This is amazing, my old pc use to eat almost 300 WATTS when i would game :(
could you post the idle wattage while in normal mode and power saver enabled? would be great to see what the absolute lowest power draw is
Thanks for the banner at the bottom of game tests clarifying the settings.
all of these NUC / MiniPCs continue to put the DP ports in the front. They should at least put one in the back for a third screen.
Agreed. The port configuration is not the best layout.
The average user won't use 1, let alone 2 Ethernet ports on this mini PC. Not sure what the purpose of that is. They would have been better off having at least 1 USB-C on the back.
What a goofy thing to do. Port layout is important
All? This is the first I see with such in the front.
@@TrusteftTech I think *most* of the AMD Ryzen Mini PCs that have a USB-C port on the front are using it as a third video output (dp-alt). My GMKTec M5 has it. I think some of the Intel mini PCs using USB4/thunderbolt have also had ports on the 'front'
@@Rushil69420Having a USB-C as a possible display out in the front is not the same thing as having a DP port in the front and claiming/complaining that all mini pcs have a DP port in the front. Is it?
Awesome review, I'm about to get an Acer Swift Go 14 with this same CPU, Im not into all AAA games but it seems to run decent in decent amount of titles.
So this is worse yet more expensive than um 790 pro that came out 10 months ago? Or am I wrong?
This is Business focused (they sell it under ASRock Industrial brand), which increases it's cost as it includes some security features useful for Businesses (which are not found in Consumer variants).
As for performance, yeah Intel is still behind AMD for integrated solution.
True but ETA Prime is a gaming and emulation focused channel so from that perspective there’s really no point buying this product. Of course ETA will never do comparisons until long after his “deal” ends with whoever provided the product for free, but that’s the same as a gazillion other UA-camrs. He just stands out more because his videos are so formulaic these days.
@@bluetech2809 I'd also kind of suggestion ASRock is the kind of company you might expect more reliability out of. Beelink and Minisforum and the companies that look like someone face mashed their keyboard are... fine... but when something goes wrong the universal answer is "well, what did you expect from them?" which is kind of a crappy answer.
Far worse. Having said that, I don't know how good this CPU is going to be with video editing with its quicksync. Depending on the video editing software, it might be better, but I don't know.
You are correct, it's even worse than the 780 xtx which has oculink and is about $200 less than this one...
quite frankly, from what I've read, if you're interested more in gaming and editing then you should stick to amd pc's. Intel is more for the business minded. Not saying they can't play any games but for the most part amd runs them better...at least for now, intel has been playing "catch-up" for years.
'And I have to say, this might be the best mini pc I've ever got my hands on!'
Bro, i suggest you unsubscribe him
And it’s not necessarily a lie either.
Time to retire this meme. I've genuinely been waiting for a Core Ultra mini PC, it actually is pretty fast.
@@sayyedhaseebironically it gives the channel more engagement...
the only thing that stops me from subscribing to this channel is how cookie cutter the content is.
I think when arm cpus can run windows perfectly, I hope we have powerfull mini pcs as well. 😉
I'm waiting to see if arm can play nice with dGPUs. Also the newest Snapdragons and Dimensities can "do raytracing." Although I'm not sure how good or viable RT on ARM is yet 🤣
I really doubt that windows on arm will ever work correctly for everything, but I could be wrong.
Gaming is about the only reason to keep on windows now vs Linux desktop.
Great performance from 60 watt apu
Wonder if you'll get your hands on the Aoostar GEM12. It's similar to the "Cyberpunk" mini pc you reviewed awhile back, but uses a USB-C for power and video. It's amazing for the price. Waiting until they get back in stock.
I would only use this for a few Steam games myself. If this mini PC could do GC and PS2 emulation upscaled to 1440p. then that'd be sufficient for me.
This could've been a good candidate for some sort of Oculink port using the spare M.2 slot.
can you review asrock deskmeet x600? it's the update for x300 and support AMD 8000 series
It would be interesting if you could also test linux on these mini pcs in the future. Specifically if the performance is better or worse and of course differences in power draw. You could probably stick to something like chimeraOS for gaming benchmarks.
