Hello my wonderful friends. I hope you found this video useful. Let me know what’s in your list. Or what you think would make a good gift for a disabled person. The lapstacker was my Christmas gift to myself this year and it has been a gamechanger, I love it. Last year I got a ring doorbell and it also has been a great tool.
I got a pair of the loop style ear plugs from Amazon for £.9.99 and they are amazing. Used them for the first time last night and slept like a baby as been kept up the last few nights with sirens blasting early hours of the morning. Love your channel as well
One thing to note with the water flossers: they make a very high pitched noise when you use them and it can sound a bit like nails on a chalkboard. Just something to be aware of if you/your recipient has auditory sensitivities.
I'd have recommended the Jansport adaptive backpack. It's really good. And can be adapted even more to what you need. I have two. One on each wheelchair so I don't have to swap them. They retail about £60 but I think a lot of the time you can get it for just under £50.
I’ve heard so much amazing stuff about the Osmo pocket 3… Mostly from the Japanese youtubers that I watch, so I’m glad to hear someone outside of Japan endorsing it! It is a bit pricey though, for someone like me who isn’t committed to making videos. Maybe if I’m able to restart my channel again next year. That flexi phone holder sure is pricey as well, but it looks really sturdy. The cheap ones are not so stable, granted the ones I’ve tried are longer. A cheaper alternative to that chest travel bag is the one from uniqlo. It doesn’t have many compartments though, but also holds a ton. I can stuff my 750ml water bottle in there even! It was great for keeping my passport and some peripherals like my portable charger in there during my Europe trip last year. It’s very soft and comfy to wear too and I love mine. I bought myself a weighted soft toy because here in the tropics you can’t use blankets most of the year. Unfortunately I didn’t like it… :( I kept seeing those loop earplugs on my fb feed… But I think for now I’m good with using my airpods :P
Great video! I loved the Nimble Thimble, went to their website, and loved the array of useful goods for disabled users! I will be ordering a thing or two from them! I have/had the water pik. Lol! The only downside to the water pik is if you have hard water, like I do, it will cause calcium build up in the pump, even after you rinse it after each use, the hard water still sits in the pump. I run a little vinegar through it after each use to counteract that. Or you can use bottled water, but that can be expensive in our area. But it does work well. I am thinking of an electric blanket for my husband right now.
Gem I shave bought Sara her Xmas gift which is her favourite perfume, it wasn’t cheap but it’s her favourite fragrance I have it stored up stairs and I cannot remember the name of it! Bloody ms brain is rubbish ☹️,I’m going shopping with my parents tomorrow to buy her some more bit’s and pieces, she collects Pandora charms and hopefully I will buy her a Disney charm! Plus stocking fillers!👨🏻🦽🎁🎁😀❤️
Am I the only one who thinks >100 is a lot for the lapstacker? Looks like a classic disability mark up to me. Anybody got suggestions for a cheaper option or a diy version?
They also don’t fit every wheelchair. I had to email and send photos of my chair before after a lengthy email conversation I was told it wouldn’t fit my chair. To their credit they did refund my money in full in a couple of days. Also I hadn’t realised the company is in New Zealand so shipping would take a while.
I’ve been hoping you would do this video but I was hoping you would cover under chair bags. I usually use a backpack on the back of my nhs chair but finally I have my first wheelchair that I purchased and I adore it but my backpack is too big and there isn’t a pocket or anything on the back of the seat itself. I’ve been searching for an underwear bag that can just hold a few things securely but so I can access them quickly in a shop etc. I just feel overwhelmed with the options out there, I’ve got a list of possibles but I would love to know what others are using and loving or not. Does anybody have recommendations or steer clear options? Thanks and good video Gem x

Oh wow, I don't go anywhere without my Loop ear plugs! I have the Engage type, which work for public situations and also sleep. A real game-changer!
