    Tools used in the video are not easily purchased online, here are some much less expensive alternatives. I have not tried these, but ran the searches through amazon. For power tools, I recommend Milwaukee or Makita. For hand tools, Gearwrench and Craftsman are good garage level tools. Many times the China knockoffs can be decent quality for the at home repair.

    Great install video! I used your previous install video to do this on my new AT4 with only about 500 miles on it. I’m at ~1800 miles now and I love it. Your videos have been a great help with all the mods I’ve done, really appreciate the time you take putting these together!

    That random extra nut would drive me crazy. Where did the factory fail to install it?? Great video! In your opinion, what's the risk of voiding the warranty with this part?

    • @StephenPaul1160
      @StephenPaul1160 10 місяців тому +2

      Every brand new car I've ever bought has had at least one extra fastener left laying around. Sometimes in the engine compartment and other times in the interior. If you dig around enough you'll find them. The reality is the people at the plant work so fast that if they drop a fastener they don't bother to pick it up. Doesn't mean that it didn't get installed, just an extra one was grabbed when that one slipped out of their hand during the build process.

    • @truraza
      @truraza 10 місяців тому +1

      @@StephenPaul1160Fair enough. The same inattention to pick up a stray fastener is the same inattention that could lead to one not being installed. But yeah, stuff happens.

    Very informational video. I don’t have a 3.0 yet, I am still trying to decide if I’m going to buy one or not. The oil burning factor has me a bit concerned. Love watching your videos you know a lot about these motors!

      I'm at 14000 miles (23 LZ0) and 4000 miles since last oil change, I did add half a quart somewhere around 6000 miles, but I have not lost any oil since 4000 miles ago. I think a lot of oil usage may occur when under heavy load and at this time I have not towed anything.

      For what it’s worth, I have a 2023 Silverado, just over a year old with the LZ0 and no issues. Does not burn any oil during normal driving and 5000 mile oil change intervals. But when I tow a heavy 30 foot brick of a wall RV, I do burn some, which is normal. But after I unhitch it, no issues again. Love mine. I’ve got 16,000 miles and no issues and up to 40mpg at 60 mph on a flat highway. The only thing you need to worry about happened to me today. Went for an oil change at the Chevy dealer and they put in the wrong oil. It was 0-20 but not Dexos D. I caught it, challenged them and they admitted to the screw up and redid the oil change. The D costs more, that was my clue and when the parts manager ran the vin for parts needed, he confirmed it was the wrong oil. I guess D is not that common, at least at this dealer.

    Is that a foam cover under that mounting bracket? If so, do you reckon its there more for noise than heat insulation?

    I’m at 110 000 km on mine and had the charge air cooler replaced twice under warranty. First time at 40 k and then just after we rolled over 100 k. Both times both my coolant reservoirs were almost empty. Both times the dealer filled them after the work was done. I suggested to them maybe there is another issue …. Nothing to see here. I had the hood up the other day and noticed the coolant low in the reservoir again …. Sigh …. Just waiting for an engine light ….

    I know this question doesn't pertain to this video but would replacing the intake tube and deleting the turbo resonator help increase my fuel economy? I noticed on warmer days 40 and above my economy is great (29mpg combined numbers up and back) and whenever the ambient air temp is below 25 it drinks the fuel (24 mpg combined). I do 100 miles a day for work and any advice to get an edge would be greatly appreciated.

      More consistent air intake temps. Meaning you won't get as bad heat soak to the intake charge air. Probably worth it if you live in a hotter climate or do a lot of towing/heavy load driving. Also it looks awesome in that wrinkle red!

      Oh, forgot to add, one of the tuners (dont remember who) said that as intake charge temps go up, the stock ECU will pull power to compensate. A better intercooler will help prevent this hopefully.
