Yes, different strokes for different folks. The Coupe look is what many car makers are going for. Some like, some don't. The new Jazz is even more controversial.
Pricing is always a delicate balancing act. In a similar vein, the Camry price was quite a shocker too, and so was the Mazda 3. Water will find its own level, and price increases are imminent and very real. Anybody old enough to remember when char kuey teow was 20 Sen a plate?
I think the Camry looks like a baby Lexus. Sporty, but still classy. I feel that the Accord feels more like an enlarged version of a Honda Civic design wise. It lost the classy aesthetic of the previous Accord, going for a more sporty but rather mainstream appearance.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. The Camry and Lexus are on the same platform. The Accord and Civic do look very similar, and yes, it does appear that Honda is adopting a more sporty stance. Perhaps they believe this will help them sell more cars, just as Toyota believe the Camry looks will also help them sell more. Each has taken a stance based on their own studies. Perhaps the Accord would appeal to the Civic owners looking to upgrade? As for us consumers, we have two different cars to choose from.
This Accord is huge. I would say the interior space is bordering that of the Merc E Class!! Not a fan of these overgrown sedans. Anyways, nice walkaround video, especially the starting part😜👍
Uncle YS: can help to explain why this circa 1.4 ton Accord with immense power is slower in terms of zero to hundred (9.1sec) compared to CRV TCP (8.8sec) which is circa 1.5 ton? Very curious
My honest thoughts about the 2020 Accord's design. Its appearance has seems to lost its "classy" aesthetic of the previous Accords. Seemingly going for a sporty, but more mainstream appearance, like an enlarged version of the Honda Civic. Same goes for the interior. The Camry on the other hand, is reminiscent of a Lexus, it has a sporty appearance, but still maintains a classy appearance both in and out. The Mazda 6, they pretty much push over the edge when it comes to design. Kia and Hyundai also does quite a good job with their designs. Not saying the Accord looks bad, but I haven't seen the car in person yet, so I may or may not change my mind by then.
It looks better in the flesh. The wonderful thing about the auto industry is that human taste is so varied. Different looks appeal to different people, so having more models means people have a choice; in the end, every make gets to garner its own share, and everybody is happy.
I thought 60:40 fold was a normal thing because my Preve has it. I thought if Proton have it, so does other car makers. But after seeing your latest Civic and Accord video, I baru realise it's not a common thing in Sedan..
I have seen this car in real life last year. The car looks good except for the rear section which looks just too elongated. Must be extremely spacious as a result.
I am just the messenger. It's very hot here, although in some of the indoor venues, it can be freezing cold. It also means an additional piece of stuff for me to take care of, but noted.
I think that if you're the type of person that can afford a D segmenter in Malaysia, I think the cost of the road tax of the 2.0 or 2.4 engines wouldn't concern you that much. If you're concerned about that, a D segment car is not for you. Let's face it, they're not cheap here.
@@germaineliew2012 Thats not true. If you look around the roads in Semenanjung Malaysia, most D segment Japanese sedans are 2.0L variants. Previous model Accord best seller was the VTI-L 2.0L with more bells and whistles than the base spec but not the 2.4L version with even more stuffs . Previous model ACV40 Camry also the same, the 2.0L outsold the 2.4L by a huge margin. The 2.0L has better demand in the 2nd hand market too. You are right though, people who can afford a D segment should be able to pay 2.4L road tax, but the reality is, they just outright refuse to pay so much roadtax.
Cameraman continuously keep the leng lui in focus. He's not concentrating on his work! 😂
He IS concentrating on his Work, pls don't Distract Him ;)
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
take my word, no one in malaysia can explain about a car as good as him.
Definitely going to buy this with Modulo bodykit! Btw, job well done, YSK as always 👍😲👍
The New Accord Sport version (USA) looks even impressive!!!
wow... uncle , you look 30 years younger when there is pretty lady besides you.
Hahaha, must be the aura around them.
I try to accept the rear design but really can’t, it is ugly to me
Agree with you
Master khong mentioned small car with hi power, which car(s) fit your definition?
Hahaha. I have many favourites.
For your guys information, the model is there to give YS Khong extra boost of energy to do this review
Hahaha, it helps. Love my job, lol.
Perhaps some don’t really like the rear end but it’s cool to me...!

