As a non Johorean living and working in JB city center, i personally think this city doesn't really need too much skyscrapers in order to beat KL nor SG. It needs world class public transport, at least at par with KL, and it needs to be a walkable city.

I'm slowly converting myself from car user to public transportation in JB although the bus is the worst. JB really 1000x needs a 360° transformation in public transportation and pedestrians.

@mister To achieve SG's world class transport system of MRTs and buses, Johore will need another 10 years of construction and plannng. As for a walkable city, you need to get the thieves and robbers off the streets.

@@jer2911.L Most of the robbers were foreigner or refugee. The Johor government needs to tackle the immigrant issue first.

I think JB need both skyscrapers and Transportation System because the population in JB are increasing and JB also needs more skyscrapers (especially for more condominiums) because JB has almost the same population as KL . Even in KL they have a lot of skyscrapers based on Condominiums.

to the administrator, maybe after this you need to include the sub-urban areas of Johor Bahru (such as Pasir Gudang, Skudai, Ulu Tiram, Gelang Patah, Senai, Johor Jaya and others or the entire Johor Bahru District itself. Only then will you see how big this Johor Bahru area is .

As Johorean, 3 perkara penting yang perlu diutamakan.. Public Transport, Kualiti jalanraya, Landskap bandar. 3 ni paling teruk. MBJB tolonglah buat keje betul2…Pandai buat landskap, pandailah maintain.. Lagi satu tolonglah hapuskan kedai2 warga asing depan city square tu..dah mcm Bangladesh aku tengok kalau time2 cuti…Rimas

Aku harap sangat tambak Johor tu digantikan dengan struktur yg lebih ramah alam sekitar (gantikan dengan jambatan atau terowong bawah laut) supaya arus air laut dpt bergerak dr timur ke barat dan sebaliknya begitu juga dengan kapal2 dan hidupan laut yg lain

baik buat LRT untuk Johor Bharu.
Supaya JB Boleh Jadi Bandar Yang Tidak memerlukan kereta Di Masa Hadapan.
KL dan Selangor terlampau banyak sangat Flyover dan Jalan Tol .
Harap JB Tidak Jadi seperti KL di Masa Hadapan

We must admit that Europe area not so much skyscrapers and they all still keep the old architecture (building).

It’s nice to maintain the old architecture rather than just demolish and rebuild with skyscrapers, but there must be proper adherence to the original/historical styling or it will defeat its real purpose. Modern structures are more energy efficient with amenities that are difficult and expensive to integrate into vintage style buildings. The government should have a dedicated branch to study and identify the sections of the town that need to be protected from demolition and be preserved.
