😁This auction was great, and I love your attitude about getting what you get and be surprised with the piece of gold at the bottom. Sometimes anyway. ❤👍We have lived and brought up 3 kids, in this house for the last 44 years. I wonder what our home would look like if it was all boxed up on our huge back yard?🤔🤨 Amazing! Thank you for bringing this fun video to us Renee😘 I love your energy also, and you seem like a friend to me.
A highly interesting bidding adventure, thanks for taking us along ! 👍 Did I see some old Hummel figurines in one or two of these boxes ?! Seems that the organizers of this event were pretty sure that it would be a dry and sunny day, otherwise... 🌧. 5:09 Those little hedgehogs could be from the "Mecki" series, created by Bros. Diehl and extremely popular over here especially in the 1950s and 1960s. Lucky you, your purchases were an absolute bargain, e.g. the old Christmas and Valentine greeting cards, and, not to forget, the 1939 New York World´s Fair souvenir ! 👌 Well deserved. Hope you have a great Thursday ! Holiday over here (Ascension of Christ, some folks call it "Father´s Day"), and still a lot of work to be done. Greets from GER, U.
There were Hummels & Hummel imposters 😆 Hummel figurines can still do well at auctions here, especially if there is a collector in the crowd. No one in my family got into the Hummel rage…. My one aunt loved Precious Moments & still has a few that she really loves, but she has sold off her collection throughout the years. I think you are right on the hedgehogs! I’ve seen them before at cleanouts, but never remember their name. Rain coming in here, hoping that the forecast for Sunday changes into sun! We need good flea market weather!
hey Miss Moose, after watching your video, old Buzz has a hankering for some "Wildwood By the Sea" salt water taffy.... I'm going to throw a fit if I cant get some! haha😁
Wildwood is getting ready to “officially” open for the summer soon! My favorite taffy is probably the peanut butter. The vanilla is pretty good too! I still have to look up the company on the box. Wish it would have been an old Douglass Fudge box - those are hard to find!
Hi Renee. Woo hoo to you at the Auction. I am so happy you got the things you wanted, and at a groovy price. God Bless you sweet Renee. HUGS 🤗. Mari'a. 🤗🤗👍❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎👋👋👋👋🌼🌸🌺
The hardest part of attending an auction with that many boxes is remembering exactly which boxes had something in them that I wanted to bid on. And to make it even harder, we all know that the contents of the boxes could have changed between the time you look at them and the time they get auctioned. But, even with those issues, that looked like a great auction to attend and you got some very nice items at a very good price. Thanks for sharing this fun box auction with us!
Correct & correct! The box that had the World’s Fair souvenir in it had 2 additional items that weren’t in that box when I first looked at it. My guess is someone was looking through a box next to it & laying things down in that box, forgetting to put them back in the original box.
@@PaperandMoose That is very possible. But what also sometimes happens is that people move things around, creating "their box" so they only have to bid on the boxes they created and don't have to deal with extra unwanted items. Many auctioneers do not allow this if they see someone doing it, but with all those boxes it is hard to keep an eye on everything.
@@aprilfool8329 Yes! I've had that happen in an on-site auction in a basement that was just filled with stuff. A person took things from around the basement & pre-made boxes, made their own pile, and then asked to bid on the "pile of junk" in the corner first thing. We didn't even have time to look around to see what had been moved, as they made sure that pile was the first thing up for auction in the basement.
You make my day when I see you out there shopping. All the stuff I would not normally see I see thru your videos. I feel so much joy when I see one of your videos pop up.🌼❤️
Wow, sweetie! Another great video. Im so glad you were able to get those boxes. What treasures they held. I love ya! Stay safe and healthy. ❤️😘💕💕💕🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✌️
Omg Topo Gigio! After you pulled out the doll I had to pause to do more research. My mom is from El Salvador and she grew up watching this cute mouse puppet on TV. Up until now I thought it was a Latin American based show but apparently its originally Italian and has made appearances worldwide!! Learned something new! 😊
Whew - don't leave that World's Fair memento sitting on your couch cushion - someone might be unpleasantly surprised. Was that silver circular thing about 9:55 a compass after all, or maybe a rosary holder? So much wonderful paper - I hope there are some good juicy letters in there with the Valentine's Day cards. That talking pyramid thing is ringing a bell with me but I can't remember what it is. You've got more patience than me to look through all those boxes - though obviously I would have (and do) missed a lot of good things. This was a fun one to watch over your shoulder - there are very few live auctions here anymore - the estate sales are mostly elegant tag sales. In NC the companies are legally required to say whether the sale is for a living or deceased person, I believe. Always wondered why that mattered? Thanks for the video. have a great Thursday & Friday with, hopefully, beautiful weather and more great finds! P.S. Did you talk to the dog? I bring our dog to the FM occasionally here but he's not so good with other dogs (Chihuahua / Pomeranian mix) so limits where I can go! He's a kook - but he's our kook.
