The extra iron shovels can be disenchanted for XP and then smelted down in a furnace to make iron nuggets. There might be enough for an ingot or two, but ymmv on whether it’s worth the time/fuel investment. I am enjoying this series so far, can’t wait to see where it goes.
Same should work for diamond, but since diamond nuggets aren't a thing, it should be more efficient

Need a shelter for them otherwise the rain will end up killing them. Even if they are standing in lava…better cold then dead. Hopefully after she gets enough non-burnable material (cobblestone) she can get that set up for them.

Yeah, she needs some dripstone and a cauldron to reproduce more lava just for them! But even flowing lava would at least keep them warm. They deserve a sanctuary.

These skyblock episodes are truly just relaxing and so fun to watch these are so aestheticly pleasing

One mechanic I'm glad they finally added is that you can make an infinite lava source with dripstone. It makes it so much easier to keep resources going!

@@ireneqq2300 I'll explain :-) It's just because Goose was Gem's cat on Hermitcraft and you know what happened at the end with the hermit island. Everyone who was left there most likely died and so did Goose I suppose.

When you continue this, Gem you need to make a cute little enclosure for the striders in the zoo. That would be really cute!
you can make sticks out of the bamboo as well! it's a lot faster than chopping trees if you have a good amt of bamboo for sure
still not that good of a deal imo.
If you want to get level 30 enchanting before sugar cane, just make a Lecturn and trade with a Librarian to get more bookshelves

Gem: you can put down the magma blocks as a floor in a corral for the strider - that will help to keep it warm.
Gem this is one of my favorite series. In the past playing one block is really stressful for me but you make it so relaxing I can't help but enjoy it. You bring the cottage core and comfort I would expect out of your cute survival worlds into this one block madness. I love this video and this content overall.

You should definitely put a hopper under that cobble generator. Otherwise lots of cobble will get burnt up in the lava (I think up to 40%)

Another great episode, love these! I wonder if there's enough obsidian to build a portal to the Nether yet. Also, would the magma blocks help keep the striders warm? And Goose... ohhhh, my heart. But those ghast screams are definite nightmare fuel, haha. Looking forward to the next installment!
If you are fighting the Wither, then fight it on it's own platform. Make sure it is a few layers thick with a layer of water between them. You don't want it to blow up the whole area or else you will fall into the void.

Build a home for the striders!! Because they *love* lava, you could also put the cobble generator in there so it somewhat blends in! It shouldn’t be a problem get lying to it either because the striders are friendly!! Also, I have some names for them!!

You might be wondering what their names have to do with striders, and in reality, not much. They’re the names of my dogs who LOVE walking!! Most of them have a funny stride when they walk to, so it kinda matches!!!

A very long cobble bridge, and some waterlogged stair walls and top slabs, you can make a discount blast proof wither containment.
Don't fight the wither! I wouldn't yet. You need way more protection, and I don't want your beautiful Island to be destroyed. Maybe even fight the wither on a remote place you can create bridging out? Also, make a lava pool for the striders, and for the one block area, I suggest masking walls on every side but where you mine, so you can go out of the mob's range when you want. Loved watching you grind, loved the video, and can't wait for the next faze!!!

Hello! So I saw in the video where Gem asked if she should fight the wither in oneblock skyblock, and here's what you should do so its easier to win. Go out far so you dont get your main island destroyed, then make a huge cobble box or a stronger block box, and spawn it, try your hardest not to lose your world while fighting (if your on hardcore) :D
Not just huge, but THICK! Several layers thick, so if some blocks get destroyed she won't fall into the void.
i have never ever got bored watching gem's vids and the "Hello Everyone" is probably my favorite part of it, she's too sweet.

Expanding the lava source out and then slabbing it off like the mob grinder would give you a convenient spot for the Striders.

An idea I had was to put a piece of obsidian behind the cobble generator, so you could just hold down your mouse instead of having to click and release all the time. The cobble will generate faster than the obsidian will break, so you shouldn't worry about mining through it.

out of all the oneblock skyblock let plays this is the most peaceful one so far.
With all the nether blocks you got, it would be cool to see a little Nether Garden for the Striders. Maybe it could be behind your mansion, like your thinking space.
If you need more books you could always get a librarian villager who trades bookshelves :)

Gem if you want the Striders to be warm you can use instead of lava, magma will also make them warm. Happy New Years gem!

With all that lava you should make a little nether enclosure in the zoo for your striders
A silk touch pick could have harvested the Crimson and Warped Nylium blocks; then bone meal them to get the mushrooms and presto, Crimson and Warped stem blocks and planks, plus shroom lights. Could have gotten silk touch from a librarian villager, and also infinite bookshelves from the first librarian. Plus easy emeralds from iron trades once an iron farm is made. Plus, with infinite emeralds and infinite bread = infinite villagers, = infinite iron, = easier emeralds, = infinite books, = all the librarians, = all the enchanted books, also a few weapon smiths, armour smiths, and tool smiths = all diamond gear + perfect enchantments.
Hooray! You alternated the crops! Also, that Gast sound is the stuff of nightmares! I know they try to attack you, but hearing them die always makes me feel a little bad inside.

You don't even need sugar cane! You could get a librarian, and get them to trade bookshelfs, so that's free books right there.
Make one of your villagers a librarian using a lectern and getting mending for your diamond tools/weapons BEFORE upgrading them to netherite. I believe it makes it cheaper. Also you can get a book shelf trade from librarians as well! Lastly, spoiler-ish for the level? But I BELIVE this is the level that has bees in it! You want to make a bee enclosure RIGHT AWAY and always have flowers in your hot bar. Otherwise you just get a ton of bees lost to the void. :C
gem- if you would like to keep the striders around, i suggest making a lava pit, and putting a roof over their heads. the lava keeps them from shivering, the roof is to prevent them from taking rain damage.
Gem! You could make a pretty tower with a cobblestone and stone brick foundation, with the top section the brewing/enchanting setup!

Gem if you want to start enchanting properly use the librarian villagers bookshelf trade. To make a lectern 1 bookshelf which is 3 books and 6 planks are needed which you've got. As for books break the shelves and you've got em, sugar cane isn't required.

Re wither…. Don’t end the series so soon! Would you build a far off island and an obsidian box? You’d need smite iv, health pots, milk… so scary, but if you pull it off, completely boss.
You should put a crafting table behind where the cobble generates in the direction that you mine. The block can catch on fire but it won’t burn and if you hold down your left mouse button to mine with a pickaxe it won’t break through before the next cobble generates. Makes it easy to just hold the button or AFK with an auto clicker.
