Good video. I started buying harvest king bar oil couple years ago as peavey mart puts it on sale often, I noticed I didn't have to tighten the chain as often. Turned out some reviews on UA-cam say that cheap stuff is actually better than some more expensive stuff.
I am gonna give it a try. Years ago, at Bunyan, I got a free sample of Oregon concentrate bar oil, just add water. It poured out of the saw. I think it was, smelled like, that same animal based coolant you use to find in machine shops. Anyway, testing is fun, looking forward to it! Thanks for bringing this to us!
Nothing but used engine oil for me for the last ten years. I have great results with it. It flows well and provides excellent lubrication. At the time of draining, the oil was still good for lubricating components in my engine worth thousands of dollars, and it's certainly overkill for one last pass on a sub $100 chainsaw bar. OR better yet, just use your used hydraulic oil, gear oil, engine oil. If you do not have any your neighbors do and if your neighbors do not your mechanic shop does. All for FREE. Hurts nothing
I tried running biodegradable bar oil namely, stihls biodegradable bar oil. Here in the southern states of the USA bet it will have the same problem had with the bio oil was running, is bugs. The oil actually had a good smell when it got hot on the bar, but when the saw was in storage or put up insects were attracted to it, namely roaches. Go to grab the saw for the first time, and roaches would start crawling out of it, especially when it got hot. That was enough for me to switch back to the Dino oil.

I run canola oil and winter bar oil mix about 75-25%. 4L canola oil = 3$. 4L Canadian tire bar oil 30$. I don’t even care if it’s bad for my saw at those prices. Been running that for 20+ years no issues. Pretty sure bar oil is canola oil with thickeners anyways
The Dewalt branded bottle i bet looks cool sitting next to some Macs! Especially being at one time Stanley Black & Decker owned the Mcculloch brand! Pretty cool!
I usually run a new Oil on an everyday saw. After running one Can I can judge the oil as a lubricant. Then I dip the Chain in the last remaining oil and store the bar with the chain on for a few months. If everything glues together I never buy this oil again. If the oil remains to be a lubricant and if I can just install the bar and continue using it I also accept the oil for the saws that I don't run on a daily basis. Oil that turns into glue in this test can ruin the oilpump of a saw when storing them for a long time and everybody having multiple saws has some saws that are not in use for some time. When having oil in my barn I don't want to worry on using it so I do this test for knowing which oil from the local dealers is ok and which one is crap. Several bio-oils tend to turn into glue after a month or two... Some do, some don't...

Right…which is necessary for a saw.
I needed some big logs like that to make my chainsaws pull hard
perhaps a little anti friction additive will prolong the bars life even more, we use proma in my part of the world definitely not snake oil.
Beautiful!!!!👀😲🤠🤙💪saw!!!
Thanks you for the bar oil eBay bay
Been using old motor oil since 1964.......it's free......am I wrong ?
Ha ha there is no wrong and there is no right 1964. Wow you should not care what anybody thinks of you I know I sure don’t.

LAST VIDEO WASNT THAT BAD . KUDOS FOR THE HIGH STANDARDS. YOU CAN THANK THE CANNABIS OILS FOR THAT
Buckin on the subject of all the advice out there on UA-cam, i FINALLY found a video on those shark gill felling techniques you were talking about awhile back. I was like what in the world is this nonsense 😂
Ha ha
Does it fling...
I'd like to see how Bailey's biodegradable oil stacks up against DeWalt, especially since they're a family business vs a huge conglomerate
Love the 2100 someone stole my 2100 just got it back home and ran it two times after J&S chainsaw did a top an bottom end rebuild and mild woods port. 😢😢😢
Used motor oil/motor oil does the same, Sticky oil is a marketing scheme if you ask me
Too expensive in Australia at $39aud per liter
wow your bar and chain oil is 115.96 gallon i get my bar oil for 7 to 8.00 a gallon
Per 4 gallon
Awesome video
That dewalt bar chain oil is expensive stuff. 💰💰💰
Exactly. Why does anyone pay for bar oil? Used Engine oil works fine. Used gear oil or hydraulic oil works fine. Why would ANYONE PAY $$$ for bar oil? You have to be daft!!! Paying $10/quart for that stuff is INSANE!!! Free vrs $10/hour or more to run your saw... Yes, I wold like $10/hour in my pocket tax free...
you seem passionate about this.. maybe start a business start doing free oil changes for people bottle it up , and yer in business.. just sayin'.. let us know how it goes . with a supportive community like this one , after proving to us your are a good ethical person and you earn out trust through years of good patterns , workin hard, being honest, and being kind, maybe ,, no guarantee but , maybe someone will buy a bottle. there ya go yer on yer way @@w8stral 😉
Why would anyone BUY used oil? They already own it and throw it out at a greater quantity than they use every year and the rare few who need more can pick it up for free. Daft "business" dear sir. @@BuckinBillyRaySmith
Laughable have been running filtered used oil hydro, gear , motor oil mixed the best you can get almost free . Love you anyway Buckin

Well that’s interesting I did not know DEWALT had a bar oil I will give or a try why not and not because you like it but iam always on the lookout for for something that makes the chain clean and keep it cool i trued sthil bar oil ones and never a gain the chain just got hot and smoked hated I tried husky a lot better than they changed from 30 weight for Sumer weather and a light for winter but not no more it’s just this multi weight oil it’s ok but it used to be better
I went through the same thing . This stuff is different
@@BuckinBillyRaySmith Botox line if work hay why not as we know lot of this bar oil don’t work wright the Chain gets hot and as we all know that’s. Not good

Sometimes your enthusiasm passes your common sense, but that's just you , the oil looks like a good idea .😀
I do get excited about the simple things that’s for sure
I think the only thing we wanna know if this is a paid promotion/video. Cause that should be clarified either way
Your business is your business.

Let us know brother this is what Scott is lookin for and why he reached out . I’m sold , it’s just clean
thank you very much. As a small business trying hard to engineer high performance bio products, it's extremely difficult to compete with name brands but we hope the experience changes people's mind about bio-based. We sincerely appreciate your consideration and openness to look at potentially better options. Performance first, sustainability is the extra whip cream and cherry on top.
@@ScottPorter-x8j Scott i was sceptical and if you didnt send me some i wood not have known . this stuff is different , thx again
@@ScottPorter-x8j the change your oil kind in the video description I'm only seeing options for case qty. Is there a source Amazon, Bailey's buckinbillyray maybe to order only 1 gl at a time?
Ah found some under the dewalt label.
Looks like hydraulic oil
Makita bar oil
Morning Buckin and army
Hi Buckin, do you know if it's bio? I volunteer at a wildlife trust in the UK and everything needs to be bio...
no need to reply Buckin, just seen the label! haha
@@deathruddlesdeathruddles5438I’m Lovin it
Mister, you should try a Chinese chainsaw, you will like it.
In a few years, the Chinese will completely own us. They take other manufacturer's R&D and copy their products. It's a ripoff.
Say no to Chinese knockoff garbage.
I did it was garbage and blew up
Yo, that was old chinese saws.
modern Chinese chainsaws are very good@@BuckinBillyRaySmith
@@rollling7523Chinese saws can be ok for the weekend warrior but when we’re out here on the pipe 10 hrs a day those cheap Chinese pistons and rings don’t hold up man. Even running 40-1 and keeping it fat. Take any knock off saw and run it next to the brand name saw you’ll see.
