I know I may sound like a jerk or a bully but the scene of Marinette struggling with the translating app had me rolling ever since I was introduced to this show Fun Fact: This was the first MLB episode I've ever watched in my entire existence. well I just watch the fighting scene but yeah.
This was the first episode in which we saw Thomas Astruc's racist tendencies. And for a long time, we didn't even notice ot until it was too late or we were informed of it beforehand by those who did actually notice it in time. Either way, not a good look for Astruc's resume.
Portraying a racist character does not make the creator themselves racist, in the same way that portraying a supervillain does not make the creator a supervillain. Chloe's behavior is clearly meant to be seen as a bad thing, which means the episode is advocating against racism. Now, I know next to nothing about anything Thomas Astruc said online or if any of it is racist, but you cannot claim that he is racist based on this episode.
@@officialmiraculoussins to me, it's not really that he made Chloe racist (considering it's an open secret on how he hates Chloe and sticks every negative trait to her possible.) It's how little he seems to care for different cultures and falls into 2000s movie stereotypes for non-French POC characters. And the fact that Marinette is half Chinese, with parents based on Thomas and his Chinese ex, and blatantly disregards Chinese culture seems to be weird in my opinion. Almost like Tom is saying that of he stayed with his ex and had kids with her, he doesn't think they'd be in tune with their Asian roots (which is weird considering how stereotypical Sabine's character is)
I got myself thinking about it lately. . . Why did Marinette's uncle (I do not know how to type his name. 555) got another chance? Like, he said that someone sabotaged his soup before Alec gave him 0.8, and nothing happened. . . :P Did they prove there were a sabotage? How? Did Chloé confess? Why? They could have explained this in the episode. . . :P
Very good point . . . the episode kind of makes it seem like they gave him another chance because he was akumatized, but that doesn't make any sense because of course he'd be upset that he failed . . . But since Chloe was kicked off the jury, it does seem like they figured out what she did, although why they didn't show it on screen, I don't know.

Even doing a ponytail every day is like an exercise itself since I have long thick hair and my arms always burn from exhaustion 😅. Also I pay you the only reason why Chloe was one of the judges was because she made her father be in it.
I feel like on the roof top battle the animation Kung Food has to introduce himself is the same as in copy cat where they grunt a lot and change position so they just reuse animation
I'm pleasantly impressed they stayed with French text...! It's better than other texts sequences with the made-up language... 😅 Because those don't have further reference whatsoever... (World building... You know little fun facts...) Yeah... The idea is to not use too much text to translate to others languages... But the team originally wanted to promote France... So French could be not bad idea at all... (See!! there's already some fans who can translate short text sequences in the comments!!)
I don't mind the fact that they used French as the text, I think that's fine, I just think they should've translated it since they focused on it. As an example I used anime, which will display English translations of Japanese text if it is relevant to the episode. The text is generally placed right under the original text and sometimes looks terrible, but it does its job. Since they're going through the effort of an English dub and sub, taking the extra time to translate something they focus on like that shouldn't be too difficult.
4:18 in defence of Adrian, he would have to reveal his identity for the "holder of the miraculous of destruction" part to be relevant seeing as mari is behind him. As for horrificator he would start his five minute countdown before detransforming and starting that right off the bat seems unwise. I know I may sound like a jerk or a bully but the scene of Marinette struggling with the translating app had me rolling ever since I was introduced to this show
Fun Fact: This was the first MLB episode I've ever watched in my entire existence. well I just watch the fighting scene but yeah.
1:20 its says
your welome
you owe me twenty thousand crescent now
This was the first episode in which we saw Thomas Astruc's racist tendencies.
Almost like Tom is saying that of he stayed with his ex and had kids with her, he doesn't think they'd be in tune with their Asian roots (which is weird considering how stereotypical Sabine's character is)
Bro somebody help me I forgot about this episode and now I'm cringing and dying at the mandarin as a native speaker 😭😭😭
5:40
Five nights at Freddy's and Willy's Wonderland fallacy exposed.
5:26
Jagged: "rock is one thing, soup is another, when I'm done, you'll be crying for your mother"
Cat Noir: ....
You got it uploaded! Yay! 😁☺️👏🏻
🎉🎉🎉 I'm so relieved haha
@@officialmiraculoussins I checked the miraculous wiki. And if it’s correct. Next I think is origins.
1:58 Okay now they definitely confirmed her to be racist-
Most definitely
@@LyndsayTheGrape xhgsuahxvdyia
I never understood how Marinette can’t speak mandarin considering she has a Chinese mother
Chloé Bourgeois: *exists*
The entire Miraculous fandom: And I took that personally
I say Lila more to be honest and Gabe, Andre (mayor), Andre (ice-cream man), Felix, Marinette I think the fandom just hates all the characters
3:23 Joe Bastianich did this in master chef
I don't even know who that is. XD
1:20 It says:Help me!
You're welcome!
You owe me 2 thousands croissant now!
I wish the ending was Chloe getting burned alive and hawk moth being YOU FOOL YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO GET THE MIRCULOUS’S NOT BOIL A uh 13 year old
Missed opportunity to talk about adrien's incomprehensible chinese
1:20
translation via my shitty french skills (i know french canadian, not french french)
"Oh no!"
