Look at the parallels of Jeff Hardy, a huge Sting fan finally getting to work with him, and straightedge Darby Allin, who was just kinda paired up with Sting and great chemistry happened... Jeff made it no secret how embarrassed he was that he ruined his childhood dream. Forget wrestling; I'm just glad he managed to pull himself together and is still with us. It got really scary with the drug offenses, DUI charges, accidents, arrests, etc.
There are plenty of stories about this main event, and apparently TNA didn't know Hardy was in that state until he got to gorilla because he was fine when he showed up to the arena, but always hid until his match. And when they were trying to make new plans on the spot, Hardy just walked himself to the ring, so they had to figure it all out on the spot. They didn't "let" him go down there.. and Bischoff only showed up because the people backstage didn't know what to do, so he just went to the ring and improv'd to tell Sting and the ref what the new plan was, while staying in character.
Eric told this story on his podcast. According to him, he’s the only one that did anything to try and get out of it on the fly. So bravo to Eric for doing something

I have the same gripe. But in fairness to Mr. Miller if you watch that match it's actually Taz on commentary who calls the Minion, Spongebob. A couple of times I believe. I remember griping about that at the time too tbf lol. So I'd like to think Simon knows the difference and just remembered it wrong because of the commentary.

The Jarrett stuff was she wanted to spend time with Jeff and didn’t want the kids to be there. With Jeff Hardy they said he was completely fine through the show up until the time to go out. So they didn’t intentionally go through with it knowing that. Ric Flair was the manager of the group AJ Styles was in and AJ turned on him. That’s the whole stuff with Ric and AJ

If you have someone you know abuses downers and depressants passed out and non-reactive in the back and DON'T immediately assume they're high off their rocker, you're not paying attention. At best they look mind-bogglingly stupid. When that's the best option, well . . .
That's pretty much the defining moment for all of TNA. Ask a wrestling fan what they remember about the promotion and I'll bet you this will come up more than anything else.
