Ha. Well thanks Maren. It isn't bad...... but, the amount made compared to ti k e spent is definitely not a good wage. 🤣 Everyone sees it as a possible glamorous solution but it is rare and more than anything, the amount of time spent is hard to comprehend. I spend as much time as a FT job doing it. Lol
Completely agree! I have watched pretty much every video you have put out Wade, and I just want to say a huge THANK YOU!! You're videos are such a gift. I finally launched my business this summer after over 2 years of prep and planning, but not having the time to pull the trigger. I can truly say your platform is what gave me the knowledge and confidence to finally do what I've been wanting to do for a long time! We did our first market yesterday and had great success! Heartfelt thank you coming from Canada on behalf of the candlemaker community!

Interesting information and quite helpful! You could definitely do a tutorial on any of those apps like Crafty Base and Canva I would be very interested in participating in if you do something with those!
Wade, there is so much great content in this one video---thanks a million! When I'm on FB or other candle groups talking about issues, labeling ALWAYS comes up. There are so many options and I think that causes overwhelm---people don't know where/how to start getting their labeling going and have it manageable. I've gotten great templates on Etsy (there are many) and that has made it MUCH easier for me to get a good result.

First off I just want to thank you for how giving you are with information and really setting us up for success for those who want to go in business doing this. I've been wanting to do this for awhile and I'm finally ready to really do it. I've been doing my due diligence researching everything I can related to candles and the process of making them a well as the business side of things. One thing I havent heard in any of the hundreds of videos I've watched and hundreds of pages I've visited is how long should a launch take. How much time should I give myself because I don't want to take too much time but I don't want to rush. If I'm starting now, or say November which is when I should have all my supplies, how long should I take before I actually start selling ? Thank you in advance if you get around to answering
There isn't a set hard answer on this because it depends on so many things. Which is why it probably isn't discussed much. How much time do you have to work on it daily or weekly. Do you have a descent budget for it or tight budget. How many jars, scents, etc. The short answer is once you have a handful of finished candles that burn/perform well and also safely.... you can get insurance and start selling. But that timeline is very different for everyone

I would like to see more on labeling, and insurance. At what point do I need to get insurance? I'm just getting started. I've been working with one wax, one jar, and 5 scents. Once I was happy with those, I made 8 candles and gave them away to my fellow nursing supervisors at work for their honest review. Now the other supervisors are pitching in money for me to make a candle for all 70 of the employees on our unit. Talk about a big first order! I won't be making any money from these, but I think this will be a great way for me to get my little up and running.

Yah I was the same way. Now...CB will take some time to aetup for aure and requires you still engage and keep up with it. But it's SO much better overall

Hey Wade, I'm sure I left a comment here earlier, maybe it was too long and UA-cam didn't like it, but thank you again for this as it helps me a lot as to know what's out there that could help me before I eventually start my candle business. I've tried the trial of Craftybase already, just to see what it was like and I liked it, so will be using that in time. I will use Quickbooks and Sticker Mule too as its available here in the UK also, which is good . Thanks again Wade, you're always my go to channel now for candles.

It's still very early for you. So just keep promoting your products to everyone you can. Post daily on every platform you have. Try to create a story around your business or every product. Run specials... anything to start grog products in the hands of customers. :)

I'm interested in learning more about Shopify and online labels. I've used canva, but I'm curious to know if it costs more to print labels at home or have them made by online labels.
it almost always cost more per label to print at home with your own printer and ink. Its super cheap online in high volume and the quality is unmatched. But, its more upfront cost because of the MOQ to get good pricing.
Thank you for sharing all your knowledge and empowering other small businesses. My hobby is exploding and I know I need to scale. I would love if you could do something about operations and planning. I find myself meandering too much without a clear plan of what the week should entail 🤣 For now I'm thinking of doing niche markets and managing those as my "projects", but then friends buy all my inventory and it freaks me out 🤣

I am using a HP Envy 6055 ink jet printer...I need a new printer and thinking of going to a laser printer. Any suggestions would be great and label paper...I would like to print on black labels with white or colored text on black label...thanks ahead of time.

The apricot.😁🤣 No but seriously, apricot ads a little more creaminess. At least in my experience m coconut alone can be quite greasy and soft. That's why it's often used in a blend. Other than that.... nothing significant in my opinion
