This video has captured the sense of adventure and possibility afforded by the paramotor. I'm just over here trying to figure out how long it would take me to drive to Idaho to get a glimpse of that beautiful landscape. I wish this one would go viral so people could understand why we are passionate about paramotors!
Colten, this is probably the most beautiful content I have seen. Incredible edit, sound, colors. Breath taking. A bit scary and on the other hand relaxing and calm in a way that I would say no other paramotor YT pilot does this. The combination of adventure/bush/backcountry is just brilliant. Can't wayt for another video!
Wow! This has been a dream to do and to see you do it is amazing! I'm in the Spokane, CDA area and just purchased a paramotor this year. Would love to fly with you!
so hold on! you landed there with all that gear. drone for cinematic shots. batteries. food. and probably something to defend yourself against dinosaurs or what ever is living nearby? jesus so epic! 😳waaaay out of my comfort zone. if i land that and slip. break a prop i am stuck there forever.
16:00min things you could do better? yes stop trolling us by having this new channel while your other channel with million subs is hidden somewhere! the cinematic shots after packing. music fits to sun poking over the mountain. overall bloody perfect video quality. there is no way you have just 700 subs. your channel looks super professional. the way you explain stuff is nice and makes all us keyboard warriors envy as heck that we are sitting here and cant do the same or be there. man this was insane. i remember i asked you to include some shots of fire making food and you really did it. channel like this are rare. i wish you all the best.
After watching thousands of PPG videos over the years, I found the ULTIMATE one... and it's right in my backyard! Your filming and editing matched the beauty of the landscape perfectly Colten; well done! ⛰
This was beautiful man. Thank you. My only suggestion… I was listening with earphones and there’s quite a lot of bass rumble in the very light breeze. If you put a high pass filter on the field recording audio, at around 100-120hz it will sound so much cleaner and none of the important audio (voice, nature sounds etc) will be affected at all. Thank you.
Dude I saw some of your videos awhile ago and has to come back and watch again, they are top notch and very calmly entertaining! I also resonate with your passion for para camping but still have done it yet. Thankyou for this video it’s motivated me!! 🪂😃
I just finished watching all your videos. Thanks for the inspiration. Nice to meet you Colton. Hopefully one day we can fly together. Keep up the good work. Thanks man
Great video, love the edit and the colour grade and the time you take to set it all up. Some great info as well on fly camping. You fly in a beautiful area. 👍
Awesome! I just took my first flight this week... having fun nailing the flare and landing on my feet but the flying is so much fun! Im really looking forward to fly camping as im in the Mountains as well! Your list is about the same as mine. I look forward to getting the hours and experience to do this!
Solid video - high value info and engaging to watch. Thanks for taking the extra time to set up your shots as it really pays off in the final edit. Nice work!
Lots of planning and safeguards put in place before doing a trip like this to minimize the risk of getting stranded, but yes there is always still that risk, but that’s what makes these sorts of adventures so much fun and rewarding!

Great video! I fly the same wing (Gin Vantage) just the other color option. Does that side mount bag block your reserve path? Maybe you where just showing it on that side for the video, but it looks like it would block a reserve deploy? Anyway, love the video. I am working towards some fly camping myself. Slowly building the gear and the skills to do it. Also live in Grizzly, black bear, wolf, lion country!
Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it! Your gonna love fly camping, there’s nothing more fun to do with a paramotor in my opinion. The side mount bag does get in the way of the reserve somewhat, but I’m still able to deploy it it’s just slightly slower to get to the handle, but I have a way of doing it where it’s not too bad. I also attach that side bag slightly different than the other side, so that the reserve brindle is still able to come out without it getting caught up by the bag. Thanks for watching!
Your content is amazing!! As a newer pilot myself and trying to get into YT I do have a question...How do you hold your GoPro selfie stick under your leg? When I hold mine it just flips and rotates what do I need to do different? And keep up the videos they are so fun to watch.
I just stick mine under my leg. My selfie stick has a flat handle on the end which keeps it from rotating. Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the cotent!
Hello. This is a real adventure! It seems you have a really great camera/lens as well. I'm wondering how much is the leg stress during landing. What is the weight of all your stuff (paramotor, fuel, food, camping, cameras, etc.). And what is your own weight?
Less stress isn’t an issue at all, as long as the flare is properly timed. I personally weigh 190lb. And my all up weight with everything is normally around 310lbs by the time I’m fully loaded with all my camera/camping gear and fuel.
Those scout side bags are awesome, but I've found that they hit your fuel economy pretty hard (up to 15% for me). So keep that in mind if you're going for distance. The scout front bag is much better.
Yeah they affect it a bit, but so does all the extra weight, I’ve been using them for several years now, and found them to be the best option. Thanks for the feedback.
Yes that is always a possibility, especially while flying in the mountains. With todays modern gliders they are very collapse resistant and safe, but it can still happen so we often tend to fly either in the mornings and evenings when the air is the calmest, and avoid midday especially during the warmer months. We also spend time practicing collapsing the wing on purpose during advance training clinics, and also while kiting the wing on the ground to help us learn how to react and recover the wing from a collapse. 👍🏻
@@coltenwenger thank you. Iv wanted to do what your doing sence the first time I saw a paramotor but Early on I seen a video of an instructor get killed like that because of thermals collapsing the wing
I think that sleeping next to the engine is not the best idea, even if you are separated with the tent. Some chemicals has no smell and still very toxic. Keep it ventilated. Stay safe.
About the Chase Cam, the stock line is too long, you need to shorten it so that it goes over the hoop when landing, you will have no more issues with it, been there, done that
@@coltenwenger yup, just play with the camera angle in the mount, if you need to point the camera up further than what the mount allows to get the whole wing in shot, just mount the camera upside down and you can point the camera as far up as you like
It would be pretty difficult…not impossible but you’d have to be able to run with 140+lbs of gear on your back. Also depending on which state you live in, you can’t hunt for 48hrs after flying in an aircraft. The best way to do a backcountry hunting trip is with a big tandem trike. I know guys who have done it and then they are able to easily carry all their gear plus they’re able to load the meat up on the trike after killing an animal and fly it out!
Non existent. I’m very careful to never spill gas on my paramotor, and I keep the tank drained because I store my motor in my house so it never smells like gas.
Many thanks for your swift reply. 😊 Im going witha big agnes copper spur. Very light and compact. And then a cover for the paramotor to set it outside the tent.
That’s where lots of takeoff and landing practice comes in. I used to be really nervous while fly camping just anticipating the launch but, getting out and doing tons of launching, landing and kiting practice made me so much more confident. Thanks for watching!

If 6700 people watched this as it says and only 324 "liked it" they did NOT like it out of jealousy and spite.
good on buddy for making it happen.

fantastic man!!! another tip: tell the public to take the litter back home when they leave.
Definitely a good tip! I get so irritated seeing trash in our beautiful mountains
Now that is one very nice shirt you got there :)

Great video! Looked a stunning little adventure 👍🏼
The best video of paracamping I ever see! thanks, Muy completo, bien filmado y muy didactico. Suelo hacer Paracmping aca en Argentina.
Thank you!!
Love your videos!
That’s so cool!!!😮
Thank you
Dude that was so sick!!
Excellent video. I hope to do some fly camping in the future, always has been on my bucket list.
Do it man! You’ll become addicted!
Awesome man. I'd be way to scared of getting stuck out there. Engine not starting the next day, bad conditions to take off, etc.
