    Me being raised in a ford only family had me hooked on anything ford from the start. I like all brands now, but this Ford had to be mine, same one I seen as a child growing up, and the fact is, I like to collect lawn tractors it was meant to be mine, I just got really lucky when it came up for sale on craigslist. Truth is, the motor could have been blown up and it had no mowing deck and I still would have bought this little LT11.

    I'm considering it on my 4x2 as well, I'm already going to be running dual batteries so it might be good idea to have a car alternator just keep everything charged, I'm also going to have onboard air and a power inverter, and maybe if I can find one a small air tank.

    Well thanks and your welcome for the video. I do tinker a lot yes, and I have been working on engines big and small for 15 years, however I do not even pretend to know everything. I usually stay away from internals, and most of my engines run fine. I can rebuild them, yes, and I have a few times. I don't mod small engines mainly because there are too many variables. I used to scrap small engines when they leaked oil and ran smokey because it was easier to just swap engine blocks.

    Those Briggs engines are notorious for that idle problem sometimes never can fix the issue.

    Idea for your tow truck tractor install a truck alternator just for the point of when you need to boost tractors.

    Technically I already have. Only the Ford(barely), little red, and the Dayton curently run. I did have one of my orange Montgomery Wards running a year or so ago and the 1990 Craftsman will run if I had a battery and better gas. There is a video of each tractor that can run, but not all on same video, I guess that is what you would like to see? Some of my tractors have sat a VERY long time, and its a pain to get them to start.

    Cool video, those old ford mowers seem to be a rarity and yours is in great shape. I grew up around jd mowers and would prob never own anything else, but those fords are awesome too! I know youve rebuilt small motors, and tinker alot, but you ever change internals in a briggs to aftermarket? Like dome top pistons, stroker crank, or reground cam? Just curious, seems like cool stuff! Thanks for the vids!

    I love the old fords, my fav is the 60's 100's I nearly bought one but it leaked ALOT and the owner couldn't even keep it going, it wasn't the best of shape but if it ran right I wouldhave bought it

    Have you reset the governor? it's super simple to reset.

    Yeah, thats good ideas. I already know I am going to have 2 50 cal ammo cans mounted on top of the fenders, one on each side. One for the small air compressor and the other one for tools. I only need air to inflate tires, and there won't be much room for an air tank anyways. If you are concerned about keeping the battery charged, just get what I have on the Dayton, a plug in hard mounted battery maintainer, keeps the battery fully charged during periods of inactivity.

    Yeah, I actually had thought of that years ago and people have suggested it before too. I am going to have all kinds of lights, sirens, a winch, air compressor and possibly a power inverter for running tools.

    makes the yt16 look big lol nice tractor

  • @76hotrodF250
    @76hotrodF250  11 років тому

    Yeah, its quite fast for a stock rider mower, I only had it at half throttle due to the governor wanting to "over speed" the engine in high throttle. I have to reset the governor and install a better carburetor, then it should be just fine.

    My mint 86 YT16H with welded spyder/spline now has a weak Eaton 7 hydro pump. Bummer to find replacement transaxles.

    I love this Ford lawn tractor I wish I owned it

    So I hear. I really think the problem lies in the governor linkage and spring. Also the carb butterfly rod bushings are worn pretty badly. The engine itself needs to be rebuilt anyways.

    I have a ford LT 75 garden tractor and am trying to change the P.T.O. Belt and I have no clue do you happen to have a diagram for the belt?

    Thanks for subscribing. However Evan, you are pretty much out of luck for parts. The ford mowers are extremely rare and not many owners are willing to let them go. They were built by Gilson/Jacobson. The Jacobson tractors use the same mowing deck, frame, fenders and dash as the ford, but are also very rare. Do a google search and try "pig iron parts" they might have some parts. Sometimes a few parts show up on ebay, but not often. Lesson learned I hope, don't mod collectible tractors!!
