  • KOZAK SIROMAHA - ГУЛЯЛИ
Я душа в тілі людини, я не тіло, я особистість, я в Україні, не на Україні.
Бо це сонячна радість. Я відчуваю її, пізнаю, знаю, ціную, навчаю. Любов віддаю щиро.
    #ukraine #cossacks #reaction

The instrument is called Fisgarmonia, basically a portable pump organ. In general the cossacks philosophy, culture and warfare was centred around Steppes - which are basically vast flat land areas in Ukraine, not a desert. Also, the pivotal aspect of the cossack is a freedom in the full sense of that word. This is because Cossack phenomenon originated from kripaky (slaves) who escaped from their masters and formed a community what later became a formidable military force. So in essence the main idea can be summed up as - freedom, vast steppes, and all or nothing daring attitude.

One of the reasons I watch your channel. It is to look at our culture from a different point of view. When you noticed his posture, I realized that I had never paid attention to it. But if you look closely at our old vreseks where music is depicted. This is a classic pose for them.
I see it in various images from different times where, music is played on the bandura, or wheeled lyre or something else.
    This is harmonium

@@UNCLEMOMO We thank you. Please ask anything that interests you. And we will search and find answers together. You have a different view and it captures everything that is permanent and familiar to us. But it is very interesting to ask unexpectedly simple questions about things that are familiar to Ukrainians, but there is always something deep behind it that we sometimes do not know

@@UNCLEMOMO once my child asked me why ice is so slippery. And this stumped me. Because I could not answer such a simple question. We sat together at a physics textbook and learned that water under pressure melts and forms a thin layer on which the foot slides. You are like my child now, which forces me to explore my own culture with you

Така велика любов козака до Свого Краю не може сама горіти , вона його Коханій дівчині передається , хоч і Бог дав кожній людині життя і долю, та в людини вибір Вкрали , мусить вона долі своїй підкоритися

Amongst cossacs there was a group called Kobzars - bards, often wounded cossac veterans that traveled around Ukraine visiting villages and towns and sang stories about Cossacs, about love, bravery, freedom and Independence. They reminded an inslaved mostly illiterate people that once they were free and they had a country they could call their own. They sang about free men that escape slavery and travel down the river Dnipro to the place beyond the rapids where the river splits into two and formes the island of Khortytsia where a „free men” meaning of tbe word cossa, live according to their own rules as free men and do not bend to the will kings, and sultans.
The Kobzars also sang about the fight for freedom and independence that will inevitably one day come.
In other words the Kobzars made a connection between the past rooted in Kyiv Rus, about the presenent and the prospekt of escaping bondage and fighting for freedom and independence and about the Future of a free people that live in a independent sovereign country.
No wonder the father of Ukrainian nation poet and painter - Taras Shevchenko who himself was born a slave dedicated his life to the preservation of Ukrainian culture and history and adopted the pseudonim Kobzar linking the past, present and future of Ukraine.
As a side note in many coubtries cossacs where known for their bravery, fearlessness that was often described as borderline wreklesness.
Kossacs almost always fought tobthe death and rearly were captured. This was a concienvious decision as they knew that their social status mentvthatvtheybwill be tortured and killed in the most horrific way inaginable to scare other slaves from persuing this path. The most popular way to kill cossacs was inpalement while still alive. This was a painful and grousome death that could last for many weaks and caused incredible pain. OMON of the videos you reviews There is a scene where cossacs find an inpalement cossac that is still alive who askes them to end his suffering.
This fate made cossacs fight to the very end no matter what the chances of winning were. To maximise their chances of survival they trained heard and because most of them could not afford expencive armour they manly relied on physical endurence, agility and spead.
Every cossac song is about love for freedom, liberty, his girl, his family, his coubtrymen and for his country.

    Dear Maurice, 😍thank you!
Regarding an indian tradition of sitting posission.
I think, that is because allusion to one of the most legendary even person from fairytail - Kozak Mamay. On many pictures Kozak Mamay is a musicion, who is playing and singing or telling histories. And he is always siting in that position. That is like on icons: composition must be the same, but situation around could be changed. The main elements: musician instument (often The kobza) - symbol of the national soul; horse - symbol of bravity and militarity; oak - symbol of the strength of lineage; also wineskin and cup. All these symbols of life and death of kozak. But the main symbol was this very position of the kozak.
p.s. kozaks were philosophers, warriors and wanderers, and they took from the World the best traditions, so they could take from Persian, Eastern or Scythian cultures this tradition of meditation. But actually, they did "thinking smoking pipe". So, you are right!
❤might be you would listen to that song in two different performances. And you could also notice, that first line in this song, can be with a different sounds and meanings.

    Harmonium, a hand-pumped organ.
This is harmonium from India, as we brought a lot of them in Ukraine in Hare Krishna temples.
Our slavic culture take it's roots in vedic culture, which a lot of people follow in Ukraine.
I'm following Hare Krishna spiritual practice as well as my god brother Kozak Syromaha.
Kanthimala (3rows) at his neck means that he has a Guru and make spiritual practice every day. Chanting Holy Names of God for 2 hours a day (16 rounds on beeds).
We also sing and dance in our 🛕 something like that)) ua-cam.com/video/ReRY31VrT9U/v-deo.html

    The closest translation is:
Into the world rose up the Kozaks
    Marching out there at midnight,
Cried out her eyes did sweet dear little girl (in the meaning of beloved woman)
    Her bright hazel eyes.
Don't cry, don't cry sweet dear little girl (in the meaning of beloved woman),
    Don't cry, don't you worry
And as for your, dear beloved
Do say a prayer to God!
Sits the moon above the mountain,
    For there is no sun...
There a mother on the road sends
    Her dear son off weeping.
Fare well dear one Oh my dear son,
    And you do not tarry,
And do in a month of four weeks
    You return home safely!
Oh don't cry, don't you all worry,
    Don't fall into dispair:
    Played out my raven horse
    Do expect us to return!
Into the world rose up the Kozaks
    March out there at midnight,
Cried out her eyes did little little girl (in the meaning of beloved woman)
    Her bright hazel eyes.
