I miss tapes and CDs. These albums had a much longer shelf life. You really owned it and re-listened to it. Now with streaming all releases are so fleeting and forgotten in short time. I also miss the paper inserts. I'd sit and read about who wrote and produced the songs and often it would even have the lyrics.
Cassettes......yeeeeeh....content for them olde folks like me ... ❤ . I still have my infamous collection of mixtapes from friends and ex-crushes filled with great nostalgic songs, all carefully arranged for drama, romance and teenage rebellion 😂😂😂. PS: Shout out to all the desperate ones who also waited in front of their radios to record THAT ONE song almost vandalizing the room because THAT ONE song was cut off by a stupid advertisement for a local furniture store.... 🎉 🤯
This was sooooo cosy and gave me vintage vibes for days. I used to live taping off the radio and trying to avoid the DJ chatting over the song. Highlights of my tape collection were Smash Hits Summer 1997 collection, Michael Jackson's Dangerous and The Prodigy's Fat of the Land. More dubiously I also owned PJ and Duncan's Psyche album. 😂😅 Love these music collection videos. Music is life.
In the future when all the hip kids will be using some new twisted way to save music, I'll be sure to show this to them. Going to be legendary, keep up the good work SRP.
SRP, I love these collection uploads. Your taste in music, books, and movies is impressive. I never would’ve thought that anyone listened to “Ruff Endz” in the UK. I love it! 😂
Damn son, this collection really takes me back. What a time to be alive! Nice to see My Best Friend's Exorcism sneaking into the frame there too. Always great to take a tour through your media archives!
I saw you have 250k subs now and it blew my mind! But at the same time, with your quality content I’m not surprised at all! I’ve been watching for a long time :)
Can just tell SRP would absolutely smash it on Pointless. Would love to have you on a pub quiz team. 😂 Also, they reckon cassettes are having a resurgence. Physical media will never go out of style!
It's so interesting to me seeing cassettes for singles, as my family only had full albums when I was growing up and I'm too young to have made a collection of my own. Thanks for the interesting, and as always relaxing video.
Oh yes please. This waa a complete joy from the first moment until the last. I had International Velvet on tape too. Underrated band, Catatonia. Pretty sure i recosgnised the WWF case as well. My little sister had that one. The waves of nostalgia here were so lovely. Brilliant stuff.
@@SRPASMR had this exact conversation very recently! Yes, if I told 12 year old me every song I've ever loved would one day fit into my pocket, I'd have blown her mind! I do miss having to earn my access to music though. The effort of getting on a bus to go to a record shop on release date and get your own copy was such a thrill. Making mix tapes was a pure act of love too. Happy memories
I grew up with cassettes and cds, but to this day I still think vinyl is the best way to listen to music. Something about the sound of a record player just hits different. I have a ton of records and I've been told I have a few pretty rare ones too which is cool to know. Although I do love a good ol' fashioned mix tape ❤
Not sure why, but these collection videos are always my favorites of yours! Maybe once you've gone through all of your own collections, you can give little reviews of those of your relatives and close friends?
Love the vid SRP. It’s cool to learn more about you and the music you listen to. Also this vid put me to sleep so fast! When I opened my eyes to turn off my iPad it was morning. Thank you!
