I would rather go to the mat fighting for the people of my state and take the threats from MAGA and all the dopes, than to sit there and not vote for the interest of those people. @ Do you have any recollection of how many Biden Nominees required VP Harris to break the tie? It’s in the dozens. It’s worth a Google.
@@Jommybutler1234 , there are many positions which are inherently political and where you can expect there to be some (fair) amount of party split leading to close votes. For things that should be non-political like defense or justice, that is not the case though, and there should be broad consensus (or should the DoD only protect those Americans who voted for the current executive branch?). And that has basically always been the case. Check the votes for SecDef confirmations for the last 40 years, and you'll see there are never more than a few people against. 50 against Hegseth is its own condemnation. And we are going to be the ones paying the price for his incompetence.

Their allegiance is not to their party, it's to Trump.
The people that vote for them are in the thrall of Trump. We have a country full of idiots thanks to Fox News, Joe Rogan, and all the other right wing influencers.
Although, in fairness, I think most of the people who sent them to Washington would be outraged if they voted against him. The Senators are prioritizing their own reelection above what the know is good for the country.

Weeks ago, I was saying that Joanie Ernst doesn't have the integrity to oppose Hegseth when everyone was saying she would spearhead the opposition against him. How'd that turn out? She has permanently forfeited her right to speak for women in the military & in general on these issues, and should just go be a lobbyist for big corporate interests, where she would be better suited based on her complete lack of integrity & decency.
Horrible disgrace and an insult to our fathers and grandfathers who fought to defend freedom. Big insult! These people are just so awful!! How dare they?!
