You guys rock. I'm 47 yrs. old and love learning new things. The dump valve system is something I've heard of, but wasn't sure of what they did and how they work. Now I know this valuable info. Thanks.
If you guys have never met this man you need to, hes very very knowledgeable and street savvy, & there great people they’ll give you the shirt off their back to help. Me and a friend of mine met them here locally at a Hill Billy arm drop in eastern Ky a few years back just b4 Billy started the channel, the truck was on Nitrous then. But let me tell you, there as HUMBLE now as they were then💯💯 Great People 💯
I thoroughly enjoyed the video I am 58 yrs old and I have never heard of this on a transmission thanks for the info I enjoy all the informative videos I really learn a lot from you guys
Don't ever say that people may not be interested in watching this tytpe of Video. I was totally riveted to it, that was so informative to see what your great family is doing. Keep up these type of Vidoe's, it is a credit to you and your family, so humble as always.
Hey old man, glad you're doing better. I love the behind the scenes videos. Just shows you all the fancy cameras and editing is only second to being interesting. If you ever need any welding or machining done, hit me up. McDannald Welding & Machining. We're in Marysville.
Bless y'all, I've been delaying my shop build but after discovering SRC, (INSPIRATION OVERLOAD) the boys, one 14 the other 18 AND myself have gained so much from your channel. Thank you.
Personally I appreciate your time and effort in explaining the things you do and what parts you use. Nothing beats a wise man sharing his experience and knowledge!
I remember dealing with Pete decades ago with my Mopar stuff...And Steve Griner built my trans brake God rest his soul..Thank you for the Knowledgeable awesome video.
No sir I watch everyone of your videos to the end. I don't miss a thing. Your videos have helped me many times more then you'll ever know. Keep them coming
Man I am so glad that I have found Billy and you, your so much of a wealth of knowledge and I enjoy every video to the very end for everything that you put out and explain and teach thank you for the teaching
I've learned more in the past month from this channel than I have piecing together bits and pieces of info over the past 10 years on YT. Thank you guys for all that ya'll do for us and more for doing what you do for them Pops
Hey, we're out here, listening. There is a lot of people that haven't made the upgrade to a good transmission and converter yet, so this was invaluable. Feel more confident in selection of components now. Thank you.
My perspective: I look forward to your videos everyday. I am personally a 4 spd or 5 spd guy. I like having a 3rd pedal. However....I watched this whole video and learned something about automatics. I really didn’t know what the dump valve was or how it was used until now. In fact, it makes me even more interested in using an automatic for my next build. The way you make these videos, you make me feel like I am part of your family. Thank you for that! Your willingness to help people is outstanding and I value that. Keep on wrenching my friend!
Keep the videos coming. Don't change a thing and make them as long as you want/need, I'm sure a lot of will stay for the yarns. Was gutted tho I didn't hear cheese an crackers once. Good job guys all the best
Thanks so much 'ol Dad. All these SRC tips are excellent and will be helping many, many street racers pull their times down and have a more reliable hotrod.
Hey uncle Bill. Even if these videos is 3 hours long, ill watch to the end. Its always good. And i love this type of video, its not always just about the racing, so much more goes into the prep than just that. And that will keep me clicking each and every time you upload.
Great video explaining a converter and dump valve system! Converters I understood but dump valve systems I’ve never encountered before. Only a couple years into racing. Learn something new everyday.
Heard about the dump valves but never heard how the worked. Thank you for your explanation on how they work, how they affect converter stall and how they affect performance of the vehicle. Great video. Thank you for taking the time to share this information.
Very informative on this setup. Interesting to learn other ways of cutting back power when the car starts to stand up. Bill, for the short period of time you have uploaded you seem like a damn natural. Keep up the good work man, enjoying all you post!
Love your channel man! Love hearing your stories, the background on the 55.. everything! And the camaro you guys rebuilt for your dads friend that battled cancer. That hit home with me. My dad past 4 years ago from cancer at the age of 50. He passed on his 68 camaro to me. Keep the videos coming ol man! From shelby, OH here.
Good to see your eye is better already tonight Bill, that's some very interesting information there, thanks for explaining it the way you do, you are very good at it, good night and see you tomorrow.
Hey just want to say thanks for the content. I haven’t had a drag car for 16 years and you and your boys have inspired me to build a new truck so I can spend more time with my son !
Old man reminds me of my old man. He is my best friend and teacher of life. Unfortunately he is in a battle for his life from complications of Covid as i type, the channels you guys run take my mind off of it for a bit. Thanks to you guys
Well it lt looks like your eye has cleared up just fine. It's amazing how a loving wife can take care of you in a way that you wouldn't bother doing on your own. At least I wouldn't. Thanks for sharing your knowledge as you do in all your videos. I find it very interesting, even if I never use it, it is just one more thing I didn't know this morning and I love to learn as much as I can. It's something that I'm always willing and looking forward to do. Again, Thank you. - Later
I THANK YOU for you experience and information. I was always wondering how the dump valves worked and after hours of research I got the info I was looking for. Now if I had your video 3 years ago I would have found my info I was looking for in 28min. Lol. After a long day in the garage I look forward to seeing your videos every night. I relate to your family alot seeing it is only my Dad and myself which is my best friend. So thank you again and God Bless. AWESOME JOB!!!👍👍
You have outdone yourself this time! I’ve seen and heard about them and I had an idea what they are for really.... now I know I can believe you are sharing this kinda info! Thanks so much! You are the man,💯
Start with hand first, not with impact, “No Ugga-Dugga’s”.....love this content!!!! Hilarious and very informative at the same time. Billy and Tommy, you guys have a great family there and for the Old Man, love the content brother and can’t wait for more!!
I came for the racing I stay for the shop talk. I prefer these to most other car content out there. Thanks for putting this out there keep up the great work old man!
Lmao.. I was watching your video and I was dozing off ( because I work alot of hours driving) so as I'm dozing off... the part where you say: HEY! PAY ATTENTION! Woke me up.. i laughed 🤣 at that! Your timing was spot on! Now that I got a nap! Back to the converters! And thanks for sharing your knowledge! I enjoy watching all of your channels.
One of my new favorite channels, love seeing behind the scenes. Too many young men aren’t blessed with fathers like you( and my father) and it shows. Keep pushing this channel is going to go places 👍🏽
The info you are sharing is priceless, always heard it is the little things that make it happen cause everyone is doing the big things. Keep up the great work.

