really liked the ladder test bc it showed exactly what the meaning of the manufacturers ratings are. I really learned some new things regarding the rod ratings. NICE JOB 👍🎣
Great rod review, love that you're showing everything a beginner to advance angler needs to know about the rod! Obviously, tackle choice is subjective, but providing the bend, the weight and balance points helps in our decisions.
Looks like a solid option. Definitely spiked my curiosity. Loved the comparison set up you used. That really helps show how each load up. Great video!!
Love the bend test. I think it would be great to have a big comparison between your stable of rods. I am waiting on mine from them and agree that the micro guides are a bit of trouble when fishing braid to leader as I do 90% of the time.
seems decent at that price. but the micro guides are a deal breaker for me. i know, it's supposed to increase the sensitivity of a rod, to pick up on vibrations. but junk gets caught in them. 40 ton , and a bit larger guides, i would try it. just an opinion. great vid as always.
Love the ladder demo Just have a color coded and name on the end rod area , not numbers .. that’s too much to think about when the bite is hot . I prefer the hook keeper behind the reel , just because I’ve run into many time during a cast that the line get caught in that hook keeper and zing there goes my lure .
I pre-ordered the 7'8" MH MF a while back, looking forward to getting it on the water next year. Thanks for reviewing the rod, actually makes me feel even better about picking it up!
Personally I'd want the hook keeper either underneath or better yet in the back of the handle. I've had that style catch the line missing up your cast or retrieve. The worse is when it catches the line on a cast and breaks your lure off and/or leaves you with a giant birds nest. Other than that looks like a great rod. I also have to agree that the black EVA foam looks better than the cork given the color scheme.
These new MB rods look awesome! I also like for the rods to designate lures and techniques, being a newer angler. The cork grips will be great. Thanks for the breakdown Debo!
The rod looks nice. My feedback with the rod is the micro guides. I fish braid to fluoro, so I don't like micro guides. Take off micro guides and you have a winner. Also the number system is ok as long as the other labeling such Medium Heavy-Moderate Action is on the rod. I don't want to have to remember what M4 means. I went out to Monster Bass website, each fishing rod is $139 plus S&H unless you use the discount code provided in the video. Also there is $50 + S&H replacement program if you break the rod. I thought your subscribers might want to know. I would like to see a follow-up video see how the rod performs. $139 for the fishing rod is not too bad, but at same time you want to know what you are getting especially for those of us on a budget.
I've been lookin for my first heavy rod so I might have ta check that out I've been goin through monsterbass for my baits for a few years now so I'm excited bout pickin up a good workin rod from them and ur videos really help keep up the good work bud
Great job as usual Debo. Always enjoy your videos. Thank you for all your hard work! Bought two lunkersticks and can't wait to try them out. Love the look of these rods! Hope they perform as well as they look.
Love the video and the rod looks sick! Wish it had a little bigger guides but otherwise looks great. Really liked the great visual of the different actions using the ladder. However, I think in this instance it would have been better suited to compare the action of this rod to other moderate fast action rods. Overall love the vids and appreciate all that you do. Keep up the great work.
$139, I don’t know. I think that’s a tough price point to start when bringing out a new rod that looks like a piscifun, kastking, or shimano slx rod. This year the most expensive rod I bought was $89. Next year I’m looking at buying 1 or 2 higher price point rods $125-150. I’m more apt to look at TFO or St Croix .... the guides, hook keeper, and having the #M rating on the rod are nice touches.
Iin the 110 dollar range the major craft basspra rods are hard to beat in mho they are better then the bass x rods the dobins furry rods best bang for the buck
Looks great, reminds me of the original 6th sense MFer rod. Different colors, but I bet same blank! I still to this day use it for jigs.. Little story, I wash fishing a tournament 5pm-10pm, wendsday night. Anyways it rained it was 920pm, I got snagged went to yank my rod, it goes flying outta my hand into the lake. Pitch black, my old partner threw a dt20 ended up snagging it!! But we had 14lbs, a had a 5'5 smallie. We were 9 minutes late n got DQ'd..... 1st place was 8lbs, we had 14 😏 lesson learned....
Can’t wait to get one and support a great company. No exposed threads is a must for me as is cork. Love the way they look and that’s easily the best keeper. Just need to see the final product.
I wonder if people are going to say they are copying the Googan rods with the quick indicators for what it's for? WHO CARES JUST FEESH. Everything as been or will be done once and guess what twice three times ect ect. It is a very slick looking rod. Good job monsterbass.
Thanks for the video. I know I can trust what you have to say. You mentioned reel size. How is this measured? Is there a standard? I know some reels are marked, but I think most are not.
I almost always use braid to a leader, so I'm not a fan of the micro guides. Is there supposed to be some kind of advantage to them if you aren't using a guide?
After watching you for the last yr and a half I've become a super genius 🧑🎓 🤣but it sure would've been easier with a label saying what it would be best for, plus I'd have a couple more MH fast and less chatterbait rods 🤣🤣🤣👌 Thanks Debo 👍👋🎣
New to your channel ,Its great. I'm sure the rods will be a good product if not I Know MB will make it right. My problem is not knowing when buyers will receive their rods. Rick makes a vid saying they're here so I order the two for one deal then I'm told rick will let you know when they will be ready. Now I here you say they're still making changes to them. Do you have any idea when they will start shipping?
Another great video!! Really been enjoying the content lately especially the product reviews, but when are we gonna see the Monsterbass DEBO signature series rod?? Might be kinda cool
I see yours is a prototype. I ordered mine more than a month ago and it still hasn’t shipped. Their customer service folks are very responsive and have been telling me there’s been delays in getting these rods to market. So buyer beware-you may have to wait a bit to get your hands on em. And I did NOT know this rod had microguides when I ordered it, which is a bummer. I hate em. This was actually a promotion deal where I got the rod for shipping cost only for renewing monthly subscription so I don’t feel so bad. But a LOT of rod descriptions don’t mention size of guides which is a big pet peeve of mine when shopping online. I just rechecked the description of the rods on the MB site and yup, no mention that they are microguides. If I had Rick’s ear I’d definitely tell him to add that to the description (or better yet change guides to mid-micro so braid-to- leader guys can use em)
Rod looked good until the guides. Not a fan of micro guides- that's because I am pretty much braid to leader. Great video touched on all the important. Good visual on showing action of rods.
Tell the fellow from Monster Bass that those micro guides put me off a rod immediately. I go Braid to Leader. Why don't people understand this basic concept I don't care how proficient a iknot tier you are they all get hit and reduce distance on EVERY cast. St. Croix Premier their entry level american made rods has the absolute best line guides there are period.
@brianhershberger4429 I am with you brother. It boggles the mind how a company doesn’t get how polarizing microguides are. Why even go there if so many folks who use braid-to-leader hate them?! All they needed to do is bump up the size of the guides one or two notches and they’d make everyone happy.
@@DavidBronstein1961 true that my friend. It just seems like you should be able to choose. I mean why not make both, that way you’d have a choice and it opens up the field of rods we might buy.
All lure keepers should be epoxied down on both ends . Trust me eventually on a windy day the line will catch on that style keeper on a hook sett or casting.
Looks better than I expected. I’m not sure the name is a good idea. I thought they were rods from Lunkerhunt. Based off the name alone, I wouldn’t have even looked at them had you not made the video.
Meant to stay as well this is about as bad as favorite rods and googan pricing. I will be switching to ARK rods after checking them out from an earlier debo video
Beautiful rod except I absolutely do not like the look of the cork in the profile picture on their website. The black Eva is way better on feel and looks way better so I will not be buying one
OMG, call out on Debo Fishing, never thought it'd happen. Next thing we know @dizzlesfeeshin8966 will have posted a video. Keep doing what you doing Debo, love the channel.

