@@fattymcbutterpants9700 🤦 I'm sorry but "dictatorship" is a meaningless word. they call cuba a dictatorship, despite them having a participatory elections for their parliamentary system, hands down 100x more democratic than USA. nobody can buy votes, and everybody gathers together to watch them count ballots.
they called gaddafi's libya a dictatorship, despite them having the world's only direct (and consociational) democracy with the only checks on democratic power in place to preserve minority rights from infringement by the majority.
nobody ever calls saudi arabia a dictatorship, or egypt, or iraq, or post-2011 libya. it's only enemies of the USA who are dictators.
they're using your empathy to gain your consent for their geopolitics.
kim jong un is no dictator. if he was, why would he need a whole room full of people to make decisions? why would they have a parliament with more political parties than USA?
      it doesn't make any sense.

Saying Kim Jong Un has absolute power is completely ridiculous, knowing he can be removed from power by the supreme congress (formed by representatives elected from all regions of North Korea) at any time and replaced by another leader by election. Also he just doesn't have that much power, he has way less power than the president of the USA or any prime minister of a liberal democracy.
After Kim Il Sung died his political office of president of the DPRK was eliminated and its functions were divided into three different offices: the head of government, the prime minister and president of the legislature. There are other leaders of the political administration of the country, all elected seperately to their offices by the supreme congress (while in liberal democracies the prime minister elects all the other governing offices), the president of the supreme congress' presidium, the head of the military and the supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.
The political system of capitalist countries and socialist countries is very different. Socialist countries have workers councils throughout the country that each hold elections to elect among them a representative, anyone can be a representative and they're suggested to be one by the people and elected by the people usually by show of hands in local meetings where everyone over 18 can go and intervene and become a representative. Political campaigns are illegal, it's illegal to spend money to support a candidate like in capitalist countries. Then each one of those representatives goes the a larger council with the representative of other nearby regions. Then among these representatives they elect between them people to represent their region in the supreme council. Then the people elected to the supreme council elect among them individuals to a governing body to be active for most of the time. The representatives who are elected are always answerable to the people who elected them and can be removed at any time if the electors think they are having a bad time. Also there are regular mettings where the local representatives have to listen to the electors' demands and then work with the other representatives to solve the problems.
This is completely different from how democracy works in capitalist countries, where the electors are given parties or candidates to vote for the one they dislike the least, having no power over who those candidates or what those parties are or what they defend in any way. In capitalist countries the parties and candidates that win the elections are almost always the ones that have the sponsors who donate the most to their political campaigns. And the biggest donators of the campaigns of the rulling parties are always capitalists that directly benefit from the policies that the parties and candidates that they give money to will put in practice in their governments. From my point of view this is basically why us communists think that liberal democracy isn't democratic at all, at least not in the sense that it represents the goals of the working class vast majority of the population. It's really a dictatorship of the bourgeoisie where the working class elect who their next exploiters will be. It just so happens to be that almost always the 2 biggest parties in every capitalist country defend economically practically the same projects, in defense of the bourgeoisie and in exploiting the working class as much as possible. They still publically oppose each other fiercily but mainly base their opposition on different social policies they want like one party is more conservative being against abortion and lgbt rights and immigrants while the other party is more socially liberal and defends legality of abortions and shit like that.

While the description of the political systems in both socialist and capitalist countries is fairly accurate, there are a few points where further clarification is needed. Additionally, it is important to note that these systems vary from country to country and can't be generalized to all socialist or capitalist nations.
Regarding North Korea: Although there is a political structure in place, it is important to remember that North Korea is a totalitarian regime, where Kim Jong Un, as the Supreme Leader, holds the majority of power. The political system, including the Supreme People's Assembly and other offices, often serve as a façade for the centralized power that Kim Jong Un and the Workers' Party of Korea maintain. This means that while the system might appear to allow for the possibility of removing Kim Jong Un from power, in practice, it is unlikely to happen.
The description of the democratic process in capitalist countries is oversimplified. While there is truth to the influence of money in politics, it's important to recognize that democracies vary significantly in terms of electoral systems, campaign finance regulations, and the degree of corruption. Moreover, citizens in liberal democracies can and do engage in various forms of political activism to influence policies and politicians, such as protesting, lobbying, and organizing grassroots campaigns.
The portrayal of political parties in capitalist countries as primarily differentiating themselves on social issues is overly reductive. While social policies are one aspect of a party's platform, parties in liberal democracies do differ in their economic policies, including tax structures, welfare systems, and regulatory frameworks. It's true that some parties may not differ substantially on certain economic issues, but it is not universally true that all capitalist countries have two major parties that are economically identical.
The assertion that the working class has no influence over political candidates or parties in capitalist countries is not entirely accurate. While there may be structural barriers that limit the influence of working-class individuals, the working class can and does engage in political activism, unionization, and voting to shape the political landscape. Furthermore, some political parties in liberal democracies are explicitly focused on representing the interests of the working class and aim to implement policies that benefit this segment of the population.
In conclusion, the political systems in both socialist and capitalist countries can be complex and varied. It is important to avoid oversimplification and recognize the nuances in each system. While the description provided contains some valid points, it also presents a somewhat biased view of both socialist and capitalist political systems, which should be considered when analyzing the information.

