Hey, buddy! Off topic, but was watching your FB story the other day...looked like you went on a wild trip! Big parties, cameras, beautiful views, ladies spraying champagne. I can't wait to make it out there and introduce my fiance to you!
We agree! It was hard to leave. On reflection, I wish we would have gotten a long term rental there, and used it as a base while traveling the rest of the country. Thank you kindly for following along and showing support!
Wow what a fantastic video. My main question would be how people reacted to your dogs being off leash on the promenade annd the beach. Complaints? Overall how dog friendly did you find the area? My wife and I have been to Fethiye a bunch of times and are considering moving there, we're just not exactly sure how that would work out with our dog. I've love to hear some of your experiences with your two off leash dogs. Also how hard was it to find a rental willing to allow two dogs in their apartment. Man I'd absolutely love running around on the beach with my dog, watching your video made me wish we were there right now.
No complaints in Fethiye. It helps that our dogs are extremely well trained...so, to the unknowing eye, they look like they are running wild. But, still, folks were very kind there. However, we found that was not the case everywhere. Downtown Antalya, shewweee. We never have them off the leash in the city any way. Yet, stilll, even on a leash and people give us grief. We got a month rental the first month. The second month, we lived outside, camping. So, we didn't get to gain a lot of experience with rentals allowing dogs or not. Wish I could help more.
@@TheNelsonsGo Appreciate the feedback. Our dog is off leash as well but she is a 135lbs monster and the worry is people freaking out lol My guess is dogs trained well enough to be off leash is a rarity in Turkey.
I am 35 years old, I was born in Fethiye and lived here all my life. Based on my impressions, I can easily say that the expatriates in Fethiye, especially the British, Russians and Ukrainians, see themselves as superior class people than the local people and avoid friendship and communication with them as much as possible.
I will be in Oludenise next week coming from Australia traveling on my own, mainly to go paragliding but to have a look around. Is there anywhere you can get gluten-free bread or sourdough? When I go on trips I usually cook my own food so its looks good as lots of free fruit and vegetables around. Coming from Melbourne we are rather obsessed with good coffee love my cappuccino, any suggestions?
You will have an epic time! Whatttt a stunning place to paraglide. Congrats on planning such a great adventure. Yes, and there is an outdoor market twice a week! Very cheap and beautiful options! Coffee whise, Gloria Jeans is a local favorite and for good reason. Plus, in the middle of old town, toward the hillside more than the water, you will find some great local coffee spots! Thanks for stopping in and leaving a thoughtful comment. I hope you keep following along. We are posting a new video covering the first part of a hike we took from Fethiye to Oludeniz.
@Christopher Miller, If it's your first time going you're going to be blown away. Anyone who visits has that moment where they're thinking "Can I move here." lol
Is the internet (mobile as well as wifi) in Fethiye fast and stable, so that it is possible to do videocalls without any issues? Is there a kind of coworking culture in Fethiye (coworking hostels, coworking spaces, cafes, etc.)? Would be great if you could help me with this:-)
The internet is very much dependent on your accommodations or particular cafe. For us, basic work matters such as video calls were never an issue. What was an issue, was uploading our videos in any decent amount of time. Coworking space exists, but I wouldn't say it is a vibrant place for it. It is very holiday goer centric. Not exactly a nomad spot for long term living. To be clear, it is worth hanging around long term. However, it isn't what is catered to in the big picture.
So amazing to get to see your journey and can't wait to see more ❤️
Thank you kindly for the support! We will certainly keep the videos coming for the foreseeable future =)
There will certainly be more to come! Thanks for following along =)