Funnily enough we never had music cassettes when I was a kid (born in 94) because my parents and us mostly owned CDs. But I had a bunch of cassettes with audiobooks on it. Up until I was 15 or so. I still remember having to fix them with a pencil when the tape got caught in the cassette player haha
They just reissued three ft high and rising on tape vinyl etc for the 30 years!!! Highly recommend grabbing 🔥 they reissued allllll the De La Soul discography!
Growing up cassettes were all we had. I still have few kicking around, including Da Lenchmobs "Guerrilas in the Mist" which I found in a old moving box like 6 months ago. Quite the album I must say, Ice Cube produced and featured on most of the tracks.
I have a pile of cassettes myself, mostly comprised of Gordon Lightfoot. I’ve been a fan of his for years despite only being 17. Good music, and especially interesting technology.
You little legend you....im impressed you know king Gord 😉 im sure your aware that Elvis,Bob Dylan and Johnny cash all looked up to Mr Lightfoot....that says it all ps if you could read my mind probably my favorite song ever!
The fact that I still use cassettes and cds as my main source of music and you calling it retro is hilarious to me. I’m not even old but I love my cassettes to bits, you seemingly have a pretty cool collection!
One of the few vids that woke me up more than relaxed on the first viewing. Have to see all music tracks. Especially those that were not American main stream. Have some tracks to look up
I absolutely love your collections, I’m definitely taking recommendation from this. Thank you very much for the videos. Wishing you the best from Eorzea
My fave songs from your black case: Killing Me Softly by The Fugees Macarena by Los Del Rio Here Comes the Hotstepper by Ini Kamoze Three Lions '98 by Lightning Seeds feat. Baddeil & Skinner Men in Black by Will Smith
I was born in 2001 and was familiar with cassettes growing up mostly because of Transformers with Soundwave's henchmen transforming into them. Guess it shows how old I am mentally despite being young, also knew alot about VHS tapes as well.
This is awesome! I collect cassette tapes and 8 tracks, vinyls and reel to reels this is close to home to me!! Keep Rockin man love your channel! I’m more of a rocker and blues fan but I love most music…besides disco😅😂😂
Found your channel through a quick search “ASMR CD” and love your accent and soft speaking voice! Not a fan of most of the music you have here but as a collector myself I can’t help but enjoy. Until you pulled out that Limp Bizkit cassingle 🤤
super super cool, i got a new cassette handheld player from a company named "We Are Rewind" its been so fun traveling back in time and making my own mixtapes!
Wow, I had no idea that "singles" cassettes even existed. Maybe they just weren't a thing here in Sweden. I bought all my singles on 7" vinyl. Or 12" Maxis. Anyways. Nice collection video 🙂
Definitely one of your best videos... but I'm tempted to say this every time you release a new one. Was more surprised by Mariah Carey than Depeche Mode!
I have trouble remembering people’s names 10 seconds after they introduced themselves and SRP confidently recalls a whole football team‘s worth of names from the 90s. ⚽️
On mj's Dangerous album Macauley Culkin is in the artwork. Think he's sat on a ride wearing a blue top with M on it .... cant believe I remembered that lol
There was nothing better than buying a new cassette or CD and laying on the bed just listening. I was always so excited when the lyrics were included.
Same here.
Same, a well designed Booklet with lyrics is a thing that I miss a lot when it comes to mp3s and streaming...
I used to love the CD booklets