For this to be possible there must be some level of democratic input , or else the economy would just not have lasted 70 years through war and crushing sanctions.
As far as the supposed "monarchy" this is just meritocracy and nepotism. This exists everywhere.
Kim Il-Sung was like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, FDR, and whatever other people Americans think were great all rolled into one.

Hell, compared to, say Kim, even almost-all of the 'higher-ups' are, to a certain degree, just "lackeys" of the 'Dear Leader' who help him run things more-easily.
The others are just occasional "seatholders" or "placeholders" for the sake of making the Party-state look good, be able to 'vote for stuff' to give the appearance of "consensus" (and to do the procedures for "legislating" in general) and have a lot of 'lackeys' the higher-ups can order around and make do their bidding.
and, of course, delegate various functions and duties to, to "relieve pressure" from people like Kim. Even he can't "do everything" :P

Also... I wonder how many of the "representatives" attending are *actual workers* (or were, long-term, shortly before being "elected")?
Perhaps, like the Soviet Union and China, quite a few of them were bureaucrats, administrators and the like. Or, at least, born into privileged families and backgrounds. Also... I wonder how much they had to spend on their suits, on average? Does the Party 'provide affordable suits', or does everyone "elected" to these positions have to *pay a pretty-penny out of pocket*? Is there "an abundance" of 'low-cost tailors' for "good suits" in NK?

Against imperialists I support DPRK but sorry to say it is not a working class dictatorship,it is a beaurocratic dictatorship of rulling elite family and white color executives,in their congress there is no portrait of Marx and Lenin, the great leaders of working class, from the experience of fall of USSR and Eastern Europe,Working class dictatorship should implement through multi party state where several communist and workers parties can put their representatives in Soviet Election(burgeous parties not allowed) and workers can choose representatives and vote for the Communist party they like.

Quote from first general secretary of the SED Walter Ulbricht on East German democracy
" some citizens asked why we have no opposition and think that an opposition is part of a real democracy, but democracy does not reign where various parties act against each other, where the power of the working class is divided and an opposition exists, after all an opposition in the GDR could be directed only against a policy of our government, it would therefore have to be directed against the introduction of our 45 hour work week, against the construction of an additional 100000 apartment, against our low rents, against the stability of our prices, against the machine tractor stations, against the high expenditure on science and Culture, against our peace policy, it would have to be directed against the unity of the working class, against our workers and peasants state, it would have to be in favour of employing militarists and fascists in high positions of power, of the NATO war pact and her preparations for a nuclear war, tolerating such an opposition would be criminal"
In my opinion it would just give power opportunists that don't have any strong political opinions I just hopping from one to the other to try and get support it reminds me of a politician in my country when there was protests around abortion he was against it but as soon as the majority of people supported abortion he started acting like he always did support abortion opportunist don't have any strong political ideas they just want to get to the top
I don't think parties should exist as an opposition maybe they should exist as like the place to represent a certain group and ideas of what they want as part of a Coalition but I would honestly support no parties as well after looking into the Cuban system and the democracy stalin wanted in the soveit Union in other to deal with its bureaucracy problem

"there is no portrait of Marx and Lenin" lol. They have their own national heroes that are more important in their eyes than Marx and Lenin. They still greatly respect the comrades who developed ideology and revolution in the way that Marx and Lenin did. But nothing will compare to the effect of seeing a hero from your own nation be glorified.
