This is the code I was raised by. Good humans do NOT sit back and watch evil prey on innocent people. A popular slogan these days is see something, say something. But we live by see something, do something!!!! No man or woman I associate with would ever sit back and watch someone bully someone else and not stop it no matter the cost. "The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."

Hardy just won Songwriter of the year award. Lainey just won best single and best New artist this year at the CMA Awards. Watch them perform this from last week at CMA Awards. Truck onstage. It was awesome. I'm a domestic violence survivor. This song stirs up feelings and memories from folks who lived through it. I thank Hardy for bringing such a hard, dark subject to light. Thank you for your reaction. Blessings to you always. 🙏
@@firefighterchick thank you for your kind words. I don't know you if you experienced DV, and pray 🙏 you haven't and never will. If you have, I hope your safe now. This song has brought up alot of feelings, opinions, which is good to discuss to get feelings out. But you can definitely tell the difference between the DV survivors and the ones who have never faced it. We survivors are jaded and can't help it. I don't condone "justice " outside realm of the law, but I understand it. Doesn't make it right at all, but I understand there are ALOT of circumstances to explain it being triggered. PTSD from childhood being a BIG one. Just wish folks would stop to wonder, question, the circumstances before making black and white decisions. Very little about life is in black and white. Most of it is gray. And we must do our best to find our way, everyday. Sometimes, we pick the wrong road. I know I did. I pray for all survivors, but I pray even harder for the ones who are still lost. May God help them find their way to safety. Again, God bless you for your kind words. It means more than you'll ever know.
@Robin Hatcher I have not experienced it myself. I know survivors, my mom was also one as well. I completely agree I'm not saying what happened in the video is the right path but I can understand it at the same time. DV attacks come in many forms, physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, or all of the above. It tears at every aspect of that person's being. Love to you and glad you're safe and happy now.
So glad you got out of that hell you were in @Robin Hatcher A lot of people that have never been in that situation think that Hardy's actions come off as a little extreme or over the top. What they don't realize is the long term pain and hell an abusive person can put a woman through. I hope that there is a special corner in the hottest depths of hell for any man that puts his hands on a woman or child or an animal in any way to hurt them. If that means I am evil too then so be it but scum like that don't deserve to breathe the same air we do. PERIOD
I've watched a lot of people react to this song, and it's fascinating... If it's a rural Southerner, they know *exactly* where this is going as soon as they see her face, and they're almost always on board with it. Northerners and city folk, not so much. I love that he doesn't get away with it, mind you, but still says it's worth it. And their voices are amazing.
If you watch the mannerisms of the character Hardy is playing in this video, especially his hand going to his chest when he picks her up in the rain, it becomes obvious that he's either seen a friend or relative go through this or lost a friend or relative to domestic violence which explain why he reacts the way he does. Or at least that's the backstory my brain came up with.
first in the country "wait in the truck" usually means one of two things either imma run in and grab a gallon on milk brb or it means shits gonna be ugly stay out. but lets talk about the fact when he popped old dude in the back of the head he took one of HIS cigarettes and sat on the hood and waited on the cops. thats a boss move
I’ve watched all the reactions to this song cause I enjoy it but I was dead when you said “maybe I do have room” cause that was my same thought when I saw it 😂😂
"Wait in the truck" is universal in that situation. We all know that or "Baby, go on back inside now." Means that some woman beater is gonna at the least get a beat down. 🤷♀️
The first time I heard this song was half way through. Thought it was a dad or brother, then figured out it was a stranger, took the story to a whole other level.
Love me some Hardy. Seen him live twice. A fun party. He has been a songwriter for a few years. Writing tons of hits for Morgan Wallen, Blake Shelton, Florida Georgia Line, Cole Swindell.... More Hardy: Sold Out, The mockingbird and the crow, Give heaven some hell, Rednecker, A rock, He went to Jared, Jack, Boots, Truck bed (listen to boots before truck bed)
This song makes me feel all types of ways ... very emotional. I'll also throw my vote in for The Mockingbird and The Crow next, which has a bit of a surprise twist in the middle. His new album is half country, half rock and there's a bit of defiance in there for people trying to fit him in a box. Or try Give Heaven Some Hell. I'm slow to the party because I don't listen much to the newer country, but I am fast falling in love with Hardy's artistry.

Thank you, great reaction! I subscribed, loves and peace to you! Truth is, the guy would have done it again, and again. He'd just met her on the street, but this must have been that 'one more thing' that made him say not today Dude. IMO he ultimately saved her life. They get back out, defy no contact orders and there ya go. The girl winds up dead. *The dude played F around and find out one too many times!* Plus the acting in this...he beat on that door with PURPOSE! I also love the no regrets look on his face at the end when she says Thank you. No regrets. He said it was worth the price. The dude likely would have gone too far and killed her eventually.
The most dangerous time for a woman in a domestic violence situation is when she tries to leave. I was in an abusive marriage, but we had a son together so I tried to make it work. (He wasn’t abusive to our son.) I remember showing my doctor a bruise on my arm the size of a softball and asking her if I should leave. She didn’t really respond. I remember later taking the 9 mm we had in our headboard & sitting in the bathroom in the middle of the night debating whether to put it to my head or his. At that point, I realized I had to leave, even though he had told me he would put a bullet in me and anyone who tried to help me leave. The neighbor tipped him off that I was going to try and leave. He took our son from me at gunpoint, then disappeared for several hours. The police criticized me for not stopping him (even though he had a gun) and not leaving him earlier. I had a good job, was educated and taught to be independent. But he had isolated me from friends and had eroded my self esteem to the point that I didn’t feel I was worthy of anything better. I was let down by my family, the medical system, law enforcement and the “justice” system that was supposed to protect me. I am not advocating that anyone take justice into their own hands. The National Domestic Violence Hotline # is 800-799-7233. If you know someone in this situation, please encourage them to call. If you are in a similar situation, I want you to know that you are worthy and that you do have the strength to ask for help. It can mean the difference between being a domestic violence victim or a domestic violence survivor. 💕

Amazing work. One of the best storytellers of all time. It is almost like the selfless act Jesus did for all humanity. I don't encourage killing, but that abuser would have killed this man. She said "whiskey scars I hid". I take from that that she suffered for some time and could not escape that abuser. Perhaps the trucker witnessed a loved one going through something similar in the past and felt compelled to act. Obviously the condition of the woman stirred him to action. This is a song to make you think and feel. Although it goes a bit over the top in its analogy, perhaps that was necessary to get the point across. This man shows his concern with his actions. He was willing to do 5+ years to right a wrong. Many victims never get justice through the courts. While vigilante justice isn't to be encouraged, in this case it brought the point across through artistic representation. Great reaction. 🇨🇦🔥🔥🔥🥇💖

Hardy wrote this song to bring awareness to domestic violence. If I’m not all sales to this single goes to his charity
The most dangerous time for a woman in a domestic violence situation is when she tries to leave.

Some other good Hardy songs are "A Rock", "Give Heaven Some Hell", "the mockingbird & THE CROW", "JACK" and "SOLD OUT". Some good Lainey Wilson are "Live Off", "Things a Man Ought to Know", "LA" and "Rolling Stone".
All great songs that you should check out for sure.