"Of nothing!
You owe me twenty thousand croissants now!" (why not just say 20,000? does it take that long?)
Hahaha, thank you! And idk, from my limited French schooling, the French numbering system is very odd. XD
@@officialmiraculoussins im pretty sure french people use numbers as 1234567890 usually instead of in their word form so its kinda confusing
5:26 that would have been crazy for Adrian if they did that
Yay you got it uploaded!!
Yes, thankfully. Thank you for waiting!
In the text it says:
Marinette: Help!
Alya: it was nothing! You owe me twenty thousand croissants Now!
I’m just not used to the new design of the siner, it just looks odd for me
Oh aw, is there anything specific you don't like about it? I'd like to know how I can do better.
@@officialmiraculoussins it’s the mask (no offense) it makes you look goofy, and I also got to see in canon what happened to the other person
@@21Hugues Okay! Thanks for letting me know! Also, technically speaking, both designs ARE the same person, only one is wearing a Miraculous and the other is not, but I get what you're saying.
@@officialmiraculoussins then which miraculous then, I think it’s the butterfly, probably explains why we barely see hawk moth in these sins
@@21Hugues the wolf ;-;
I guess he left the chat 2:34
4:26 trying the flash way of hiding his secret by acting the opposite way of his superpowers i.e flash is late to eveything as barry and cat nori does not break anything as *secret identity I do not know due to quantum masking*
“every time Adrien rubs the back of his head”
Huh that’s a weird way of saying “every time Adrien acts cute”
To be ultimately fair to Chat Noir… if 2003 Donatello’s Bo staff can shatter chains and break swords clean in half and Splinter’s walking stick can cut through leather belt straps… it’s not too weird that a magic staff can cut a rope
You should another sin on each episode in the opening. In the last seconds, the black cat miraculous is UPSIDE DOWN. Which I wonder why they do that.
Oh wow, I've never noticed that before!
I think it's relevant information that French people don't really eat soup, which explains why Chloe says it's not a main dish
Marinette texted " help " whilst aliya texted " your welcome bestie, and now you owe me 20,000 crosonts
Marinette’s texts:
Directly translated: “Of nothing. You must to me 20 thousand croissants now!” (Native French speakers, please help explain why there is no form of donner in there or something like that.)
Actually translated: “Of course. You owe me 20 thousand croissants now!”
2:41 Fang you croc!!!!
Photo-bombing Fang XD
this video just reminded me of how much I hated this episode💀
also, TACO SOUPPPP 🔥🔥
Aw, but it's actually a really cute episode! Also taco soup superiority!
I love ur videos so much ❤❤❤❤
Aw, thank you! ♥♥
5:30 at this part the rhyme was awesome! But uhh I think your forgetting adriens mum is dead 😵 and we don’t know where marrinettes mum is
1:21 for anyone wondering, alya said something about marinette having to give her 20 000 croissants
8:24 MK Reference spotted right here! :3 idk if anyone already mentioned this though
1:20 the alyas text say : Kidney!
You owe me twenty croissants now
dang mayor you got some skills-
Great, but you could just sin the entire show for existing.
The person who made this show actually likes the show sinning the whole show would make this channel boring
I could, but where's the fun in that?
@@officialmiraculoussins true
I love your videos, keep up the great work!! Though, I do disagree with you on the hair and agree with C even though she annoys me so much. It takes me a while to put my hair up in a ponytail especially if I wanted to get all of my hair in it. Even doing a ponytail every day is like an exercise itself since I have long thick hair and my arms always burn from exhaustion 😅. Also I pay you the only reason why Chloe was one of the judges was because she made her father be in it.
1:20
Help me
(✌️😉)
Your welcome
You owe me 20,000 croissants now!
I'm surprised you didn't sin Cheng Sifu's whole "My English not very good" when Paris is a french-speaking city
I feel like on the roof top battle the animation Kung Food has to introduce himself is the same as in copy cat where they grunt a lot and change position so they just reuse animation
Missed oppurtunity to put Naruto music there.
I was going to, but I've never seen Naruto and wouldn't know where to start XD
I'm pleasantly impressed they stayed with French text...! It's better than other texts sequences with the made-up language... 😅 Because those don't have further reference whatsoever... (World building... You know little fun facts...)
Yeah...
My favourite season 1 episode I bet nobody else agrees tho
It's a pretty good episode, tbh! Darkblade is my favorite so far, but Kung Food is a close second.
Please, don’t make the style change permanent
. . . Who's gonna tell him?
@@officialmiraculoussins Yo, me form the past, it’s permanent
I got here before bruh again 🥰🥰🥰🥰 major L for her
She's going to hate you for this XD
4:18 in defence of Adrian, he would have to reveal his identity for the "holder of the miraculous of destruction" part to be relevant seeing as mari is behind him.
As for horrificator he would start his five minute countdown before detransforming and starting that right off the bat seems unwise.
Not disagreeing with the sin you still have a point, I just thought that was worth pointing out.