I took in it all thank you very much , I am an info nut on these cars and trucks. I want to learn as much as I can .even after all these years of working on cars. Thank you for taking the time for explaining it all.. 👍
Absolutely love informational videos , constantly trying to learn more cause I don't know everything and I don't know enough for what's in my plans , thanks again for the information
Great explanation Bill, I believe two piece converters are the way to go a bit expensive, but the tuning capability with stater change is worth the investment. I used to run Coan in my Topsportsman Car. Great channel keep up the great videos
I really appreciate you takeing the time to explain this, iam not a mechanic but I love the content and explaining away this info. Thanks a million Pops!!!! Keep it comeing
Thanks for the info! I might put a converter in the truck. It definitely needs one. Got a built rear with good traction bars and built trans and 4.10 gears, but using a stock converter with the fins bent to allow a little more rpm down low. I bet a converter would liven it up!
Was gonna ask why u didnt put grease on the o-ring in the previous video. Ive pinched so many o-rings. This applies to all o-rings not just this one onlookers. Love the teaching. Good job👍
Excellent insight into the technology (and reasoning) behind dump valves. I've been a bracket racer for decades and appreciate a quality converter and transmission package, but I had no clue what the plumbing was externally on these (turbo) transmissions. Thanks so much!
I don't know you personally but know you from watching the videos and I can tell that you love your Boy's very much.. me and my oldest son was going to do a father and son project we was going to build a car once I got back to work because I got hurt and had to have 7 surgeries on my knee with one of them was a knee replacement..sad to say me and my boy never got to do it because I lost him June 25th 2020 I was a truck driver delivered food to wendy's and other restaurants and got hurt from a faulty ramp coming out of trailer so I didn't get to spend much time with him and I have his 2 younger brothers my 17 year old is starting to get into it I love it and hopefully one day have a car built in remembrance of my oldest son.. maybe one day I can come out and see your Boy's race live instead of on video.. just wanted to say is keep loving them boys like you do and cherish all the times you spend together because you never know when the good Lord is going to call for them.. thanks if you took time to read and God bless.
One year later, your at the TN come up event (Billy just lost in the 3rd round) and I’m out in the garage working on my converter and transmission. I just wanted you to know your experience and explanation is helping out over here in SW PA…On a cold ass night!
I cant wait for videos on that red nova. How bout a build for this channel specifically? I know budget is tight all the time, but think of it this way, how many guys/girls try racing on the cheap? Show them how its done.
Appreciate the content. I deal with o ring seals daily find it's best to clean the groove/mating surface then apply grease to the o ring itself that allows you to check the oring for defects at the same time.
A lot of people are interested in what you got going on. One Day in and 18k views. I been racing and building my whole life and im only a few yrs younger than Bill Sr. My family started doing it in 58, and I still watch all of the videos all the way through, not only to show support but because you never know if your gonna hear or see/learn something new that might help you in the streets or at the track.

I have a new understanding of torque converters I didn't have before watching this. Thanks
Watched Stevie Jackson doing the same thing today on explaining convertor rebuild. Great job expanding the dump valve system and how it works.
I watched the previous video and laughed to myself. When you decided to put the converter back together in your state of mind.

Dielectric grease works awesome for o rings. Put an rtv tube tip on it so you can squeeze out the perfect size bead and it takes 5 seconds. It’s silicone based grease also, which is what 90% of o rings call for. Works great for preserving rubber parts too.
Doin good Mr Bill. (Old skool respect) You have a good start here on this channel. Informed knowledge, (experience) is hard to come by now days.
