That's definitely not a real MRAP. In a real one, the Driver & Commander's seats hang from the roof to keep the shockwave from transferring into the personnel through the chassis, floor, and seat mounts.
Remember all M-35, 2.5-ton trucks are manual transmissions. Most with 5-speed manuals with high and low range lever. Those that only have driven automatic transmissions need not apply. Most M-35 trucks are governed to 45-mph.
Respectfully. The military buys a lot of trucks. They don’t have a lot of miles because they sit unused for a very long time. When they break, the military simply goes to their lot and pick out another one. They have to because the mission must be completed on time. The truck gets fixed later. Nobody owns the truck so they could give a shit what the miles are even though it’s recorded when the truck is checked out. Their are only two things to be concerned with when it comes to these trucks. Dry rot, and young people work on them that have no real world experience and could care less if they work being they have more in their lots.
Nice muscle house that the m35a2 and the volunteer fire department like the military surplus vehicles for water rescue calls and wildland firefighting calls as well they can always handle anything
A lot of vehicles in the motor pool have low mileage because they only time they are used is maybe twice a year for going to the field/gunnery and to MCIS (whatever it's called).
True story and that 25k miles was ALOT OF MILES OF BEING DRIVEN BY ALOT OF 18-20 AND DRIVEN LIKE A RENTAL/STOLEN/VALET LOL BEST THING ABIUT THE MILITARY IS 25K MILES THEY ARE ON THE 3RD MOTOR ALREADY AND 2ND TRANSMISSION BECAUSE ABOUT EVERY 5 YRS BEFORE THAT OCTOBER ( FISCAL YRS IN THE GVT BEGINS IN OCTOBER) THE RESERVE UNITS ESPECIALLY ARE ALWAYS BLOWING MONEY ON THE DUMBEST MOST EXPENSIVE UNECESSARY ITEMS BECAUSE IF A UNIT DOESNT USE THE ALLOCATED BUDGETS WITHIN THE FISCAL YR THEY ARE SAVING THE TAXPAYERS MONEY BUT THEY ALSO DON'T GET THE FUNDS IN THE NEXT FISCAL YR THE UNITS WILL LITERALLY WAIT TO SPEND EVERYTHING UNTIL THE LAST COUPLE WEEKS LEADING UP TO OCTOBER AND ITS A HORRIFIC AMOUNT OF FRAUD WASTE AND ABUSE BEING PERPETRATED ON THE AMERICAN TAX PAYER AND THE SYSTEM IS ACTUALLY A GOOD IDEA THAT WHATEVER ISNT USED GETS TAKEN OUT OF THE BUDGET THE NEXT FISCAL YEAR BECAUSE APPARENTLY THE UNIT " DOESNT REQUIRE" the extra money.. if the American taxpayer had any idea how much fraud waste and abuse actually existed heads would fuckin roll!!! Ive personally witnessed someone spending $1800 for an office desk and $950 for matching office chair! Ive seen $90 pens made of gold plated or platinum plated metal and others have spent hundreds on " waterproof " paper and matching " nasa space pens" that :::gasp:::! Can write upside down!!! And in space!!! Yeah goverment spending on the taxpayers dime! Remember about 10 yrs ago they had an audit showing the goverment had been buying a bolt that was $700 for the single bolt and $500 for the matching nuts.. no one went to jail no one got fired... it was in the media for about 2 days and then i believe there was some mass shooting or a bombing and it vanished... sickening love the channel on a side note! Lol soapbox mic drop wow that escalated quickly sorry guys
I just subbed your channel, I take it your down south somewhere, me Fla, ex- AF myself, an always looking for something from my era, late 60's to mid 70's, thx for the vid.
The 3rd vehicle is an MRAP. It has had a full restoration. It was purchased through DRMO Camp Pendleton. I was very interested in this and flew out to see it, however, at the time Gunny was not flexable on the price but it is in incredible condition with a fresh engine and transmission. The tires are military Kevlar run flat tires and the vehicle comes with 6 nos spares. The glass you mentioned is 2" 5 layer and nearly impossible to purchase. His asking price has come down a little but it is a reasonable price considering the government paid 3/4 million for these. Many states will not register these because of weight and armor.
Id take the 12 valve anyday! If your needing the engine waterproofed on this truck your in water deeper than you should be and you have more problems than the engine water proofing.. but the fuel pump is mechanical anyway to help remove electrical issues.
You’re right they should just give them away instead of minimizing costs by selling retired vehicles to civilians. That way the military will have less funding and we can all pay more taxes! But you seem like the kinda fella that wants more free things from the government so you’ve probably made your peace with high tax.
Unknown killer of the haters yeah the 250 Cummins is usually an 8.3 but they swapped a 5.9 Cummins in there for whatever reason they decided. I’m sure they turned it up a bit to make some more power.
You should research the vehicles before you describe them, That way you don't have to read the description and figure out what they have while showing us. Know what all the vehicles have before showing us the video, It's annoying having someone trying to show stuff that they dont really know the product.
Dealers are the problem that take big bucks..but at least they have to make sure your not going to find that you spend more than the trucks worth..so buy from a adverts that are privately owned.. cant fix it or just out of love or money..stay safe guys and gals stay away from the virus..think before you jump in on money pits
Hi liked our video. But would know the name of a ww2 vehicle they first used on b-day. It was a jeep size but it was able to dive underwater. I saw a video on pbs about 20 years ago. But never got the name
Can an M35 really be civilized? IE. comfortable, etc.? Those axles make me wonder if there's just too much unsprung weight to make anything but cumbersome.
Thanks! & I am using a set of Jeep wrangler LED lights. They fit the same buckets and are multi voltage because of the LED's. I have already been using them on my slant back for 6 months now and they are perfect.