Oh my God, we're old!!
(43 next week!)
The 90s were the best music.
Thanks for the tingly trip down memory lane ❤️
I love that we’re getting to know more about you with videos like these
Glad you like 😊
i literally don’t watch any other asmr channels anymore. your content is fabulous good sir
Thanks my friend
The thought of srp tearing it up in a club absolutely makes my whole month

I remember the days 😂
Radio mix tapes were so fun for that very reason. Was like catching a moment.
I remember recording off the radio and the DJ usually ruined either the intro or the ending of the song. Tough times😂
sounds like fun ❤
I love your name
This was sooooo cosy and gave me vintage vibes for days. I used to live taping off the radio and trying to avoid the DJ chatting over the song. Yes big music fan too.
I used to hate them the dj interrupted my recording or ended the song too soon.
This was nostalgic for me, some real classics!!! Thanks SRP you've done it again 😴
😊🤝🏼
In the future when all the hip kids will be using some new twisted way to save music, I'll be sure to show this to them.

That is today, actually it's 10 years ago
I appreciate these videos cause we can go back in time and relive some classics as well as enjoy quality asmr!! Well done, your my favorite asmrtist

Absolutely love the collection videos.
So relaxing and a nice trip down memory lane. I'm glad I was alive for cassettes and VHS lol
Yo we got the same name
Maybe I’ll do a VHS collection next
That was a total blast from the past! I have several of those tunes myself. Great video!
And yes: Who Is It is one of MJ's best tracks.

Excellent. Amazing how you can just search these titles so easily on Spotify and things like that. Access to what we want is crazy quick now.

That squeeking sound when you open the hingy plastic casette case 😀 What a flashback! ❤
ASMR value: exquisite (as usually)! 😉
Thank you my good friend.

Enjoyed every minute! Those plastic cases make great sounds. Like CD cases! And as always, your voice! ❤
Thank you 😊
These collection vids are the best. Let's see the retro toys next!
I have McDonald’s toys somewhere
The soft hard acrylic plasticky sounds was lovely coupled with your voice. Nice job!!
My parents still have a bunch! I used to have a Fisher price cassette player and had lullabies on cassette ❤ I'm 27 now
The de la soul Cassette is absolutely epic !!!!!
✌🏼
Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I remember mixtapes from my middle school days. Enjoyed as always! 💜
Jakkatta! Modjo! Catatonia! Fugees! Limp Bizkit! Great nostalgia. Lovely collection.
😁 some good times and tunes to go with them

Michael Jackson “Dangerous” was my first ever cassette as a little boy. I turn 40 in May. This brought back memories. ❤

Love the music collections you do man! 🙌
Cheers
amazing collection SRP, amazing!!
Glad you like
Great relaxing vid. I love digging out the old cassettes. I’ve got the original Raekwon purple tape.
Wow
I liked this but was dying for more case sounds. Closing cassette cases is so nice ❤
Sorry. Very paranoid over harsh sounds
@@SRPASMRunderstandable 😊
"Who is it", and "Give into me" are definitely two of my favorite songs by MJ
It’s always a good day when you upload!!!🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵

Yeahhhhh bwoooyyy. Great vid, looking forward to a vid about your other books in your collection also
I’ll try
I had a Kid N Play "House Party" cassette that I played till the tape ripped. 2 sides, multiple songs.
One of the few vids that woke me up more than relaxed on the first viewing. Have to see all music tracks. Especially those that were not American main stream. Have some tracks to look up
What a tinglefest again. Amazing.
Thank you 😊

Dangerous gotta be the best out of you collection. *edit (great asmr btw)
MJ was something else
Wow! Super nostalgic for me great video.
Huge fan of your collection videos! 🤙🏻🍻 your making me wish I kept all this stuff! 😆
Sorry about that 😝

I wasn't expecting that "ciao" at the end 😸
Not sure where that came from
Who else is now picturing SRP getting bare wavey pon da club to Boom Boom Boom back in the day?💣 🪩 🔊
No stranger to the dance floor
I absolutely love your voice and that beautiful british accent. I swear you could even read the phonebook to me and i would enjoy it ❤

i love your videos, once i hear ur voice it makes my body feel weak 😆 simply the best. thank u for this one.
You’re very welcome
3 ft high❤❤❤
Never really heard an old british 90s dance fan talk like this 😅
Ooooh I've never seen a sleeve case. So much nice than those plastic ones where I could never get the cassette back in correctly
i stopped using/buying tape around 1998, but i didn't know they kept on doing them until the 2000's with those cardbord sleeve design
Awesome. Love physical media. I think the magnetic tape eventually wears off on these cassettes but not sure. Hopefully they still play. 📼
Would love to try them out once again
super super cool, i got a new cassette handheld player from a company named "We Are Rewind" its been so fun traveling back in time and making my own mixtapes!
Amazing. I want a VHS player again
Simply divine

/weeping over that Limp Bizkit cassette. 🥺😍 Also- don't shade Mariah Carey like that.
Ultra tingles my oh myyyyy
