In this video Jerry Lewis sings his signature tune "You'll Never Walk Alone" for Chris at the MDA Labor Day Telethon.
At the age of seven months, Christopher Rush was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, and his parents were told he would be “no more than a dishrag, and dead by the age of two.” Christopher lived to 30, and in that time he achieved more than most able-bodied people do in a lifetime including becoming the first quadriplegic in the United States licensed as a scuba diver. He was the manager of his high school basketball team; he went to prom; he graduated from the University of Michigan with honors; and he graduated with a Juris Doctor from Wayne State University.
Shortly before his death, Chris developed a motivational program called GO FAR, a series of steps that could help guide people who wanted to achieve their goals despite the insurmountable obstacles in front of them. His mission was to share this program with those with disabilities, and by his definition, “Everyone has a disability.”
This film is Chris’ life story and a continuation of his work; it will inspire not only those with disabilities, but everyone, to follow their dreams, no matter the obstacles.
The film is narrated by actor Mark Hamill as the voice of Christopher Rush. Also featuring Jerry Lewis, Tony Orlando, and additional celebrities associated with the Muscular Dystrophy Association telethons. - Фільми й анімація

Miss this great man. He was singing after being up for at least 24 hours. I am sure God is blessing him for his many years of good works that benefited many afflicted children. Rest in Peace
Nasty, physically and emotionally abusive, greedy, mean, malicious, philandering, lying, hypocritical, narcissistic, misogynistic, untalented, douchebag. Other than that, a great guy.
He did GOD'S work indeed!
Thinking of Jerry 2021 Labor Day weekend
Hope he got his just reward when leaving this world, for all he did for these kids, I met him once for MDA & another time in 1993 for a lifetime achievement award in film with the Ft Lauderdale Film Festival, I was a sponsor with AT&T, I believe he was a sincere guy, he truly wanted to help. He made a difference that is why we supported his MDA Cause. RIP Jerry Lewis you are missed by these kids & families
He was a funny man…Rest in peace Jerry…..
This was filmed in the late 1980s when this incredible man looked real good and his Labor Day Telethon is really missed by millions!!!!!
Rest in Peace Jerry Lewis. 91 years old and he went too soon!
Went too soon....My parents never even saw 60.......You can't live forever....He did live to see 91 years after having a quadruple bypass some years earlier.
I have always cried watching this...crap I AM 64 years old and it still brings me to tears
A hard song to sing, but to sing it with the meaning Jerry had behind it . most times he teared while sing it

Labor Day would never be the same. There would be no telethon without "You Never Walk Alone" sung by Jerry Lewis.
Jerry Lewis, one of a kind. RIP
Jerry Lewis did so much for his kids that is a shame that he will never see the day when they all will walk. RIP

Wow. He made it through the entire song without losing it.
I just heard of Jerry Lewis's passing. May he rest in peace. I remember Christopher Rush from the local Detroit MDA telethons before he joined Jerry on the national stage. I like to think they're walking together somewhere right now.

RIP Jerry! :'-(
❤️
Jerry Lewis was a man with love and hope in his heart and will always be remembered ❤
miss him!!
RIP Jerry
every telethon he could make me cry
I wish kids today could see the love that came from all who took part in these telethons. Growing up Labor Day weekend was Jerry Lewis telethon
Me too.
And the very man who did these telethons, along with his sidekick Dean Martin sang and wrote my childhood song my mother and my oldest sister would sing to me when rocking me in her arms. That song was Who’s Your Little Who’s Is. and this nation could use this very humanitarian, Jerry Lewis to handle the COVID-19 pandemic. He’d do a better job of it than some of our leaders are doing. Jerry, please come back from heaven to help this nation out!!!
What a pauer solie deo gloria
awwww 😢
Rip
As a kid I always hated hearing this because it meant school started the next day and summer was over.
weird, i just hated it cuz it sucked.
🤣
muito lindo e tão triste
me too..all night for decades and tonight i have nothing...nobody here...no telethon :( no nuttin'
RIP
Why can't all the people who knew him and the rotten young people who don't care about him accept and believe how great and wonderful he was????+
Because many people today are full of greed and a lack of morality to understand this that's why!!!!!
Because they are idiots. Idiot anti-Semites.
rip jerry loved Cinderfella
😥😥😥😥😥😥
Jerry was often compared to Caruso
Despite his many documented flaws, I believe Jerry is in Heaven. Yes he was a bit of a jerk, but he did a lot of good, even if some of the motivation for that good was self serving.
Well said!
He’s in Hell with the ‘chosen people.’
@@pastorrickstevenson5325 no no..God is the Judge. But..I have a feeling you may go there.
He was extremely funny and lots of good work with the MDA. But he was an absolute disaster as a human being. Cruel to his wife and children. As well as most who he worked with. Always sarcastic to everyone. Yes, he was a brilliant comedian and writer. But, you need to be a good person as well.
He was young here…
“;)
Too bad the telethon he, basically, created fired him because he was so right about the so-called "reality" shows inundating us even more than in 2011. Johnny "The Asshole" Carson said he retired at the right time due to the same shit becoming a virus and spreading.
Drop acid pay at .25 speed
Always seemed inappropriate to me, to sing "You'll Never Walk Alone" to people who will never walk alone.
Jerry was an evil man
you are evil calling someone else evil!
But he abandoned his children. Maybe he wasn’t evil , but he was an asshole.