I noticed from the marketing language that this is being sold as an "AI PC". We are really getting to the point now where at least *some sort* of AI performance benchmark is going to be needed. Personally, I would like to see something with T/s data (both prompt processing and streaming) for some standardized prompt using 7B, 34B, and 70B LLM models at 4- and 8-bit quants (LM Studio would be sufficient for that, given how easy it is to install and switch models on Windows machines) as well as some data on I/s for a Stable Diffusion model. I'd like to ask for more than that, but I think those tests would be enough to get the point across.
hi tech peeps. i have a question about oculink. what is the difference between the flat thin black pre installed cable and the blueish rounder cable that can plug in and out performance wise? or are they the same thing in different forms? i hear the cable quality is important but cant seem to find any info on witch is better.
So the CPU itself sits on the board's other side, or …? As for the integrated cooling plate, is there some hint as to how high the M.2 is allowed to be? (After all, there's some that come with an integrated heatplate, which adds 1-2mm over "naked" ones.)
from my understanding intel likes vulkan. maybe try dxvk or in-game vulkan options when available to get better performance?
you didn’t make a full video on about the legion go overclock?
Game performance is also based on game maker, if they want to play along with Intel. Some are paid out for Nvidia or AMD only.
What if you disabled the performance cores? Leaving more wattage for the GPU? And higher bandwidth ram?
Is this the best mini PC you have reviewed so far?
this dont have the npu?. i didnt see it in the taskmanager when you opened it
Batocera and emulation? Any good for PS3 or Xbox 360? Or does 780M still look better?
I’m convinced this “man” is just an AI slave at this point being forced to crap out the same shit over and over. Cool vid!
Emulator performance? Interested in a fully fledged emu box.
Why no comparison with amd apus and other intel core ultra so we can see the overall performance?
i wish if u add primer pro and davinci resolve test performance
When this one go on shelf for purchase ?
How easy to clean the fan and heatsink?
NICE... 👍👍😜🤣😁😎
please asrock release a i9 14/13 gen max core version with max ram tall case and still add a HD header for 2.5
Sir this processor has npu ?
If has, then wait for 3 or 4 th gen NPU / processor.
Because after 3 gen . It will well furnished. Or good software support for NPU.
NPU are in developing mode. Wait for 3 years.
"Wait longer for better tech when you're getting sent these units for review free of charge."
"Wait 3 years and have nothing in the meantime because better stuff is on the way."
"Never buy any tech product on the basis that, maybe? there will even be a use case for the NPU 3 years from now."
What is a mini pc for school or gaming?
Wow, in the CPU-Z stress tests, some cores were hitting about 90 degree within 20 seconds of the load start ...
EDIT: finished the video. the clocks on CPU and GPU are abysmal, not even reaching e-core max turbo and iGPU was 1900 highest. PPT was 40W tops in games. Eithere there are too many cores here or the power management sucks or system was thermal throttling (insufficient cooling?). In any way a disaster all around.
Not really, you just have to put the fan curve to maximum, the 12700H nuc which is practically the same thing but with an A770M Arc gpu is able to maintain great cooling (around 60C) when you run cpuZ for a while, preformance wise the 12700H is only 5% slower overall than the 55H. mind you, both use the exact same type of cooling system.
@@dankmemes3153 intel or non-intel nuc? There's a lot of companies using the nuc name but not the same design quality
@@lubossoltes321 intel’s, I’m referring to the NUC 12 Enthusiast serpent canyon edition.
I wouldn’t trust any other branded NUC other than Intels. Too bad they discontinued it. Gonna wait and see how good this one in the video is.

Isn't this the one in the claw?
I'm very late to this comment, but yes
wish i can find a decent i7 with Nvidia but its like all the place are pushing amd abit to much look for a good lite wt pc but i seen that also amd been having trouble with drives i have trouble with amd i was thinking on geting one of those asus urta books f i would got a razer but gezz they pushing light wt systems with amd trubble with windows 11 updates amd also have driver trubles
780m equipt mini pc around same price in my opinion is a better deal
This little NUC deserves a Linux install. Not freakin Windoze!
Great video, great channel 👍
Thank you for power consumption info.
Kindest regards, neighbours and friends.
I noticed you don't test any emulation anymore. 😢
Question:why would you want a barrel jack for power instead of usb c?
This threw me off too. I guess with barrel jack your one cord will give correct power everywhere, but if still prefer usb-c..
Clicking on this video:
Oh cool a new mini P....
*Arc iGPU*
.... Nah.
