How to Classify Volcanoes

This video describes the features geologists use to classify common types of volcanoes. We compare and contrast the features of two types of large volcanoes - shield volcanoes and composite volcanoes. One of these types produces structures that can be larger than Mount Everest while the other represent the majority of dangerous active volcanoes on Earth.We also explain that two other types of smaller volcanic landforms are relatively common and often form in association with their larger brethren. I appreciate the information. I'm not a geologist, I'm a physical anthropologist, and I am on a tear to learn all about plate tectonics, and the world of volcanoes. The recent activity in Hawai'i, particularly the East Rift Zone, and Kalapana Gardens area, has caught my attention and am fascinated at the way these things work. However, you are moving a bit too fast for soaking in all the terminology, unless one backs up or stops the video. If you had slowed down a little bit more, the presentation would have been excellent. Just a suggestion.
