As an audio engineer for decades I never really cared for cover bands because they never do justice to the songs. You guys have single handedly changed my mind.
@@MetroPCSPhoneUnboxxer everything. Their arrangements are killer, the playing is exemplary and the audio mix is superior to 95% of the stuff out there.
There are a couple of better, more consistent cover bands on UA-cam (Lexington Lab Band sounds better than the original record half the time) but these guys are fantastic for not sacrificing the playing or sound to pull off the comedy.
These guys are amazing, but there are some really really amazing cover bands on you tube: Sing It Live, the previously mentioned Lexington Lab Band, Leonid and Friends (all adult bands), and I just discovered Low Darts…previously high school and now college kids. Oh yeah and Richie Cestellano and the Band Geeks. UA-cam is my main entertainment source….cover bands are my fav! You have to check out some of these bands. Their sounds are amazing.
Jess McKenna, the brunette singer on the right. She's a comedian, best known for appearing in the show Make Some Noise on Dropout, formerly CollegeHumor. She's absolutely hilarious, and has an incredible voice. It would be great to see her featured in a song at some point
@@BTBHSOHBOY her and zach reino have a podcast called "off book" where they improvise a musical each episode. many guests you will recognize from dropout and other projects.
I couldn't listen to James Taylor for 3 years does my grandmother passed away remember listening to James Taylor in her car with her so thank you for making me happy with this cover
Imagine the luxury of wanting an extra female vocalist, and be able to call on the greatest current musical improv artist (Jess McKenna, though great respect to Zach)
I can't believe I just found your channel. You are an amazing ensemble of talented musicians. I hope you are truly having as much fun producing these videos as it looks like in the final production. I've seen all of you videos now and can't wait for the next release. My only regret is that I don't live anywhere near any of your live performance locations. Thanks for making such incredible music.
I waited tables in a Columbust, OH steak and beer restaurant in the early 90s. Every Friday was a James Taylor cover singer. Saturday was different because they ALSO covered Jimmy Buffet tunes. I could go the rest of my life without hearing Fire and Rain, but I did enjoy this cover. Early onset? Probably not. Also, Kestrin Pantera. Oh, that's it. Let me emphasize for the algorithm. More Kestrin Pantera.
I love this.. but, I also recall you guys in some GREAT movies.. the type we don’t get to see much of anymore at the theater, for some reason!? I’m just saying.. I’d love to see a completely raunchy movie like we use to get.. please! Am I wrong? Bring back the 90’s perverted/pranky/slapstick/ridiculous stuff…
I watch all 4 seasons of The State at least once a year. The 90's was a great decade for tv, movies and music. The State was definitely unique. I loved it. Funniest sketch show ever. I loved the edited opening of the show David did. It was all him. 🤣 The whole cast was fantastic.
And I’m Not gonna ask you to play anything …. But if were it might be something by Alan Parsons …. Say …. Psychobabble… but I’m not. I’m just saying what it would be IF I were to … but I’m not. 😁
This group is genuinely one of the greatest things on UA-cam!!
Sometimes it makes me wonder if I died and this is one of the few decent things in purgatory
It's just pure sugar joy.
True dat

Make Some Noise, Jess!

Best coverband in the world -- with people who have made us laugh since we were young. THIS IS MY HAPPY PLACE!
I love Dan Marino in everything he does. And he has really great hair. Wonderful joy hearing and watching these guys.
Dan Marino I believe is an NFL quarterback!?
@@DavidWainTube True. There's another one who's the lead singer in this. An actor, you may know him from "Party Down".
@@richtapper5094 perhaps you’re referring to Ken Marino?
@@DavidWainTube Indeed. You're correct, sir. I was clearly watching this vid during halftime..
One of my favorite James Taylor songs! Glad to encounter this song on here!!

Ahhhhh!!!! It’s Jess McKenna!!!🎉
Thank you! I knew I recognized that face/voice, but it wasn't clicking.
I didn't think it was possible to play something smoother than James Taylor did. I was wrong.
Koko Krell Krell Krell Krell would be proud.
"Is it horny in here, or am I just trumpet?" - YES!! A Dad Jam Band that tells Dad Jokes. More, please!
Well, canonically horny Jess McKenna is there, so....

I have the biggest smile on my face every time I watch you guys play 😁 thank you guys for bringing the happy 🤗
sweet Teddy on the acoustic bass !!
David Wain Double Denim Short shorts DLC unlocked
We need a Blues Brothers cover. Everybody Needs Somebody To Love. Let's get some Jake and Elwood mojo going.
I LOVE BANDS LIKE THIS!!! I WISH I CAN SEE YOU LIVE OR HAVE YOU AT MY PARTIES!!!

I thought I had a great imagination, but David in those cutoffs… almost more than I can bear! 👍🏻
WHAT? Ken Marino in a dad band??? 😮😊❤
Yes that’s correct!