I agree, I like the suggestions as an ignorant beginner. Helps make my limited fishing trips as productive as possible

I like the black EVA Grips. I also like the medium eyes for braid with flourocarbon leader goes through guides better
Getting really advanced showing the power and action of the rods using the ladder. Hope to see more of it in future reviews.
Really enjoyed the vice grip test with the rods! This is what people need to see to really understand the different actions.
Is it Christmas? A new video 3 days in a row - LOVE IT. Thanks for another fantastic review Debo.

Rod looks nice love cork over eva foam tbh and glad they went that way I think it also looks better and more high end. Wouldn’t mind trying one out.
Pretty cool they have their own rods now. Not that I’m jumping ship from my favorite brands but good for Rick and all them guys over at monster bass
Like the reel nut, smooth is better.

Curious Debo, did MB say that their rods will be generally softer than typical in class action? Extra fast vs mod fast seems like a good difference.
Nice Rod !! I'm def going to hold.. I don't want to pay $25 for shipping.. It's a good percentage off but it still doesn't change the shipping price.

Would love to see these on the water.
Didn’t Fenwick have a rod named that years ago
Don't seem to bad at first look I'll be waiting to see the final and the price they will be going for
defiantly looks like a good rod!
How do you feel about the Curado dc? I just purchased the Scorpion dc and haven’t tested it yet.
I was going to get 1, but I do hate the mico Guides
The cork handles are nice but don’t like how they look with rod. Are these rods for sale yet and have they been upgraded with new changes.
Thanks for sharing..
Looks awesome, I'll buy some
Good looking rod!
They look sweet and i think i like EVA better too 🤷🏾♂️
Good one
They need to label the rod chatterbait type thing lol I’d buy one
I'm a little late to the party. Getting my first lunkerstick tomorrow. My question to you is what was that trailer and jig setup? Looked nasty.
With all do respect to Rick, I’m gonna stick with mainstream rod companies.
I don’t get to hung up on handle material as long as it’s not uncomfortable 🤷♂️
I really don't understand why any manufacturers use any other style hook keeper than that! It drives me nuts. Thanks for the content DEBO!
Even worse are spinning rods that don't have one at all.
