A lovely video. I was in Harrods in October. Unfortunately, they didn't have all the selection on show but I managed to get a few Christmas things to take back to New Zealand for gifts. It's a place that is always on my list when I visit London.

Years ago I worked at nearby South Kensington and used to walk up to Harrods food hall at lunch time once a week to get a sandwich. I'm just retired and now visit the food hall once a year in December to buy some gifts and a few goodies to eat now. It isn't cheap but it's a wonderful splurge.

But, I have always wanted to go to Harrod's bc of how beautiful it is around Christmas time. Plus, love the food items and the homeware. Some of these items are shippable to the USA. The tin of biscuits, the Christmas cake, and some teas I remember seeing. So if anyone is interested, go to their website and see what they ship.
You expect the prices to be high. In Canada we have Pusateri's and Eataly in Toronto. Their food is high priced but they have food choices that you can't find elsewhere.
Or you can afford it, but believe in keeping within a cerrain spending budget. The best way to keep affording nice things is to not mismanage what you have and know what things cost.

Apparently, they donate to local charities like St Cuthberts and try to reuse the food where possible like unsold fruit and veg in their smoothies etc.
situated where it is harrods has a vibe which is all its own! the food hall is always wonderful you can mooch and pick up something really nice to take home with you (that maybe you haven't thought of buying before)..and ask for a sample! would recommend fortnum and mason for some tea type goodies as well as the wonderful meat and wines in selfridges which is probably overlooked ..all of them have food to eat in which just puts you into the christmas spirit!

I am not a lover of brussels sprouts either. But a friend made a salad with raw brussels sprouts shredded up. It was delicious. You might try a raw salad. To me the chase is totally different. If you were interested, it was just shredded brussels sprouts, cranberries, sugared, pecans, bacon, scallions with a vinaigrette

How can you love a place like this when you hear of the horrors that al Fayed inflicted upon women? The place is a crime scene and should be boarded up!
Yes, basically an English Christmas cake is a dark, rich , fruit cake often with some alcohol infused (brandy, port..). It is often made one to two months in advance to allow the flavour to develop. In most of England, the top is then covered in marzipan and white icing made with icing sugar, water and a few drop of glycerin. However, in North Yorkshire, where I come from, we don’t put marzipan and icing on, we just have a slice of the cake with a slice of Wensleydale cheese - delicious 😋.
The main problem for me is that the quality is so bad nowadays. The quality is much better and the prices are much lower in kislux small boutiques. There is just no marketing. When I was a little girl the luxury goods were much better than the cheaper brands.
My wife and I just returned from London and did the "Harrods Tea" thing. Well, she liked it, but I thought it sucked. If you want a nice shopping experience, go to Fordham and Mason's it's much nicer. Harrods was too poo poo.

What is Christmas cake? Is it like a fruit cake?
Yes, basically an English Christmas cake is a dark, rich , fruit cake often with some alcohol infused (brandy, port..). It is often made one to two months in advance to allow the flavour to develop. In most of England, the top is then covered in marzipan and white icing made with icing sugar, water and a few drop of glycerin. However, in North Yorkshire, where I come from, we don’t put marzipan and icing on, we just have a slice of the cake with a slice of Wensleydale cheese - delicious 😋.
The main problem for me is that the quality is so bad nowadays. The quality is much better and the prices are much lower in kislux small boutiques. There is just no marketing. When I was a little girl the luxury goods were much better than the cheaper brands.

My wife and I just returned from London and did the "Harrods Tea" thing. Well, she liked it, but I thought it sucked. If you want a nice shopping experience, go to Fordham and Mason's it's much nicer. Harrods was too poo poo.

Better visit Moscow Russia. Moscow Capital region is 48000 Square Kms a city which is fifteen times bigger than London,. Moscow much cleaner, beautiful with very good law and order situation. In Moscow you would not find filth, garbage, homeless people, muggers, bandits and even now police man. People in Moscow are very disciplined, law abiding and vey well behaved and quite. You would not even find Police in the streets of Moscow. Moscow has excellent road and rail infrastructure. Moscow Metro Railway is the most beautiful in the whole World. Moscow has great places to visit and very big and swanky shopping malls, hyper markets, super markets and departmental stores. London is dirty dingy, cramped, antiquated with hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants and radicals Islamists and homeless people.
