    You just helped me a ton!!! When I was where the first 3 were, i said crap. Watched one video of someone removing everything and said there has to be a better way? You nailed it. Thank you so much

    Thanks for the insight boss it did work without pulling the intake but I still ended up taking off the airbox because I couldn’t get my hands all the way in

    Just spent 3 hours on my 2004 Solara and managed to change all of them but #5. This is definitely not a piece of cake if you dont have skinny arms. Folks, this is one of the few instances where SIZE MATTERS. I went through all of the 5 stages of grief, and even questioning if God exists at times. I still think it is worth to try, but only if your car is fully paid.

      @@35andRetired AHHHH! I have a question because I am a pretty tall guy with large hands, and I cry inside when I even think about working on this car. Here is my question:
      How big are your hands? Like how long are they etc? Just wanted to compare so that I know what I am dealing with :)

      Replying to my own comment for an update. I went outside to see. I removed the PVC hose but didn't remove the PVC just to do a rough check. I can get coil one under the PVC out, but the rest may seem to be too hard to do. BUT I WON'T GIVE UP! :) I also use the video to compare my hand with yours by measuring your hand while it held the 6 inch tool. We are pretty comparable in hand size.
      Was it a really tight fift for you?

    Awesome. Really didn't want to do this as I did it on my dodge stealth and that was a pain and this looks more cramped. But this looks relatively easy actually, especially with this method. Thanks I'm going to try this out on my 2006 solara and if I remember I'll update on how it goes

      Hi, you really won't want to go out and buy the tools I used, you will want to find cheaper alternatives. Snap On is not worth buying unless you are a mechanic professionally. Good luck. Here is the ratchet I would use instead of the one I own...www.amazon.com/GEARWRENCH-Drive-Locking-Ratchet-Polish/dp/B09YMWQH7L/ref=sr_1_4?crid=IBHV6ZQTNLLO&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.B394rb7KGsb8KRWymiMgj4FApUzcf-zAzpMiRZntsFVuOOEV-CL-uT8-3zgv_1ptHBU_d0uSz52SbTF2E4Awvb_TcnMp1mjQzyKRH_2kDac2HrOBanvDSm2DwEHyoPmKRRjj2Xx17y4kCKlho26MGUUqSvMgBM_HaeCsM6zIx9OttV_pAwsQaUKBCoiyQmPW3pRCloMSJKX1wT6kmKl3fMgfTjJz4cy_tss0PFTROXQgXoPVOVZ6iPgL06dwL05zZfIXf5hVCqaKZlNqjy4BaNZe3pB6-H4T2U_bxXiYooU.8lGlfeN44O4N0_oEzWZS7KhnuZHTRTZ1FDKCILQjkw4&dib_tag=se&keywords=gearwrench+flex+ratchet+1%2F4&qid=1716686060&sprefix=gearwrench+flex+ratchet+1%2F4%2Caps%2C95&sr=8-4

    Well, I did followed your procedure to take out the three spark plugs at the back successfully. However, when I screwed the new spark plug #5 into its position, there is no way for me to take my spark plug socket out. :( I am not sure if you had the similar issue. After all, I may need to take the intake manifold apart to get the job done anyway.

    • @35andRetired
      @35andRetired  24 дні тому

      Can you use a magnet to pull it back out? Like a magnetic pick up tool that mechanics use?

    • @LonghornBear
      @LonghornBear 24 дні тому +1

      @@35andRetired I tried, but the magnetic pick is not strong enough. My socket has rubber insert. I have to unscrew and take it out again. Then use a tape to secure the connection between the socket and the extension firmly. After that, I hope the socket will be pulled out with the extension all together.

    • @35andRetired
      @35andRetired  24 дні тому

      @@LonghornBear gotcha. Just remove the rubber insert from your socket, you don’t have to use it. Then repeat the process and you should be fine.
