Juancho, Anthony Edwards, and Kenny Smith all did a great job acting. This movie was proof you can have basketball players in a movie, and not feel like a high school production.
Agreed, those were the only good ones though. Well, Khris Middleton did a good job with his one line lol
Issa fact especially with Ant as the rival
Na Kenny was garbage lol. Juan was a fucking monster. If I didn't know who he was I'd have thought he was an actor. Edward's was ok too.
Such a great film full stop!
Agreed... agreed... agreed..
he's a natural actor they did a great casting choice
Yes I don’t think it’s his acting I think it’s really just he fits the role they where looking for
I just watched Hustle last night and was FLOORED at how good he was.
@@Mygoalisfitness His acting was good as well. He showed emotion through the film and even shed a tear. I’ve watched movies with “credible” actors who could barely get their eyes wet and this man cried in a scene. Not saying that it’s the sole reason why I consider him a good actor but just saying that it wasn’t only the casting as you mentioned.
his acting wasn't great, but because of his thick accent and his English (which is good but not great), it seems believable. he can't speak English naturally enough to possibly act badly if that makes sense.
@@christianolson8543 and you are?
Anthony Edwards actually also pulled it off as a bad guy in the movie.. He sure has acting skills as well. 😉
I can't believe that these were real basketball players. Anthony Edwards played his part well.
Edwards was himself lol minus the dark trash talking
Excuse you, it’s kermit now not anthony anymore
Edward's is a natural. One of the future faces of the nba.
I was impressed with their performances. Anthony Edwards definitely shined in his moments. Very good movie
Awesome movie imo. Juancho seems like a humble dude and he and Adam Sandler seemed to just click. Its an 8/10 from me.
Imagine of bo cruz actually was really OMG
Agree
what is a 10/10 for you? :)
You’re a hater, this is a 10/19
8/10 is about right. IMDb has it 7.4/10 and rotten tomatoes has it 92%. I enjoyed the movie.
I thought he is an actor, because his acting in this movie too good! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Omg that moment where he connects with his mother….omg never thought he was NOT an actor. So much natural talent!
My fav scene is when he happily went into the pool after knowing his daughter came to US to see him!
I really, really enjoyed this movie. It's a par-for-the-course sports movie, a bit generic - but it takes from some great movies and was really well made. The acting was really, really good too.
Not an excellent movie BUT well done *not just as a sports film BUT as a movie, in general.* Very entertaining. Also imparts some good values and positive reinforcement specially to struggling aspiring young athletes, and even to middle-aged men who might be at the crossroads of their careers or are still chasing that elusive dream job or dream business. I'd rate this a solid 6.5 out of 10.
Very true.
Its a nice little movie to watch one time
Par!! It was awesome!!
Yeah like its not some marvel of film making, but it's not meant to be. Very enjoyable two hours and a treat for hoop fans and non-hoop fans alike
That close up shot of Juancho crying is what sold me! Not easy to pull off, great work!
That was the moment when we all knew he was a natural actor.
@@Jbro2607 facts
The mother part when she said he will call in sick is underrated bruh 😂😂😂
Yes!!!!
Felt like a CLASSIC late 90s-early 2000s era basketball film.
I'd be more critical if we weren't in an era of minimal original blockbuster films in favor of remakes, sequels, and reboots of classics.
Give this guy a ring when the Celtics win it lol.
Yesss his, the script and movie felt like in the 2000s and this is why it was good. Nowadays, movies don't feel the same!!
The Air up There
🎯
He was so good! I had no idea he was an actual player. Looking forward to seeing him in more stuff
The kind of movie you will show your son and daughter 10 years from now and it still deliver the same message.
He is a natural fit in his role.. Also Anthony Edwards
The fact he said Waterboy first just makes me like him that much more
I've been a basketball fan since the 90's. I'm also an ex collegiate player who's career ended due to many injuries.... I've seen EVERY basketball movie and can confidently say this one is the one. It's an instant classic and in my eyes the best basketball movie ive ever seen! I'm extremely excited now for the giannis movie coming out in a week or so!
It is 👍👍👍👍 but if you really saw every basket movie you know that coach Carter is the best basketball movie.... I put this one in my top 3 , 3rd place after white men can't jump
@@prokopiszarkadas9964 what about Sidney Dean and Billy Hoyle? Hmm
What’s the Giannis movie called?