I'm Your Boogie Man - KC and the Sunshine Band
We have any North Dakota people in here? If there is, we need a good show to warm us up in the winter...
You guys are great.
Kestrin Pantera is my dream girl.
Came to this channel because of Ken and David (woo, Cleveland)... stayed for the multi talented Kestrin
Another Winner! You are hitting your stride. Great performance!
This band rules
Great job.
Wahoo a new one!!!
Had to grab the telecaster on this one kudos that was a serious jam
I love me a good cover band. And you guys are amazing!!! ❤
Hey, Dave finally found a sponsor for (non-cymbal) percussion equipment!
Thank you for making me smile. Awesome version
Dad Madness! Dig it.
27 seconds in and I see dude's sweet acoustic Quatro. Damn,I like this band.
I KNOW that you can do some Seger, and I can't wait until you do.
FIRE LAKE?
@DavidWainTube OOOH YES! That's a beautiful song!
Amazing rendition ❤
Oh my goodness, this was so good!
The Horns are on point!!
Still want to hear Your rendition of 25 or 6 to 4.
Absolutely amazing!!
Top notch
That microphone at the end made me literally lol ... and I don't do that often.
This just as good as the Taco Mailman sketch
David finally scored that endorsement deal.
Halloween is coming - maybe "Bat out of Hell" or "Dead Man's Party" or "Werewolves of London" or one of the many other spooky classics?
Every time I hear this song, I immediately think of American Pie.
Best covers take a song somewhere new. This is a good example of that.
Also, more Jess!
The double denim with jean shorts(jorts) is the best
The JORTS! ❤😂
I use Promark! Also most probably the most professional ad read ever. Check out the new Roland VAD drums.
Can’t afford!
Hell yeah guys!!! This is Awesome!! Please do Centerfield or Freeze Frame.
'What's with the Canadian tuxedo?' Holla Rod Farva.
Great stuff!
Would be pretty dope to see this crew do their version of Meatloaf's 'Paradise By the Dashboard Light.'
I like to see you all do ELO’s Evil Woman or Sweet Talkin Woman. More Billy Joel to.
SULTANS OF SWINGGGGGG
Jess McKenna is so cool ❤
For the love of G-d, come to Vegas.
Nice Canadian Tuxedos!
How are you guys not on Spotify!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need this on my playlist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome! Please do some Huey Lewis and the News!
So great. Ken I love the way you work the vocals and add little vocal soulful embellishments and hip ad libbing
Next: "Love is Like Oxygen" by Sweet, please
It pains me that not a single person has pointed out that this is a Marvin Gaye song
There are literally dozens of us
An even cooler thing to do with this version of the song would be to mash it up with Minute By Minute.
I did not see this coming.
❤
Suspicious Minds by Elvis. That’s a song you should do.
If I won the lottery I would pay Jessica McKenna to come over to my house and just sing a bunch of songs with me. That's it.
Hi Jess!
Ooh. Is that an acoustic bass? Nice.
How about doing "The Cowboy Song" by Thin Lizzy?
Love a good horn section! What make/model trumpet is Jordan Katz using?
B&S Challenger II - Phil Cobb Model, but recently he switched to a 70’s Getzen Eterna, Doc Severinsen (the model that bears his trumpet idol’s name.)
When will you do “at this moment” by Billy Vera and the Beaters?
Leaning a little to hard into the Dad jokes. LOL
I need to see Ken tackle Meat Loaf.
He does every night!

A group of middle aged dads and they haven't touched Desperadoes Under The Eaves yet? C'mon boys, get some Warren going!
Are you gonna shoot a video with the garage door open like in the billy joel song...like the open feel ...
on it
I can feel the Marvin Gaye and the James Taylor vibe.
Man, I had to doubletake. For a moment I thought Chef John and Luxxury were part of the band...
Just a thought…
“Dog and Butterfly”
Heart
or
“Barracuda”
Owner of a Lonely Heart maybe.
What's double denim? I think you mean Canadian Tuxedo.
Mic drop was 🧑🍳💋 (It's ok, it happens sometimes to everyone)
We love JT in this house and would love to see the band cover Steamroller Blues.
James Taylor was the first artist signed by the Beatles record label (Apple).
I'm looking for drumsticks off Earth. Any recommendations?
P.S. Send air. I am dying.
Try Betelgeuse V they have several stores with discounts on cheap sticks.

Nothing can touch James Taylor's original, of course, but that was fun.
Does that tuba get any play time?
Not yet… It was actually my dad’s- he played it in high school and again in his 70s and 80s.
@@DavidWainTube wow thats so cool! thanks for the reply
The trumpet solo audio doesn't match what the horn player is doing with their fingers. Is the audio not recorded live?

How sweet it is to be in love by you is grammatically incorrect
Why would he wear those shorts?
Because denim
Also, because if he wasn’t wearing them, it would be very chilly
Not enough piano in the mix. Good over all, though.
Sorry, but David needs to retire the Daisy Dukes
The drummer is the real star. The actor just cannot stop mugging. Kind of embarrassing (do like his singing).
