Billy from Liverpool, was stricken by rheumatic fever as a child which left him with a damaged heart muscle. As a result he did not enjoy particularly robust health throughout his life and sadly died at 42 from a heart attack, directly related to his childhood illness.
by far the best of the british rock and rollers of the 50s. did a great cover of twitty's 'it's only make believe'. sadly, he died at only 42 after being left with a weak heart following rheumatic fever he had as a child.
Extremely talented and wonderful human being. The first track you played laid hundreds of thousands of women in extasy at his live stage act which was dramatic and very sexy. he was the UK's highest paid entertainer for over a year.
it is so nice to see you reacting that way to billy , he was one of the big influences on the British rockers who took america , he wrote his own stuff mostly and had the legendary guitarist joe brown work with him ..the beatles auditioned to be his touring band ..but his manager didnt think they were good enough !!! john had his autograph until he was shot and a cherished photo of the two of them taken (i believe ) by Paul ..billy showed you could be authentic rock and roll with his album the sound of fury
Once upon a dream is my absolute favourite, and on UA-cam there’s a film excerpt where you can actually get to see him sing the song,is the icing on top of the cake. Gorgeous man with a heavenly voice!
Before the Beatles were known, they were asked if they would be his backing band for an upcoming tour. As far as remember, they didn't. Fury also came from Liverpool.
His name is pronounced Phew-ry as though you were in a rage (in a fury). He tended to be regarded as the British Elvis Presley and like Elvis died at 42 years of age.
Ok.,so I followed him around, met him etc..he had an album which he wrote all the songs.rare in those days..The sound of Fury..uk version of a rockabilly..excellent
Second only to the Beatles with chart hits and records sold in the UK in the 60's. He went to school with one Richard Starkey (both were very sick children) and RS ended up the year below him though they remained friends and acted together in the film "That'll be the day". Oh and the Beatles did apply to be his backing band but his manager didn't like them so they didn't get the job.
One of the best of the early sixties singers wrote most of his song. And the best 10” record ever came out. And wrote all the song on the record. The sound of fury.
I adore Billy Fury. He'd have been a bigger star if he hadnt been plagued by ill health. Halfway To Paradise is a Carole King song by the way. Check out her portfolio. You'll be surprised. 👍
It’s Billy fury as in angry not furry as in cat ! Billys version of halfway to Paradise released a few days after Tony Orlando’s got to number three in UK and stayed for many weeks on the charts. One of the top songs of 1961 Orlando’s version was not so good IMO and in the states only made 39 on the Billboard fury furry cat. Glad you appreciate both those great songs and of course Billys wonderful singing. He was one of several British tributes to Elvis
@India Reacts Just to let you know, his name was Billy FURY, not "furry." An absolutely legendary British singer who hailed from the Beatles' hometown of Liverpool.
I enjoy your reactions, as you appear to enjoy music, as I do. It's a great thing to open yourself up to difference types and here's. I truly believe you would enjoy Amos Lee "Windows Rolled Down" with the Colorado Symphony at Red Rock Amphitheater. Please consider this video. : )
Glad you enjoyed, a Yank with taste. Not putting you down as you seem a very nice young lady but his name is Fury as in anger, not Furry as a Pussy Cat lol. Will check out your orher videos to see what else you promote. Keep it up and check out Marty Wilde and Dickie Pride.
I was wondering if you could please react to Loretta Lynn. She is a country music legend, who spoke her mind in her songs and empowered women to be independent. Some of her best songs are " you ain't woman enough to take my man" and "Fist City". Her most famous song is 1971's "Coal Miner's Daughter". I recommend reacting to all of these. If you do one, react to Coal Monet's Daughter. Please react to the music of this amazing woman.
Donna Summer far and away the best of the 70s dance music. Last Dance. Love to Love You. I Feel Love. She introduced what they call club music today years before Madonna
You should react to some Tommy Rowe India, specifically "dizzy" and "sweet little Sheila" I've never actually heard of this guy but,I thought he was really good..
Could you please react to Alan Jackson's "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning" and to Brad Paisley's "He Didn't Have To Be"? Both are great songs!
Don't ever get in the friend zone with an attractive Woman. It's too frustrating and most Men will always ,eventually, want to take it further. When she says you are "sweet" and "cute" you are DEAD in the Water...lol
Thank you India I'm so glad you liked him, he was such a gentle soul with a beautiful voice.

Very sad
The early Beatles(Silver Beetles) were considered as a back-up band for Billy Fury. John Lennon liked him. He even got an autograph from Billy.
Billy⚘ Fury was a real Superstar ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Half Way To Paradise was played at the end of my mothers funeral such a beautiful song.
Wondrous place is in my top three records of all time.
The greatest rock 'n' roll singer and a brilliant balladeer England ever produced.
EXCELLENT FABOULOUS AWESOME 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I Like Billy Fury My Mum From Liverpool👨🏼🎵🎶💙💜
Statue of this guy in Liverpool were he was born (good Scouser)
The money for the Statue was raised by The Sound of Fury Fan Club, along with many other fans around the world. The Statue was made by Tom Murphy.
That last shot of the Halfway to Paradise video is that very statue.
My favourite statue in the city!

@@bazcrowther8205. Definitely written by her and her then husband Gerry Goffin.
@@Dyynamo she probably did mate I'm not disputing that I'm saying Tony Orlando was the original to sing it but Tony did prefer Billy's version

My talk to type made a mistake. it should read. Only made number 39 on the Billboard charts
You should react to some Tommy Rowe India, specifically "dizzy" and "sweet little Sheila"
I've never actually heard of this guy but,I thought he was really good..
Two wildly different suggestions:
"One night in heaven" by M-People
"My Prayer" by The Platters
Please do cheap trick the flame. By the way you are absolutely beautiful thanks for the videos.
Might I suggest "At Seventeen" by Janis Ian.
Could you please react to Alan Jackson's "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning" and to Brad Paisley's "He Didn't Have To Be"? Both are great songs!

Opinions based without knowledge of faces simply for ego and money. And the names and titles pronounced very badly.