Do you show anything that someone that is not supper rich can get? The first deuce looked good on top but under the hood and underneath didn't look that good. Paint is cheap, repairing something under the truck is not cheap. Why would anyone want an old deuce that doesn't have the multi fuel engine, and surely not at that price!
Nice Video! Excuse me for the intrusion, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you researched - Tarbbatigan Vintage Sales Tip (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a good one off product for finding government and police auctions for cars trucks and SUVs minus the hard work. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my GF finally got astronomical results with it.
Wow! A review of overpriced military vehicles by someone who has no military background or mechanical experience!? Definitely a UA-cam channel I should seek advice from!
The older and newer 2 1/2 and 5 ton cargo trucks come stock with a multi fuel mechanically operated turbo diesel.
Crim the demon wolf Yup they do. This one was swapped with a 5.9 Cummins out of a Dodge Ram 2500 or a school bus.
The 5.9 will last forever and there power houses.
@@DakotaWoodHD Is low mileage a deciding factor in purchasing an old vehicle? Are these vehicles practical camper-living?
Manual transmission duce and a half , like the ones Dad drove in the 50's. I'll always go for the manual over a slushbox.
not quite, the A2 came with a White Multi-fuel engine, not a Cummins

Why there is no Humvees on the list? Humvees are best vehicles ever.
My only concern about these vehicles would be the ability to get replacement parts and maintenance; otherwise, most of these would be nice to own.

Hey Dakota... this video series is a pretty nifty Idea of You. I'm looking forward to week 2.
Michael Paradigm thanks buddy!

Number 5 is a special forces truck from the 1st , Earth Battalion ERA 1984
Educe without the dual fuel that's a no-go

You forgot HEMTT, although it's hard to find tho
I'd rather have the M35 with a multi-fuel engine that's completely waterproof than the Cummins
Id take the 12 valve anyday! If your needing the engine waterproofed on this truck your in water deeper than you should be and you have more problems than the engine water proofing.. but the fuel pump is mechanical anyway to help remove electrical issues.
All diesels are completely waterproof 😂🤣
When I drove the m35a2, they all were ‘10 wheelers (6x6)’.
Yup normally they are. The one in this video was converted with (super single) tires, I think the tires are the same size as the MRAP tires?
As a U.S. citizen, my tax money already paid for these vehicles.......you're telling me that I have to pay again to own one.......no thanks!!!
Paul C. Ha! Ha! Good point!

Its your patriotic duty as a citizen to pay whatever tax your government demands of you.
Right , like Medicare , you have been paying into it for many years , and if you want to sign up you get to pay more . What a racket !
@@BoleDaPole Yeah right - they dumped thousands of good vehicles off the Alabama coastline to mane reefs for fish habitat .
Stevens listing is labeled as rare, lol, makes sense tho
Didnt emphasis it's a pro winch. Huge benefit
M1081 is awesome almost like unimog beast will get you were you want to go
baah! 5.9 ha! Ha! description might be wrong! should be 8.3 I might be wrong but thats one overloaded 5.9
Unknown killer of the haters yeah the 250 Cummins is usually an 8.3 but they swapped a 5.9 Cummins in there for whatever reason they decided. I’m sure they turned it up a bit to make some more power.
Why? M35s only weigh 12000 ish pounds. That’s not much weight.
O
Am looking for a fully operational M109A4 for sale in the Houston, TX area.
The Fast Attack vehicle is a prototype. Only 2 exist. I have the first one. And no it's not for sale.
WHere the hell do you get parts for this stuff?
Even the Cummins is a great motor but I go with the multi fuel motor in the duce and a half Why think about it.
AWESOME Duece...

Back by 1 but I don't have the money Stuart Stevens Light Truck would be perfect and an asset to my job
If you have Humvees very old car or junk car Humvees, how much the price? I want to buy
I would like to see deals under $5000
Hmmwv start at 5 k on the government auction site so probably not going to happen
Those days are gone... Like with all collectibles