Juancho Hernángomez is a naturally talented actor, it has more talent that many actors that have been acting all their lives.
My mentor told me that we have five or six talents that we don’t even know we have! So anyone reading this, go out and try new things. You never know what you are capable of until you put yourself out there and try! I loved this movie. It was funny and it touched my heart! Awesome jobs guys! I also love it because I’m from Philly! It was cool to see my hometown!
Had no idea he was an actual Pro Basketball Player I thought he was an actor bc he was so good in the movie! Great movie. Love Adam Sandler expanding how he acts and the genre.
I think Juancho is so humble and very nice too
Loved this movie. Juancho did an amazing job. Not a comedy but some classic Sandler bits in it. Especially the bus scene. Hysterical! And Queen Latifah.... Love her! I wish she had more scenes. Didn't realize this movie was made during the height of Covid.
He is so humble despite his phenomenal talent, mark of true greatness...
he can definitely find more acting roles in the future after this performance, hats off to juancho
He is so humble. Wish him nothing but the best wow🔥🔥🔥🤟🏻
No hate to Juancho, but he was one of them random NBA players me and my boys would kid about. The fact he stars in a movie now and it was filmed at my high school is crazy
What High School? Just watched the movie yesterday, was pretty good, its no Peaky Blinders. It was worth the 2 hours and I love basketball and it was cool seeing the 76ers being from Philadelphia and all...
What high school?
@@jadenphillips6758 Cardinal Hayes HS... It's in the Bronx. I thought I remembered Kenny Smith saying it in the movie so I fast forwarded it & found it! Season 6 of Peaky Blinders was amazing too
@@markprice2225 why would you compare this to peaky blinders lmfaoooo
Do you want to spend your time watching something amazing or something just OK! It was a comparative comment I sent earlier! And a Netflix joke too
I love the movie !! 😍
I watched this movie 3 times already:
1. By myself and I was hyped af… gives you a mixed feeling of “White men can’t jump” and “Coach Carter” with modern NBA vibes🏀🏀🏀
2. With my lil cousin who’s never played basketball in his life - but he was excited to try after watching it🥹🏀
3. With my girlfriend who got emotional and cried a few times
This movie is an absolute classic, thank you Adam, Huancho, Bron🙏
Well said 💯💯💯💯💯💯
@@mariahlittle16 thanks🙏
I wasn't sure if he was a real player the entire movie amazing acting
Ahhahaha us nba nerds know him he’s actually a decent nba player with a nice skill set
Juancho was really great in the movie! So likeable.
I don’t know anything about basketball so I was surprised when the actors were actually basketball players they did an amazing job
Anthony Edwards is definitely an amazing actor in this movie 🙌 Go Wolves
Agree.
Jauncho killed this acting and seemed like he was never a basketball player but a natural actor props
He has a charming personality and seems like a pleasant enthusiastic person now he get to show his creativity to the world
I enjoy all Adam Sandler and Queen Lateefah movies and this was no disappointment!
This gentleman’s humbleness was definitely illuminated in this movie and Anthony Edward’s played his mean boy character well. Congratulations to both. N BTW I don’t know sports LOL. I enjoyed this movie very much!
Love Juancho from his time in Denver. Glad to see he is having success, he deserves it
Juancho is an impressive actor, phenomenal performance in a fun film! I hope you check it out! Thank You!
Put this guy in more movies
He is eurocup finals MVP now.
Hustle was such a great movie. The cast was amazing. Adam Sandler did it again.
Love this guy! Huge fan after this movie!! Getting his jersey!
Great movie......Juancho and Anthony Edward's did great!!
This movie was gold, inspirational and believable… I enjoyed every moment…
Eh
Eh #2... it was a fun, one time watch, but God no where near gold... nor very believable... especially with regard to all great basketball movies (He Got Game, Hoosiers, Blue Chips, Coach Carter etc.)
@@zacadams8263 You know
As a sports movie, this is up there as one of the bests. As a Basketball movie, this is hands down No.1 and will probably stay up there for a long long time.
He did a great job! That movie took me by surprise and I loved every minute of it
Love his Spanish accent.
He's a good actor, beautiful movie and story line.