Awe, your pup sounds good! I did not pet the dog, though I did say hi to her. The compass thing actually was a makeup holder (I think blush). Oh I know there were a lot of good things missed! Probably some more World’s Fair souvenirs lingering around in a box or two. It would have been easy to buy a whole lot of boxes at $1, $2.50 a piece, but when they are selling over $25 or $40 each, that adds up rather quickly & there’s a nice surprise when waiting for the bill. Hopefully we have another sale like this with lots of boxes! Interesting about your estate sales… wonder what happened that they require that specification? Hope that you have a great Friday - finally the weekend has arrived!
I haven’t been to a sale from this auctioneer in a few years. I was told they have auctioned this way at other auctions. It just takes some time, but they are able to bring in some pretty good money for the client with doing box by box, so that works well for them!
I wish I would have been there with you. I seen a couple vintage metal cars. I would have bid on. Glad you found some paper I know that's your passion. Great video Renee Love you and enjoy your finds!!
I have stopped collecting paper as you know as I sent you all my photos postcards and cabinet cards but looking at the Paper you got here l am twitching ha ha. Vintage cards increase my levels of dopamine xxx greetings from Alison Tracey in Northern Ireland xxx
Just found your channel, I've watched hundreds of ppl buying and going through storage containers, and I've NEVER EVER seen anyone find so much valuable stuff as you have. It makes me WONDER if your buying storage containers at the same place and if so, I'm guessing many rich ppl must be using those storage containers. That makes sense coz I've Never anyone as LUCKY as you with so many storage containers...UNBELIEVABLE 😳 And if you are buying the storage containers at the same place I'd recommend you keep getting the storage containers at the SAME place 😎 Subbed and Gooday from Australia 😇
Ahhh....yet another interesting estate to rummage! Again sooo much stuff...from one estate? I have some Wade items, including a neat representation of Noah's Ark...complete with six sets of animal pairs...I added a pair of fr-gs...and yes...Mr. and Mrs. Noah! My "Big Boy" is a small boy refer. magnet! Those box sets of vintage toys are ones I'd like to win! I see a talking clock...these were for blind folks...it announces the hour and also has an alarm feature. Out here, we have never had estate auctions...these must last the whole day! Nice haul! The mini Trylon and Parasphere looks like it was a snow globe, filled with clear liquid those plastic snow flakes. Did you get the talking clock?
Wow, there was some great stuff at this auction! I am astonished that you can still get such bargains on the box lots, given your proximity to eastern PA and New Jersey. Here in central Ohio there is so much competition that (good) box lots rarely go that cheap. Keep getting the good stuff Renee so we can see it too. Looking forward to an update on your junk journal.
It all depends on who is at the auction/what type of crowd. Some days prices are better than others & then there are days where you can’t touch anything because prices are so high. Keeps you on your toes, that’s for sure!
What GREAT treasures you picked up! I picked up some ephemera today and thought of you. They are repros of postcards that were made during Norway's campaign to be free of the Kalmar Union and the success in 1905. The 17th mai is next week (Norway's version of 4th July). So, they celebrate their constitution day from 1814, , but their true independence came on the 7 June in 1905 when they dared to declare independence from Sweden. But they don't celebrate that day. There are so many historic days to mark the anniversary of here in Europe. I guess they need to pick and choose.
The salt water taffy box is Sagel's from Wildwood boardwalk long ago. And you don't have to break the bank!!! You slide a butter knife into the slot and the coins will slide out one by one--with a little jiggling!!!
Looks like another day in the WIN column. I too, always enjoy your positivity. Thank you Renee. Why do I get the feeling that some of today’s treasures will be in an upcoming video?
Wow! You got some great stuff!!!! Renee' I have a question, this weekend (for Mother's Day) my daughter and her boyfriend are taking me to a flea market of my choice, I want to go to Columbus as I haven't been there in forever. So my questions are which day is the best and do you think I will find some good deals? I like pretty much the same things you do. Thanks and again you got some great auction finds!
I have not been to Columbus on a Saturday, so can’t provide much help on what the market will be like on that day. I have gone Sundays & while the Amish market is not open on Sundays (I love their baked goods!), the rest of the market is pretty busy that day with vendors selling everything from new to old. Just check the weather as well, that might also determine which day would be better for you to go.
My Grandmother had a glass liberty bell bank and I would pass the time sliding the coins carefully out with a butter knife abd counting them and putting them back in. You dont have to smash it ❤
It was in the Lehigh Valley. The Chilly Willy set was actually somewhat “rare”. They usually sell for around $60. The box sold for, if my memory is correct, $35.

Have you never heard of inserting a bread and butter knife into the slot of the bank and shaking to get the coins out?
Can't say that I have ever done that. Banks that I've had in the past usually have the stopper in the bottom to remove the coins.
Where do you sell your items?
What do you do with all the old paper?
