- This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the next 10 days 05/06/2024
Although high pressure has nearby this week, there has also been an area of low pressure to the north bringing plenty of showers. Next week the high pressure is expected to become dominant with dry conditions developing across most parts. However, it may not be especially warm with temperatures remaining a bit below average.

What tends to happen though is high pressure is predicted for a week, then it changes to several days, then as its almost here we have a day of high pressure before the next low arrives.

Not sure if anyone else would be up for this.. but as an avid watcher of the forecasts, I’d be keen to see a “what actually happened” episode, especially on the 10 day trend. Think it would be cool too see 🤷
Been a howling cold wind and showers all day here in Scotland
I'm sick of the word "showers" what happened to "rain" ? Anyone know what day summer will be this year I'd hate to miss it...
The only reason I have hope is because last summer was absolutely miserable and it’s statistically unlikely that the perpetual autumn we’ve had for months on end continues.
This has really irritated me, I was a few days away from planting tomatoes out, I’m lucky I didn’t.
I'm ready for it being much like last year! You need a greenhouse for tomatoes in this country.....
Statistically the fact that last summer was wet doesn't change the probability of a wet summer this year. Also it's probable that this summer will be wetter because we're in an El Niño year like last year
Personally I find the 10 day trend videos fantastic and really useful. Would love to see them increased to say twice per week rather than once per week. Thanks everyone involved 😃

This year and for a while, all of the models tend to be unreliable after about 3 days. Only thing one can say is there's a tendency for northerly winds and anticipated highs tend to get squeezed out by lows. UK is a magnet for lows!
Wow! That's interesting. My husband was a helicopter pilot. He always said the UK could only predict approx 3 days weather that's why they had to do flight plans within a day of so. That's so great you noticed that.

The forecast last night was for the High out to the west, to sink south allowing Lows to move in from the Atlantic. So this has changed over night.
I can’t remember the last time I saw a prevailing south westerly. Constantly stuck in limbo or battered by lows 😞
Unpacked my woolly jumpers…..i’d put them away for ‘summer’ 😂

Not great. My honey bee colonies are not finding this easy either. Little nectar flow, no spring crop to take off.
Is the high going to happen this time? The last one forecast didn't.

It must be so difficult trying to predict our weather.
But please...stop promising some warm weather ie this latest deep dive. We always end up with low pressure dominating. I love the outdoor life but sick of being wet and cold. Warmest month on record etc. Rubbish. Not in the North West of England it isn't.