The movie was amazing, thanks Adam, I catch hell all the time from my work buddies cause I'm an NBA guy and not an NFL guy!! Juancho, Adam, great movie!!!!!!!!!
He is very charming. And gave a great debut performance.
I saw the film last night at a guild showing. I had NO idea these guys were real basketball players (I’m not into sports) it was incredible.
I'm super surprised how much I enjoyed the movie, he was great and all the other players as well. Great montages as well.
I fell in love with this move it was the sickest case of nostalgia I felt I haven't watched a basketball movie since watching He Got Game that made me cry I was happy at the very end cause it was damn near real so many different emotions great movie instant classic
By giving us the impression that he is some new actor in full NBA shape, which mean he succeeded characterization already. He doesn't talk too much in the film, I guess it's all part of the script but for someone like me who is taking-up Theatre and Playwright in Drama School, silent dialogues and relaxed acting method are one of the hardest part to achieve. But Juancho nailed it.
This guy Juancho kills it in the movie. And Sandler in a serious role?... forget about it. He's gold. If you doubt that, watch him in "Punch Drunk Love." Really enjoyed Kenny Smith's performance: **** four stars. Queen Latifah = Always top shelf.
i got a 90s basketball movie kind of vibe, great castings too, Anthony Edward's a menace 😂
This is the only Sandler movie that I sat through and enjoyed start to end. This guy and Edwards were superb.
Uncut gems??
Juancho seems like a fun, loving person, I'm sure he is❤️❤️ I would LOVE 2 meet him 💖
As a nuggets fan we all loved juancho and when he left it was sad. But this is awesome to see him get the role. He’s also really good friends with the joker as well.
I just watched the movie and it has to be the best basketball movie I've ever seen. And Bo Cruz was just pure Gold. Loved it so much been recommending it to everyone I know.
this must be the only basketball movie you've ever seen then 🤣 .... it was fun I'll give it that (hard not to love seeing all those cameos) but from an art film and acting perspective, it was a joke compared to films like Coach Carter, Hoosiers, Love & Basketball, He Got Game, Blue Chips, White Men Can't Jump, etc. and dare I say it the original Space Jam (even as a family movie, incredible script, and execution of it)
Never had heard of him but I love him after this movie n clip He is so humble come show love
A great job,and a really good movie, his scenes with his daughter, and Sandler are great. Also the ending was great,I won't spoil it,but the twist makes it even better
As a prospect with a lot of talent, he played it good, as a disgruntled kid going thru it he did that well too.
He’s a good actor cause he seems like a happy guy in real life, and in the movie he’s a brooding, always sad or pissed off.
juancho is a definitely a great actor
I appreciate this man. Great movie acting. Love the humility and humor. Love his honoring LBJ as more than just a great basketball player. Hustle is a great, feel good movie.
@IDK17 and the producer of HUSTLE is LBJ😒
@@daryljoms6488 he dumb bro lol forgive him
@IDK17 You do know you are not born a hater? Different type of movie.
@@doncardi8699 lol right
It’s a great movie, I didn’t expect him to be an actual player. He’s awesome!
Well I can tell you this. Juancho is by far the BEST NBA actor of all time time. Better than MJ, Shaq, Charles, Garnett, LeBron and even surpassing Ray Allen's Jesus Shuttlesworth.
Do you know why?
Buggin Jesus shuttlesworth? U reachin
Nah.. Boban fought with John Wick..
I love this, I love this guy and I loved his role in the movie. He really did an amazing job
I was not expecting at all that he was not an actor! Very impressive
He's amazing love from Algeria, your just got another fan❤👌🏻🇩🇿👏🏻
I'm 44, and I can confidently say Hustle is my favourite basketball movie of all-time.
Wow that’s not easy
You must have not seen any other basketball movie then aside from Space Jam 2....
Coach Carter, He Got Game, Love & Basketball, Hoosiers, Blue Chips, Above the Rim etc. masterpieces in comparison
@@zacadams8263 all good. Hustle is better.
Bo was great. 8 range 9 if you consider how they pulled him out of nowhere but Edwards was damn near 10, He was incredible.
Love the Adam’s movie as always and Bo Cruz’s story was inspirational.
He was really good in Hustle!! I can see a future with him in acting.