Damn, Spiderman is unplayable even if you had 100fps with that kind of artifacts. I'm wondering how many people would play like that for real??
Don't see why theres so many people complaining about him saying its the best mini pc hes gotten his hands on yet.
I'd assume every time he reviews something, he is looking for the newest hardware and tech available in a specific class (price, size, etc). It would be silly if he purposefully reviewed things that are progressively worse?
specifically in this case it is not true. the the AMD miniPCs based on 7840HS beat this thing in almost all workloads ...
People just like to complain, we see the same comments on every video and it gets old fast. I think there are some people who see the notification and watch the video immediately just so they can say something negative before anyone else.
What I would like to know is. How do these tiny computers compare to consoles? Are they comparable to a PS4 or Xbox One are they better are they worse. It's a metric plebs like me can understand.
I know your hands are probably tied by the people who give you gear for review, but I do like that you put in how much juice it's sucking.
Круть)))
Why it eats 20watts while idle, Intel as always full speed nuclear reactor even in small PS's.
Intel is not producing Intel Nuc anymore. Asus or AsRock is now managing all of it
How does this handle a eGPU
Once again, the RAM and SSD are going to heat up to 80°C, so be ready for them to die any second
So conclusion : it is not all awesomeness but ETA is actually mildly disappointed in the gaming performance, so get an AMD mini with a 780M APU. (Given its performance I'm actually happily surprised by the power consumption of the Intel which maxes at 71W )
😁😁😁👍👍👍.....
I’ve had two of those “lite weight” PCs. Both crapped out in about 18 months. They are cool while they last. After a while they will crap out on you I guarantee.
Maybe you don't know how to use them...?
@@UA-camGlobalAdminstrator quite possible…
same hardware of MSI Claw
Can you adjust the dedicated VRAM? That's going to be the game changer
Do you... not understand that the "VRAM" allocation is simply there for passing game checks that require a specified amount before loading?
The GPU RAM will absolutely go over the allocated amount when it's needed by default.
Only poorly-designed games that have a "You don't have 2GB of VRAM, I'm not going to open!" message will be impacted.
I bet ETA PRIMES family always have the latest tech to play with, it must be a massive task just organising the logistics of getting all these devices. Let alone doing a review of each one! I bet he is on 1st name terms with every postal worker in the area. I wonder if he gets to keep some of the computers and if others need to be sent back after review? At least these computers don’t take up much space… although if he has 28 to review each month then they will..
$700 barebones, meaning no ram or storage.
Let’s see this with an eGPU.
I hate how its 2024 and theres still no DP connectors. Hdmi sucks.
USB-C with DP-alt mode means that it supports DP through a cheap, simple cable.
It, literally, has DP connectors in USB-C form factor.
There is nothing wrong with HDMI.
@@tim3172usb-c with DP sucks just like HDMI. just give me the fucking DP port
Throw in some emulation please.
That thing is way to expensive
The CPU reached 96C in 15 seconds of stress test. 15 seconds. How much higher would it get in 5 or 10 more seconds?
Meh.
Regarding the performance of Intel's iGPU, some times it feels like Intel is trying to make sure their iGPU perform relatively similar to their previous generations. Disappointing.
And I am not even talking about their drivers.
The sad thing for me is I am pretty sure (based on Cyberpunk), my GTX860M is getting beat by this low performing iGPU, by a lot.
I would like to see some video editing tests with it.
$700 without tax, and as a barebones system....LOL.
Do you... not understand how opportunistic boosting works?
The CPU is designed to run at 110 °C all day, every day.
110C is.. how hot it gets. It then optimizes itself to run as fast as it can within temperature, power, and timing limits.
It's a business system that comes with volume purchasing discounts... LOL
@@tim3172 You... *sigh*. I am not even going to bother.
Waaay too expensive as barebone..
Palworld, a ps3 looklike game with TERRIBLE programing that needs a ps5 to be played XD
Imagine paying almost $700 for this trash
Not to mention, barebones.
No one cares about 1080p low in 2024
Day 103 of asking for a PC for my college.
If you got a job some 30 days ago, you'd already have enough for a PC for college.
You'd have 3 by now.
I can't watch him anymore. He is a sell-out. Everything is the most powerful.
Why on gods green earth would you prefer some proprietary barrel jack that I cant use with all of my existing usb-c charging devices. Please do not listen to this man.