Now vw passat looks attractive

looks like 150k range can now slot in new model/segment
True master khong, 5 years ago Accord starting price only RM 140k.
Nice review Uncle. Love the car but I have to wait until I'm 40+ years old before I can own it 😂 because this car suits someone beyond that age.
Hahaha, you can buy City or Civic and wait to grow older.
Do you think that the camry has a better exterior look?

I wish have Honda Accord 2.0 t in Malaysia 🇲🇾 is there have a chance Malaysia will have 2.0 t versions?
No news.

Interesting observation. Could be the gearing, but I am not sure.
@@YSKhongDriving and Passat with lower power but faster zero to hundred, makes me puzzled too.
2020 accord vs 2020 passat, which is the better?
Have not driven either, but I drove the A4 with the same engine as the Passat, and it felt quite good.
Had a test drive yesterday and it was not as quiet as I thought it would be.
Hmmm, interesting! We have not had a chance to drive it yet due to the MCO
@@YSKhongDriving Maybe I was just nitpicking for the extra Ks 😅

Personally I think honda accord interior is better than the camry. The camry interior looks mess up while the accord looks clean
I noticed the tyres are Michelin primacy 3st instead of the pilot sport 4 in the prev gen accord.
I cannot remember what was in the previous model; with each model, car makers select the tyres of their choice.
@@YSKhongDriving I have the 9th gen that's why I noticed it haha
I am waiting to see how this car challenging the Genting winding road. It would be interesting.
Yes it would. We are waiting also.

60:40 folding are common in conti cars, Japanese and the rest would follow usually.
Actually, split and folding seats are not common in the larger sedans but they are starting to come back.
YS Khong Driving owh sorry my bad
I have seen this car in real life last year. The car looks good except for the rear section which looks just too elongated. Must be extremely spacious as a result.
Yes. And the rear seats fold down to provide even more space. Honda is very good at space maximisation
Why still using gear stick, unlike the US models?
That's a 10speed
@@jasonw98 meaning, again we're getting outdated specs?
Honda thinks that Malaysia people are too dangerous (or poor) to afford 2.0 turbo + 10 speed
@@jasonw98 😭😭😭
Woah.... The selling price is quite expensive considering thats its a CKD
This appears to be the new level of prices.
But our level of salary does not go to the new level to afford it .. haih
Staple lights now??? Cool
wooohh uncle showing charm
Uncle ada itu ahmoi punya wechat x?
Hahaha, tiada. Sorry.
Uncle YS. Sibeh smooth ar you... Like CVT...
Uncle..No ambient lightning..isnt?
Not sure. Will check when test driving.
Need some extra coolant now ...
Hahaha. Hot, hot.
Why the rear have 2 colours
I think it is the lighting. It is one colour, white.
cantikk, tapi lampu belakang tu emm macam stepler kertas..😁
Perhaps next time uncle should wear blazer to look smart during indoor presentation..

Genting run....
Rich gets richer... Rdtax only rm90... Camry will struggle even the 2.0 variant. And uncle Kong remember to mentioned the price.

Civic enough already
Too expensive..prefer the previous honda 2.0cc..civic interior is better
Would I consider such a car? Waited for 2 years, this kinda price range without even any new bumpers of rear bonnet changes... Oh Hell No
This is all- new.
as compared to first launch US 10th Gen Accord… probably expectations on Honda MY introducing facelift version
This accord look very young
Yes.
If the lady ask for a ride I just have them seated at the trunk. It's spacious.
Hahaha.
I click bcoz the leng lui

Uncle, do you have Instagram?
Not active. Too many platforms.
I am distracted la dei !
最搞笑的是automachi在后面吃东西。
Beautiful ladies
not many buying Accords these days, over-priced
too ugly both front & rear design. Just couldnt accept it. The previous model looks more classic to me
Tyre rim design 😢😫
Junk Not enough power Honda get us to 350hp. And aluminum chassis.
Getting expensive 😩
True. Need to earn more, hahaha, or downgrade to smaller car.
Very sad this car dont have power tain gate
It is not a SUV, does not have a tail gate, and the boot is super light.
the rim is also ugly.... this is not a 2020 design lol
Just give the name of that girl ok 😂
I wish I knew too, but I didn't ask, hahaha.
Junk. 😊Get Audi. 😇🙏😍🥰
Fark off... Pass.
This car looks weird.
Some like it, some don't.
Accord always overpriced
Would buy a camry n save 20k
You better check Camry price - it is not RM20k difference.