Dude is actually a good actor...he looked like hes been there b4
I have watched this movie 3 times already. It's a great movie
2 for me
Brilliant acting and heart. Respect from Greece
What a wonderful movie enjoyed you were great Adam too!!! Made me cry and that's hard!:) Good juice.
Two thumbs up!
I don’t watch sports. I don’t like sports. They made a sports movie that I absolutely love and have been recommending everyone to watch. They did an amazing job with this movie. The acting was great bi never would have guessed it was Juancho’s first ever acting role.
Just saw the movie and loved it! I love basketball and am a 6er fan. Never heard of this guy, but will watch the Jazz and pay attention to him next season!
Was just saying the same thing
Great movie, with great acting and a very emotional storyline!
Damn! Great performance by someone who's never acted. Unbelievable! Loved the film, Sandler is incredibly likable in everything he does.
Yes Sandler has become one of my favorite actors. He really makes the character come alive.
Awesome Movie!!! I didn't know he was playing here in the States. Kudos 👏👏👏 He seems like a real nice person
Hope this lands him more roles in the future.
Personally, I didn’t think I was going to like this movie… just thought ya ya another Sandler flick playing the same character.. but it was sooo good. Great story, great acting, basketball scenes were so fun to watch.
Just watched the movie. It's great! Being a big hoops fan and seeing all the players we know and have loved forever was great! Big time NBA players in cameos. And the story was great too. And Queen Latifah too! Movie was really well cast. And in the real world Juancho's brother is a really good player too. Some are saying perhaps they'll be following in Pau and Marc Gasol's steps playing for Spain. Loved the movie!
I think it is a great movie, and Juancho is not so terrible, considering he had no previous acting training of any kind. Btw, he and his brother Willy already played together for the Spanish National Team. In fact, they won the gold medal at the 19 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
Bro! Killed it this movie 💯👍🏾
Just watched the movie last night, best basketball movie I’ve ever seen.
Adam Sandler has grown as a producer . It’s more than just comedy and that’s a good thing.
Adam Sandler's production collaboration with *Lebron James production company*
is probably how so many NBA talents where showcased in this movie ..
which brought to life Lebron's motto, MORE THAN AN ATHLETE ..
(each of those NBA players has really good acting skills, which is impressive)
5:36 his expression says it all! I was quite impressed to find out that he is a real basketball player (saw a lot more negative reviews than good ones but I hope he manages to have a good season with Utah). because of the movie, I started researching and following the NBA a little more (especially with the finals going up now and because, in the past, my dad was an amateur basketball player). so, thank you Juancho for opening the doors for me to another amazing sport that I will follow closer ❤
Such a good basketball movie, i knew he was in in the nba but I couldn’t remember for who until the end lol that’s crazy j I remember that tattoo 👁
Amazing movie🥰🥰🥰 watched it 5times already, probably i'll watch it again and again🙈❤❤❤.
What a lovely man ❤️ he did a great job
Just pulled up and watched this movie and didn't recognize him as jauncho. Just thought the whole time, they really got a actor who's tall and coordinated enough to pass as a pro player.
Figured it out about half way through.
This movie was great and he did a great job in the film. Must watch!!!!
teared up a bit when they showed in one scene where he played using a construction freaking boots (correct me if i’m wrong)
Anthony Edwards killed it he played his part well and so did kenny they all did great !
Pretty good movie in my opinion! Juancho did an excellent job in it... Quite convincing in his role 😎!
Great movie! Very inspirational! Juancho is awesome! Spooky HAS SPOKEN 😎✌️🤣😇
Juancho will always be a fan favorite in Denver.
it’s honestly not a bad basketball movie
Yeah its pretty decent tbh
It’s good actually
@@A10R10 actually amazing
This thread is something else, from "not bad" to "amazing" hahaha
@@aarontebelin9815 Fr 😂
He was phenomenal in the movie! I loved every second of it.
Juancho you have good way ahead of you, just always keep your feet to the ground. Great acting btw it's not the type of acting where some NBA players (LOL) would do something as technically calm and reserve. Bo Cruz, as portrayed by Juancho Hernangomez in the film, was a teenage single parent and whom mostly took lots of weigh in his shoulder his family's responsibilities and adversities and his only escape from these realities is to hustle basketball games in the street of Spain. It just happened he's perfect for the role. The chosen Juan.
