What a fantastic little journal. Can't wait to make one. For future reference... you could've gone with your original idea and simply snipped a hole in the lace to thread your sari closure through rather than cutting it off. 😉

Oh so often do we see the “perfect crafts” n to be honest, when I have my “well damn” moments, it makes me feel so very inadequate… it is so good to know that you are human, I love how you include the solving of issues. Often I get those moments n go throw it all in the trash n start over because I get stuck. So thank you so much. Love the tutorials so much.

Thank you for making this journal. I've just started getting into junk journals and an 'envelope' journal intrigued me. You may have felt embarrassed by the mistakes, but I appreciated it. In starting a junk journal I've made plenty of mistakes, and it was nice to see how you problem solved the situations you encountered. I will definitely be watching more of your videos!

Something you might not have considered…I noticed several times you skipped steps and stated that we knew how to do that. But there are many viewers who are new and might not know how to do that step. And then there are viewers like me. I have never made a journal and probably never will. I just like watching you do it and hearing your voice. Those who do know how to do all the steps and are bored, also know how to fast forward. Just something to think about. Thank you for your lovely videos and projects.

Your glue looks like it needs to be thinned with acetone. I learned that from NikTheBookSmith. Also, in ref to the volcano, JenofEveDesigns finds that not shaking it down but letting it naturally flow helps the problem, too. I'm going to try the Artymaze way, too .

I love the video and will be making one with my own mistakes! I also watch prime videos and finished watching Home Fires and they ended it at the second season right in the middle of a wedding and never finished the plot line. So sorry like so many others. I loved the series Numbers too and watched it every week and thought it would be good for math teachers to show their classes. I will have to watch it now that you shared it was on prime. I usually watch game channel or food shows and then I get hungry. I love football too and have watched and gone to games of the Cowboys since junior high age and I'm 66 now! I also watch Texas Tech and follow them since I graduated from there and watched Mahomes play there and now watched him win the Super Bowl this year!

    • @thebookvandalshop5592

Yes, I hate that they end shows like that right in the middle of a plot. I was watching 'My Mother and Other Strangers' (another show on PBS) and didnt realize they had ended it after 1 season. I was so frustrated when I couldn't find the next season. I watch the Cowboys a lot because Zeke played for Ohio and we're big OSU fans. Also, like watching Dak Prescott (my daughter's name is Dakotah 😊)

I purchased mine in store at Hobby Lobby. Not sure if you have a Hobby Lobby where you are but I've put the link here for you www.hobbylobby.com/Scrapbook-Paper-Crafts/Card-Making/Envelopes-Seals/Kraft-Envelopes---5-3-4"-x-8-3-4"/p/140987

My friend and I are doing this project during the shelter in place. I hope to post it on my UA-cam channel tomorrow or Saturday.

Thank you! That means a lot. It's a tough world on youtube. You wouldn't believe some of the judgemental mean comments I've received. I try to remove them quickly so subbies don't have to see them. People sometimes expect perfection and forget there's a real person behind the camera that reads those comments..... so thankful for the kind encouraging words 💙

Thank you so much for sharing your process. I’m just getting back into journal making and you make it look so much easier than it used to be. Do you mind if I ask what nail polish you have on? It’s gorgeous too!! 🥰

Oh thank you! I have no idea what color it is. I pay someone to do my nails and I usually tell her to just put on whatever color she likes

Thanks for joining me. Sorry for the boo boos but it worked out in the end. Ideally I like 15 minute videos but I didn't really want more than 3 parts. I don't like videos to be overly long either.

I didn't get what sort of cloth you used to reinforce the spine. Sounded like "Surrey." My question is: could one sew the signature into the cloth and then glue the cloth on to an additional spine reinforcement? This would conceal the thread stitches and perhaps make it unnecessary to cover the spine from the outside also. It would also be a lot easier to handle the sewing. Would the book come apart if one did this?

The cloth was Sari. Sari silk ribbon is recycled from old sari garments (India women's dresses). It makes beautiful ribbons and if purchased from a fair trade supplier, provides income to Indian women

I think that method would probably work just fine.
